That couple's video actually popped up in my feed yesterday or the day before. Unbelievable & shocking how much they've gone through. Thanks for sharing their message with your own personal experiences. I remember when the channel, Fathering Autism was reported to children protective services. They actually filmed the social worker coming to their house & addressed what happened in their video. I felt soooooo bad for them. They really emphasized how over worked social workers are & yet a social worker had to come to their house because of a false report. So sorry you've gone through so much. My promise to you - I will report it every time I see it & if any of those channels pop up in my feed, I'll be glad to hit "do not recommend channel" #Promise

I was bullied in my former career. It was a gang of very nasty women who were jealous of my position in the organization. They made up shit about me and got me fired. The union wanted to get rid of the older workers so they didn’t defend me, even though they admitted it was a put up job. Suffice to say I don’t support unions anymore. I was devastated financially. I am 71 and still working. I know all about bullying and so do you Carolyn. Maybe there is something better up the road for us? I protect myself now. I don’t put up with toxic people. I believe half the population in the US is mentally disturbed. Watch your back.

Love your videos and have watched you for years. I've noticed those that attack you are mosty very immature toxic men. They hate that you're a strong woman, and if you block them, they blow a circuit. It's like how dare you, protect yourself and stop their toxicity from being on your channel. I'm a licensed professional counselor with lots of experience in various areas. I have thought about sharing information on KZbin but for this reason I don't think I ever would. I stopped teaching at a college as an assistant professor online once because I had a bully the last semester and was really too busy anyway and thought, "I don't get paid enough for this bs." 10 years ago I was cyber bullied when trying to sell some of my Mom's musical equipment on Craig's List after she passed away. She was a Popular Singer, Guitar Player, Recording Artist in the 50's and 60's, 'The Mary Kaye Trio' This one guy responded with the most vile, disgusting comments over, over and over again, that he posted on line about my dear mother. I was traumatized for weeks. I had to get my brother involved who searched and located the address of this 'Evil Slimy Troll" and my brother had to threaten him to get him to stop. And needless to stay I had to pull the ad out of shock and fear of more vileness from someone else.

The vanlife community on youtube lost a beautiful creator. She lost her battle with mental health and was relentlessly bullied by a dude on youtube for a year before that happened. I was thinking of lea all through this video. She was such a sweet spirit and loved and was loved by many. I was sick over it for months. The internet is so lacking in regulations at a dangerous level for creators and viewers. We subject ourselves as viewers to so much misinformation and propaganda against people and organizations. It can be hard just being a viewer. Seriously. I usually don't even comment on videos from the creators I really like anymore because of the ridiculous 'replies' I've gotten for just thanking someone for their hard work or making a point about something. Anything. I can't tell you how many times I've replied to the reply with something like 'HOW ON EARTH did you get THAT from what I said?!' lol I am really sorry that you've had to put up with all of that crazy BS. I have so much empathy for youtubers who have to deal with the bullying. I have seen some of my favorite youtubers give up their channels because if it. One of my favorite people on youtube committed suicide in 2021 and bullying was a huge part of that. It should be a criminal offence. There is a guy with a channel in Canada who loves to pick on you specifically and I happened to see a couple of videos. I wanted to lash out with comments, but chose not to because I knew that would add to the crazy. OMG Carolyn, my heart hurts for you. I am glad you are addressing this. Brave and neccessary. At the end you said it takes about 1000ish positive comments to erase a negative one so I thought I would send some Canadian positivity your way! Thank you Carolyn, I was cyber bullied and got death threats for a YEAR because of one paranoid, insecure narcissist imagining I rejected them. Fight back, that is the only way to end it. They eventually show their true colors to their Flying Monkeys but it can really mess with your life in a very negative way, even cause suicides. It's no joking matter. If you see anyone cyber bullying anyone, ask all the right questions and do the right thing. Some people are just so unhappy the only thing that makes them happier is to take down everyone else.

Maybe it's hard for you to deal with because of lack of education on mental illness. Yes...there are no open wounds or physical attributes to see. You also are generalizing. Thanks Carolyn for another great video and bringing attention on a horribly negative issue. Diane's Tarot handled this beautifully. She warned everyone saying, "Any negative comments or bullying would be automatically reported to KZbin." Their channel would then be closed per KZbin community rules. She gave not an inch. Also, this won't solve the full spectrum of horrible things people are doing. Because of this kind of crap I am reluctant to share my gifts on youtube and that is just sad. I have been watching your channel for years. You give the absolute best information about van life. As an a older solo female camper, I find your videos very helpful. It's sad that there are MI people that use you as their way of feeling a purpose in life. I find this particular video very insightful. I was a behavioral health counselor in the military for many years. This makes me extremely cautious when interacting with others in any manner. I agree, we should not have to live this way. Holding others accountable can be exhausting, and I applaud you for trying to get others to understand the damage negativity can bring.

I'm also 55 and one thing I've noticed looking back on my life is that it doesn't matter where I worked, what level I was at, or anything else about a job - there was always that one person who was crazy obsessed with me in a very negative way. Just like you say, it's to the point of delusion. I'm not sure if this is something everyone has to deal with or not. I've often thought about starting a channel on my move across country in Sept and using the platform to support a cause. Though I don't know if I could handle these KZbin BULLIES. I'm pretty tough,, like Carolyn. But reading day after day insults that are pointed at yourself has to be incredibly hurtful. We are made of flesh and blood. We're human.

