Tyriel Wood was there and some other KZbinrs 🙂 Vr1 has same if not bigger fov than Psvr2 and of course much much bigger than the 104°h and 104°v fov of the crystal. It's also way way brighter than the crystal, reaching almost the brightness of Psvr2 with amazing colors . It will also support local dimming by the end of December . Local dimming will be even better implemented than of the crystal. And it has an even shaper image quality than the pimax because they are using some proprietary sharpening algorithm and they have better lenses . The only downside it's 1899€ before tax for the base version of the Somnium vr1

What helped me with the sweet spot and comfort on the PSVR2 is the Global Custer PSVR2 Comfort mod kit. It comes with front and rear head pads with a top head strap, it basically turns your PSVR2 head strap into a Bobo VR head strap complete with a rear head cup minus the battery holder. With the added rear head cup and top head strap it keeps the PSVR2 snug on your face so the sweet spot stays put and makes the headset very comfortable.

I have a chance to compare both headsets PSVR2 and Crystal light on simracing games. Crystal Light in Assetto Corsa and Le Mans Ultimate looks photo realistic. This difference can be very distinguished in Le Mans Ultimate. PSVR2 is amazing too but it looks less real life image wise, as somebody said it looks as GT7. Super amazing but you know it's a game. When you get in Crystal Light the image looks as very expensive business class/sports car comparing to entry level consumers sports car (PSVR2). Choosing between 2 headsets. I want to send back Crystal Light as PSVR2 does everything great, especially for 350 retail price in July. OLED screen is amazing - racing Nordschleife in Assetto Corsa in night is a treat. Colours are truly amazing, blacks in night has various tints. It's easier to drive car in night in PSVR2 as you can see outside - the side the car. There are different gradings of black, you can see where front side wheel or bonnet is, it's easier to judge the apex. The BIG difference in image I noticed in simracing AC Nordschleife was when coming down hill in car after WEHRSEIFEN corner, just before BREITSCHEID corner. There is a house between fir trees, it does give out in black night sky a good size beam of light and moving. You can see this detail in PSVR2 it looks great on replay and during race if you look for it. In Crystal Light rewatching replay I could not see that beam of light. I tried 3 dimming options, still nothing. That means using Crystal Light in dark scenes you might not be able to see the game as it was intended to be seen by developer. On other side that is not a deal breaker. I want to keep Crystal Light because of it's high sharpness life like image and Pimax Play and support. PSVR2 has no support and those 2 games (AC and Le Mans Ultimate) looked similar - same bright colour popping GT7 effect what is amazing but not photo realistic. Le Mans Ultimate and Assetto Corsa in Crystal Light is like watching cars dash cam recording, it's that amazing. Also I tried The Blue experience, 4 different episodes. What can I say - PSVR2 just shines in there with amazing colours and dark scenes in underwater cave. It is very difficult to choose one. For movie watching and VR experiences it's PSVR2. For realistic simracing, Flight simulators definitely Crystal Light if you can afford it. If want to try VR and get into VR in general, there is no better option between two as PSVR2. PSVR2 I found has bit bigger field of view, maybe seems bit brighter, you don't notice it of your face as much as Crystal Light.

The resolution of the PSVR2 is perfectly fine and very impressive especially with those true black levels and brilliant colours, we do not really need anything higher at the moment. The Pimax really needs a 4090 gpu to fill those 2880 x 2880 displays and play games fluidly at its native display resolution while the PSVR2 will run just fine on your current hardware if you are upgrading from an Index, or Reverb G2. Another point is the features that are exclusive to the PSVR2 like eye tracking and adaptive triggers or HDR are not supported by 99% of PCVR games, but they could be enabled in the future if there was enough demand, the Pimax does not have any of these features built in so they could never be enabled and so cannot really be included in a comparison. Just 2 weeks after the PSVR2 was released there is already talk of the adaptive triggers being made to work via PC modders so its just a matter of time for the other features to be enabled but I think this will all be up to the modding community to implement, Eye Tracked DFR in the UEVR Injector would be a nice feature if this could be implemented The PSVR2 can also be connected to the PS5 to play all of the PSVR2 library of games but the Pimax is not compatible with any other VR system.

The PSVR2 losing its native eye tracking and haptic feedback is huge. IMO it would need integrated audio just to compete with older existing hardware (like quest 2 and pico 4) even at a severely discounted price... unless these features can ever be unlocked through software development. As a hard-line Sony supporter from PS1-PS3, my PS4 unfortunately played a large role in my deciding to ditch consoles and invest in a VR-ready PC instead. Since then I've watched Sony's limited progress from a detached perspective, and thankfully my experience with VR has advanced more quickly as a result.
@techinfusions3 ай бұрын
If its such a huge loss can you tell us which PCVR games use Adaptive Triggers, HDR, or eye tracked DFR? I think only MSFS uses DFR technology, PCs rely on brute force to drive VR games so do not need DFR technology, the PSVR2 uses DFR to boost the power of the PS5 by a factor of 3.6x because the PS5 hardware needs this technology to make games like GT7, No Mans Sky, Resident Evil 4 & 8 look and play so well on much less powerful hardware, the PSVR2 is a beautiful PCVR headset and great value for money.

