These poor fish :[ . This tank looked big UNTIL they put that HUGE insert in and made the tank like 20g! Some of the fish in here should be in a 200g plus they will get the size of a dinner plate... That butterfly fish will definitely die cause they are extremely sensitive. I don’t usually do these kind of comments but this got me REALLY annoyed.

Ya know, I can’t wait till I can afford a large, spacious fish tank. I would keep around 10 medium sized fish, with lots of natural decorations and coral/plants. Ya know, an actually good, kind and fair tank where I actually care about the well-being of the fish? Obviously, those are some foreign concepts to these people...

Truly love how everyone is concerned about fake coral about the positioning of the tank and cleaning of the tank. But has anyone taken into consideration that they put double filters on these tanks they put fish and the tank that are a algae eaters or bottom cleaners which clean the dirt and poop and gunk off of things like the coral as well as other fish and the change that they were put things and there to help make it easier for the owner which a lot of these are celebs so they're probly gone and majority of the time and we all know that nobody will take care of your things like you so maybe is due to the request of the celeb or the owner to have fake coral

Yes. My first tank, I dumped everything into the tank at once (including the fish) and lucked out that every fish made it. This show suggests you can have an instant tank. I am cycling a tank right now and some people think it is funny that I have a fishless tank in my little library.

One thing that has always surprised me. All of the tanks that I have seen made on the show "Tanked" have some kind of ridiculous insert custom made for the customer. This is fine and dandy but if I was paying the ridiculous high price that these guys charge for custom tanks I want to actually use the tank for living creatures, not fake crap. Like this tank, the insert easily wastes half of the capacity of the tank. If I am spending time and money for a Salt Water tank I want to have beautiful, living coral along with the other living living creatures found on a reef. I don't want a tank full of fake crap

They're not wasting the capacity of the tank because only a third of it is the overflow box and insert. If you don't do this, the overflow will not pull enough water into the filter, the protein skimmer, the blast chiller, and the return pump. They do this specifically so the fish don't get stressed by unnatural currents, like those from a hanging filter. Also, the "fake crap" may not be your taste, but it's what the client wanted. They signed off on the rendering before any building takes place. Just because it's not your cup of tea, doesn't mean it's not loved all the same. As an aquarist like yourself, you should be embracing the advances in technology we've made in terms of fishkeeping and spread the love of keeping fish as pets instead of being an elitist that put down people simply because you hate their tanks.

You're mistaking these people with average joes that can't hire a biweekly maintenance team to take care of a large aquarium. Dwight has his own snake caretaker that was there for the two snake tanks Dwight had commissioned. Tracy Morgan's Giant Pacific Octopus has a full-time caretaker with a degree in marine biology. It's filthy that they are that rich, but at least they're not heartless.
