Disinfecting Creek Water with a 3D-Printed Mug
Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin have 3D-printed a prototype portable water-purification module that can remove 99.997% of E. coli bacteria in natural creek water, bringing it to a safe drinking level.
Researchers hope this innovation can lead to commercially available point-of-use devices for cleaning water that comes from streams and rivers when water infrastructure fails.
