I don't think you can get new ones, don't know. If it's removed carefully it can be reused.

Recently had my windscreen changed and it whistles going down the road from about 10 mph. Windscreen tech said its sealed properly and put it down to the aftermarket screen and seal being thinner so he wouldn't remove & refit without me fronting for the glass again if it breaks. Don't know if he's right about the glass or not but if the windscreen fitter turns up with "Lamishied" windscreen tell them you want another brand. I think a rock might hit be hitting the screen soon and get it changed on the insurance 👀Looks like those guys done a good job though and i hop you don't have any noise/water issues now 👍

This one is a Pilkington and I'm happy to report to no issues at all. The whistling noise is probably the trim. Mine is not fitted properly but it's quiet so far.

Intresting to see! had mine replaced last year and insisted on a new top seal. The company actually supplied and fitted both a new top seal, as well as new OEM side trims, which was a bonus as the old ones were quite faded! I got an unknown brand of screen though, you did well to get a proper 'opticool' one 😊

Lots of useful information. 👍 It's all very well just saying "Prise this trim panel off" but pulling in the wrong direction can often mean ruining the panel instead of neatly popping it off. Worst one, in my experience, was the interior trim panel at the top of the tailgate, which has clips attached to spindly legs about 3" long that break if you don't pull the panel in the correct (forward and NOT downward) direction. Ask me how I know. I assume the windscreen NEEDED replacing urgently? Said it before, I think, but I plan on fitting a new windscreen eventually, just because the heating element doesn't work properly, but I'm going to arrange to get any rust around the windscreen sorted at the same time. Fortunately, the top of my windscreen doesn't look too bad and, luckily, it turns out that "Zambeze Silver" is almost exactly the same colour as silver hammerite so all the hidden parts of the windscreen surround will be getting treated and then painted with hammerite. Also, ALL my end caps for the rain gutter are broken and I'm told they're like hen's teeth to find. I dunno. Maybe I just need to get rid of them and see if there's some alternative that'll work instead.

Cheers Si. The screen was cracked and encroaching into zone A. The MOT people let me off on the proviso it would be done before the next MOT. Endcap situation is ongoing! I need to fix the rust before going any further.

Rust around the frame was my biggest worry. That hole has probably been there for a while!

Hi Derek, had my front window changed due to rust bubble on the top that stressed and cracked the windscreen. I do have a spare rear door window with relative new rubber gasket seal, if you need one.

Previous videos show a small crack roughly where my right hand is in the picture. It had spread into Zone A. Zone A is anything touched by the wiper and is an MOT fail.
