The WIESBADEN Werfer cup Under 23 men discus competition was World class in spite of the "winter" conditions and the wind not being really helpful. But the competition spirit and the crowd support were fantastic . The Norwegian 21 years old Sven Martin SKAGESTAD , after taking the lead with 60,14m and 61,73m throws , had a dream 3rd attempt for a new PB and a quite unexpected Olympic qualification with a 65,20m performance . The German 19y junior Clemens PRUFER , after throwing over 66m with the 1,75kg , got a great 61,62m PB with the 2kg in his last attempt to get the second place , with brother Henning PRUFER 59,34m securing the 3rd place on the podium with only one throw measured . Merten HOWE 19y , also still a junior at 56,83m and Brand TORBEN 56,08m completed the German solid squad and New Zealander Alexander PARKINSON was quite happy to break the 55m line for a new PB for his 1st international competition in Europe to finish 6th. All these guys have been showing quite good techniques and great potentials to build a new generation of World class discus throwers and join the actual Elite. DP