2:30 Oled burn in on a vr headset? Really? Has anyone seen this? You aren't going to have a static image on a VR display usually because you move your head! I have had oled VR headsets since 2016 with the oculus CV1 and then pimax 5kxr (the oled one) which I still use and neither exhibited burn in. I wouldn't think burn in would be an issue in the context of a vr display that just won't display a static image like a monitor would. Or be left on for hours and hours displaying a static image. I mean they have proximity sensors before the display turns on, you need to be wearing it. Burn in certainly wouldn't be a consideration for choosing a qled/LCD over an oled on a VR headset for me!
@CorporateZombi3 ай бұрын

I would be sold on the Pimax, but it seems like a horrible headset for work-out programs like Les Mills body combat. Is my assumption correct? Is it a little too on the bulky side for high moving workout programs?

100% don’t get it for that lol. I have a q3 for those type of “games” and my crystal for seated sim racing. I recommend the Q3 for the app you mentioned, as a matter of fact, I believe thats a quest exclusive.

The best headset is the one each individual can afford. I have 2 quest 2s, 1 quest 3, psvr1, and psvr2. I like them all, but I wish Sony would put the psvr2 back to that 200 off sale because I would like to have a second psvr2 for my other ps5. You have a very pretty smile, by the way

I wonder if there is a comparision list about the 100% Steam-Setting for resolution. It seems that different Headsets with their own lenses (even if they are the same type) have different correction values for barreldistortion - which will cost additional performance, because this is compensated with pincussion prerendering and a loss of resolution. PSVR2 wants about 3400x3480 for 100% instead of 2000x2040 - what about the pimax and quest 3? I believe it has also something to do with size of lenses and maximum FOV. I heard alot that Quest 3 seems to be sharper not just because of the better sweetspot area...but overall...and i wonder if this might be connected to this distortion correction. So i noticed many channels are excited when the next and better HMD is lurking around the corner, i wonder if we already have way too much resolution due to this issue. In fact, i could already use a RTX 4090 just to feed the PSVR2 with 100% Steam-Resolution. Staying below that will always introduce a more and more blurry touch the the image. Around 2600x2600 is the level, where it starts to fall apart for my personal taste. At the moment i would be afraid to pick any Headset higher native pixelcount than about 2100x2100.

Great video I was wondering if you needed thumbnail designer, I've sent you an email.

I stopped at the 4 minute mark because too many mistakes in the video. A few examples: Resolution: no word that the PSVR displays are pentile = the ACTUAL resolution is even lower. Burn in: there is no burn in on HMDs - because HMD displays are not on constantly like in a tv or monitor. They flash for a few ms - and than they are (mostly off). So: BS. "If you need a display that performs well in bright conditions...." WHAT? Bright conditions on an HMD? WTF? clearly she just saw that sentence in an article about QLED vs OLED TVs - but don't understand that this has NO relevance in a HMD! So much BS in just 4 minutes....

She fumbles lots of things in her reviews. In the Q3/PSVR2 comparison she compared comfort using 3rd party strap on Q3 and default strap on PSVR2. The GC comfort mod for PSVR2 is more comfortable than the Bobo on Quest. Time to stop watching these biased reviews.

The $699 model of the Pimax Crystal Light does not actually exist. Pimax has admitted that this model was abandoned and is not coming, yet they continue to advertise it.
@deutrolige3 ай бұрын
So that explains why in their website shows "Coming soon". When I asked them how will be the $699 model available a few months ago they told me latest in July, and now we are at the end of August 😒 Pimax is unfortunately a very unreliable company and will never trust them from now on.

@@deutrolige Pimax claims to have started shipping to customers who pre-ordered the nonlocal dimming version by giving them the local dimming version albeit with the local dimming feature disabled in software. Supposedly you should have been contacted about this in regards to your order.

another problem with the pimax crystal is the stupid software that really sucks, and the price point is insane, even compared with index back in the days

Pimax headset look so uncomfortable
@SargonDragon3 ай бұрын
They are considerably more comfortable than they look. One thing Pimax really gets right is their strap designs. They have to be good to make the weight bearable, and they are.

The psvr2 is NOWHERE near the best vr headset. I don't like the misleading titles recently.

PSVR2 is a well rounded headset, I just hate the terrible persistence and terrible lenses (bad comfort and annoying wire too). but eye tracking and display port with OLED at the price point is hard to beat, I would choose a quest 3 or pimax crystal over it due to the psvr2 issues. but thats me

Actually Stand alone headset means the processor or in the case of Quest 3 its a snapdragon mobile processor is built inside the headset, so no the PSVR2 is not a stand alone headset. The PSVR2 is hooked up to a PC, therefore its a PCVR head set set when its not hooked up to the PS5. Besides its just a comparison video "Pimax Crystal Light vs PSVR2".
