This video provides a systematic view of resolving the diswaher non-draining issue. In my case, when I installed the garbage disposal, I didn't remove the knock-out plate, so the dishwasher doesn't drain. Just by removing the knock-out plate, my problem was no more. Thank you so much!

You just saved me at least $150-$200! I have the same model dishwasher and had a small piece of plastic stuck in the motor. As soon as I opened it up, It fell right out. I was able to actually open up the motor without taking the dishwasher out of the wall. It was a tight squeeze, but I was able to access it from underneath. Thank you so much!

If you installed a disposal, you probably didn't knock out the plug that is in the side of the disposal that connects to the dishwasher hose. THAT is what happened to me, and a big THUMBS UP for mentioning that.

Great tutorial. The problem was actually at the drain opening on the garage disposal. You called it out and I checked it and sure enough that was it. I blew it out with an air tank and out came the corn 🌽. Thank you!!!!!😅

This was a phenomenal video, was super nervous to twist the pump Off of my dishwasher because it was on pretty tight, but it came off no problem. Glass was also the culprit for me too, it took off one of the propeller tooth. Did three test drains and it Works fantastic now. Super helpful. I cleared the pump of a small twig and fishbone but still not draining. When I get to the part in this video about blowing through the hose to make sure it’s not the issue I was thinking I’m running it every day so it can not be the hose but doesn’t hurt trying. Glad hubby thought of using the air pump for inflatable kayak and we blew out so much mushy ewww! Now it’s working! Snake didn’t help much as the hose is loooong and twisted. Wish it was installed more efficiently. Thanks for the video!

Love this video. Has helped me multiple timed with this dishwasher. Seems like a shotty design as I end up removing something from the pump about every 5 months. Never had this issue with other dishwashers. Would not recommend this model based on this alone

Of course it stopped draining as soon as the family arrived for Easter weekend! Turned out to be a clogged drain line near the disposal. This video helped me get things fixed up quickly and easily. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

Thank you for posting this - 1 day before home inspection to sell and the error code showed up. Found broken glass from a wine glass stem that made it through the filter and was blocking the pump from spinning. Fixed and running in about 1 hour.

Thanks for pointing out the pump/impeller check. I was able to narrow down the drain problem to the pump. Discovered that we had a small piece of chop stick that broke off and was getting lodged in the impeller intermittently. It was a big help. Thanks!

great video really helped with my kitchenaide dishwasher. One note I tried generic part with new impeller 7 blade and it leaked when installed. Got the parts from amzaon, reordered with Whirlpool W10348269 Pump Drain Maytag OEM 5 blade impleller and worked fine also on Amazon but twice the price. Generic part did not have same seal as OEM pump.

Fantastic video. I have the drain pump off and can spin the impeller but not sure how freely should it spin. I am assuming not freely like a fan blade but spin freely a full turn or two before it spins back. Is that correct?
