Brilliant video thanks just replaced mine and noticed previous owner had run heavy black sealant inside the cowl/ scuttle along the entire length obviously to stop any water passing into engine bay/ air vent so I might do the same now realizing that is a potential problem if I don’t 😉😜

Thanks for the video. I just got a new one today from the dealer for $229 plus GST which is not too bad. Must have come down in price over the last year. Appreciate the video now I know exactly how to replace it. Mine had deterorated a bit but mainly it was messed up when the windscreen was replaced.

Hi. I also have a 2005 model year DISCO 3 and have the same problematic blistered plastic windshield cowl. But I'm not sure if the water flowing over the windshield leaked into the car behind the swollen plastic piece. I know that the leaking water is discharged through the drain pipes.

Hey alpervaci there's 3 possible ways for water to get in 1 being the windshield cowling which is more by the middle of the car 2 being the a pillar plastic clips not sealing and letting water in there , this being more by the outside foot of the front and passenger footwell depending on which sides leaking And 3 the sunroof drains which is more middle again if you have a sunroof

Hi @@OUTBACKDiscovery. I have experienced number 3 and renewed all the sunroof drain pipes from 4 corner of sunroof after a galoon of water on my front footwell 🥺 Also i watched the pillar leaking on another channel at any helpful video as yours. At all you mean it must be replaced windscreen cowling. Do not gamble with LR3 😄

Hi mate, do you know if this will be the case on a l320 range rover sport? Mines same engine as yours. I have wet carpets at the front no sunroof. Same car just different body.

Hey mate yeah should be similar maybe slightly different I found out the hard way that if your a pillar plastics are missing clips or the rubbers on the clips are missing it will let water in aswell
@OUTBACKDiscovery3 жыл бұрын
So maybe start there the clips are about 15$ for a bag of 6,

Could I ask how you clean you engine bay? I am a bit cautious when cleaning this part, and most people where I live dont do it.
@OUTBACKDiscovery4 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy I just wet it with a normal hose low pressure and wipe with a sponge and then hose off again and just avoid plugs where possible
