Yes, it is likely an early Star Trek badge. But due to its diminutive size, it obviously belonged to a baby. 👶🏻

My Friday gets off to a great start when I see Brad's video is posted! Happy adventuring people! Best channel in this genre! ❤ The Baby spoon may have had the handle bent into a loose loop where the wider parts are. Many baby spoons had a looped handle to make it easier to hold.

Hello, maybe your triangular lead object was a children's toy made of lead. It looks like an old iron. Here in Germany I find toys made of lead relatively often in the fields. Little soldiers, animals and so on. I wish you continued success on your treasure hunt 🙂

Great video Brad as always. You and the Scottish Detectorist give wonderful history lessons. For the Baby spoon the handle would have been bent so that the two wider parts would be adjacent to each other. It would have been a spoon for a toddler whose hand would easily fit in the opening in the handle.

Those are my two metal detector channels, too. Love the history and glimpses of times long ago.
@pauloadams6330 Жыл бұрын
The baby spoon handle actually curved around underneath so that the handle formed a loop with a little recurve tail under the bowl. It was actually a baby feeder. The narrow part of the hourglass shape was for your finger joint to hook into it.
@gregorybarr6112 Жыл бұрын
Yes! I wrote in about the same thing. Some how I remember a spoon like that in the early 50’s although Brad’s find is much older!

The buckle is the equivalent of a gold coin relic wise. You can see the same design that man stared at every morning for a few brief seconds while he is putting on his boots to start the day. Very intimate

Someone probably already commented on the baby spoon . But I believe the handle was meant to be bent in a loop. The mother could put a finger through the loop for a better grip. Anyway, have seen that type before.

The suspenders buckle looks like it would have held stockings up. The triangle could be a cuff link. The “spruce) swings from side ti side. May work once clean.

Could the lead triangle thing possibly be a cuff link? Maybe? And the baby spoon could be shaped like that to make it easier for the baby to hold on to when they’re first learning to use utensils? Just thoughts. Absolutely love the sleigh bell. I used to collect bells of all types until I downsized. I miss that collection. Unfortunately they aren’t something that’s plentiful in Texas so metal detecting to find one would be a very long hunt. Especially where I’m at near the border with Mexico. Very enjoyable video. Thanks.

LOVE your videos! I'm addicted! Just a note though, the small item you decribed as a supender piece is actually more intimate. It's for holding up women's stockings & men's socks. The name "velvet touch" is a sales point, saying it's gentle so won't tear your silk stockings.

The Bells Edgar Allen Poe Hear the sledges with the bells -- Silver bells! What a world of merriment their melody foretells! How they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle, In the icy air of night! While the stars that oversprinkle All the heavens, seem to twinkle With a crystalline delight; Keeping time, time, time, In a sort of Runic rhyme, To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells From the bells, bells, bells, bells, Bells, bells, bells -- From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells. Love your video's Brad. You are so like one of our sons, we feel we know you. Here is a verse for your crotal bells!

The baby spoon handle, I believe, was formed in a loop so the baby could grab it and learn how to feed itself. My mom had one for me .
@petepal55 Жыл бұрын
That must have been a comparatively affluent farmer. That you could ring that bell was kind of uplifting to me, like a tribute to the maker for creating such a durable, enjoyable, item that brings happiness to the ear. The soil there seems like it isn't as destructive as it is in most of the locations where you detect, I hope you'll revisit the site.

That baby spoon is a great find. There were several in my family that were hand me downs from ancestors of the 1800s. The handles were curved over to enfold two of the mother's fingers. Held in one hand it gave more control over the spoon while holding a baby and feeding.
