I miss the 90’s when life was good, friendships meant something, and nobody was so addicted to their phone that they couldn’t be 100% present in the moment. 😢

I'm a guitar player and I don't play a lot of songs but I'm so glad I have this one in my back pocket. Thanks JR and Dishwalla. I would totally play and sing this song at a gig, or even a campfire setting. Chords are simple and beautiful. Who wouldn't want to learn this song?

Must have been mid afternoon I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out And he walked with a purpose in his sneakers, down the street He had many questions like children often do He said, "Tell me all your thoughts on God And tell me am I very far?" Must have been late afternoon On our way the sun broke free of the clouds We count only blue cars, skip the cracks in the street And ask many questions like children often do We said, "Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I would really like to meet her And ask her why we're who we are Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I am on my way to see her So tell me am I very far, am I very far now?" It's getting cold picked up the pace How our shoes make hard noises in this place Our clothes are stained We pass many cross-eyed people And ask many questions Like children often do Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I would really like to meet her And ask her why we're who we are Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I am on my way to see her So tell me am I very far, am I very far now? (Tell me all your thoughts on God) Am I very far now? Am I very far now? (Tell me all your thoughts on God) (Tell me all your thoughts on God)

I had forgotten about this track until I saw a "Hits of the 90's" short on YT this week - it got quite a bit of air time on Triple J in Australia back then.

@@PhantomEyce Me not hearing it is maybe due to my listening preferences nowadays. 🙂 I gave up listening to radio here a few years ago (too predictable), so I don't get to hear much unless it's on YT, etc. I doubt we would hear this track on Triple J now - they tend to focus on newer and unconventional artists. For example, in the early 2000's they played a lot of Coldplay (who were an emerging band at the time), but I doubt they would play anything from Coldplay now as they're more "mainstream".
