Also commenters are forgetting that it would be extremely traumatic to loose a hospital ship full of children. And that humanitarians live extremely long. No telling how emotional a species of psionic giants can get even worse how sentimental, especially since they seem to have the ability to share emotions.

The Humanitarians have not completely thought through their plans for the people of the Terran Republic. They may be able to overtake the Terran military but what happens after they are reunified with the families of their ancestors. Will the cure even work after so many generations of Terrans have passed it down? What happens when the Terrans become adults according to the Humanitarians?

i like to imagine it similar to "madness combat" M.A.G. unit, where they grow biger yet still has same mentality of regular human (a.k.a. brute berserker) but unable to use psychic power. Hell, they probably can grow to 20ft if posible, but guarantee with more unstable mind even with just normal humanitarian physique.

This is the reverse of another story I listened to last week. the Space humans were a lost Terran hibernation colony ship that landed on a low gravity planet and grew much taller than average humans.

If I made an add-on it would go like this: Since a proper conclusion to "Who should gain custody?" could not be reached, it was decided that a group of humanitarians should make their homes on Earth's colony planets nearest Earth, the majority of them being the parents of those lost children. They would watch over their human descendants from behind the scenes. They would improve their vaccines & medications as well, these would be given to the humans & as a result, many human diseases including hereditary ones would suffer a sharp decline. It would take further centuries before the Terrans would regain their ancestral psyonic abilities. The Humanitarians would then take it upon themselves to properly coach their 'estranged relatives' in the use of their long dormant abilities.

That is an abusive arrogance that deserves the likely consequences. A more reasonable approach would be to provide the medical help possible for current and future generations (if still viable after so long that speciation will have occurred) and support human society through the upheavals and integrate technologies and knowledge. Forcing this upon Earth is little more than an arrogant alien invasion against a known military force with capabilities proven beyond their own. How a race can claim 'ownership' of descendents to the point of potentially committing genocide against them shows they do not have the moral grounds to back themselves up.

And humans have done that repeatedly. Particularly Europeans in recent history. Except in this case it really would be better to capitulate to the humanitarians. Terrans have a hell of an ego too. From the humanitarians perspective it's your missing retarded children denying you after you told them how much you missed them. I also think mental states of terrans and humanitarians are far different due to genetic drift.

@manswell. You forget that the humanitarians are actually more powerful than everyone else. At their average height they use naval guns as snipers and likely have far bigger tougher and powerful weapons. In addition to psionics that evidently incapacitate terrans for seconds to minutes. Even microseconds in combat toes the fine line between life and death.