I just came across your channel about three weeks ago. So I’m playing catch-up with a lot of your videos. I appreciate you sharing your life. Find it very interesting and fulfilling. I admire your adventure and bravery. Being a 70 year old woman retired truck driver understand the challenges of the road alone., I’m shocked at how our society has become with social media. You’ve had to suffer any of this uncalled for behavior. Internet and social media is a great thing but like anything else you can take a hammer and build a house or you can hurt somebody. The toxic climate of bullying is demoralizing-and dangerous!! The baser sides of human nature and the frustrations of the populace have been exploited and perpetuated politically, and its noxious effects are far-reaching. Yes, bullies will bully because they can, and it should not be tolerated! Reason is not effective against an angry mob full of suspicion and even clinical paranoia. It feels like we have regressed as a species and as a culture! I'm so sorry to hear about the bullying that you have experienced. I'm not a content creator, but I had a business with an online presence. One of my customer's was trying to swindle free product out of me. She bashed me and my employee and then proceeded to post all of my communications with her on Facebook. It was amazing how a bunch of people jumped on the band wagon and started taking her side (mob mentality). Next thing you know, my google page started dinging with 1 star reviews. I couldn't believe it. These people knew nothing about the situation, never had been to my business, but just joined in with bashing my business. Needless to say, I learned from the experience. But some people are crazy and just plain mean for no reason. Most of them hide behind the anonymity of social media.

There's a couple I enjoy watching on KZbin called "Squirmy and Grubs" who get all kinds of harrassment on their channel. There are always well-meaning folks who interact with the trolls and stand up for the creators, but I know it's a waste of time on their part. I have often longed to be able to counteract these bullies, and now thanks to you making this particular video, I have learned that I can do something to help!!! I have experienced random hate just like that, Carolyn, and my heart goes out to you. It is so shocking when something like this happens, totally unprovoked, and out of the blue, from people we don't even know. This happened to me on fb by someone I knew OF, but had never met before, and it was just completely bizarre. The only thing that made any sense as an explanation was that these folks were mad jealous of my online so-called fame, all because I had created a fb page for enthusiasts of a certain dog breed. The page had a huge following and I suppose that is the only thing that could have been behind this crazy behavior of throwing hate directly at me. So I ignored, and let it go. I am so sorry you are dealing with this problem too while out on the road. I am planning to also go live a nomadic life within a year. I appreciate your transparency and the awareness it brought. I will be traveling with my eyes open.

In 1970 I was 9 years old and was being bullied by a 15 year old neighbour. One winters morning while waiting for the school bus he started verbally abusing me and others. I ran home and told my father. My father came to the bus stop grabbed the boy by his collar, and proceeded to shove snow in his face. By now the school bus had arrived and everyone on it witnessed this as well as the boys mother. My father told the boy, if you ever bully my daughter or anyone else I will come after you. That boy apologized to me and the other kids. Not only did he make friends with us he also began helping my father do yard work. One less bully teenager turning into an adult bully. If a father did that today he would be charged with assault.

I had two twins bullying me when I was trying to learn to ice skate…they pushed me down…then I fell backwards on one of them and they broke their leg. No more bullying after that. :-)

(on a much smaller scale- of course) I got so tired of people saying: just ignore them, turn the other cheek, Red. and people calling them “trolls” 😡 When someone makes a video about you, to bash you on their channel that is NOT a TROLL it’s a BULLY! And I had people I thought were my friends side with this person and think it’s OK for him to do a video bashing me -it got him watch time and he got monetized! The video he did bashing me is his most viewed live! I had to threaten this bully with a lawsuit to get him and his minions to stop. I am so glad you addressed this! YOU ROCK! There seems to be a segment of society that are very disturbed mentally. They probably will not try to pull themselves out of of their mental muck and want to stay in that familiar place. Indeed the internet "authorities" do need to address this. This negative, harmful behavior, has bubbled up in schools, in work places. I was so surprised to see that someone would care so much about an American woman rolling around the USA in a RV with a dog that he would spend so much time on this. I then realized he was making money off of the hatred. The best thing to do is not click on his videos.

I just went through harassment issues. I had to file a police report and went to the courthouse in front of a judge to get a harassment injunction and then then serve the harasser. So now if he contacts me in any way a warrant will be issued out against him and he can go to jail for 6 months and 2500.00 fine. i had to deactivate my facebook account, turn off my comments on my channel. It was a complete nightmare! Constant nonstop harassment day and night! He made fake profiles of me, attacked my nonprofit organization.

I’ve been through the same and I only have 500 subs. I confronted a cyberbully and inadvertently started a harassment campaign that goes on to this day. My head and heart hurt and KZbin will do nothing but gaslight me and deny and protect the bullies. It’s a group of insane people. I’m grateful that you actually made this video. KZbin has to be exposed because I can see how this comment would even trigger you, based on my own experience. It’s insidious and never ending. It’s time to put an end to it.
