Yeah the crazy thing about this strat is how (keep in mind I don’t play ranked but) I feel like for Yo the strategy is not very hard to pull off, no crazy micro, no doing 10 things at the same time. Just mine stone, stop making vills, up to castle, make wagons. Whereas to defend it hera has to predict it, go forward with vills, tower, archers, harrass villagers, and even after that wall, idle to go up fast. Like it seems so much harder to defend in the sense that you have to do so many things whereas the opponent just follows a simple plan

A lot of things needed for a good phosphoru was there, Korean vs Mayan and Yo had a back stone. Normally Yo would probably not go for this rush

@@nicholass5621 yes but you can’t know that in advance that’s why it’s so strong, they don’t go to stone until about 08:00 and by that time it’s too late to drush and you need to have your forward range vills already moving forward.

phosporus strat is a all-in with poor economy. If the strat fails in castle age and your opponent can fight back in castle age or go to imp then you lose the game basically. And hera has a lot of monks, he could convert half the wagons easily so Yo couldn't just waltz into his base and kill freely without getting his precious wagons converted.

If he wasn't well on the way to Imp already, that castle is dead to trebs, and Hera had double his vills. The wagons aren't making up a gap of 50 vills before Hera cleans them with Imp units.

Ranked in AoE2 is so dead, I want statistics of active players with more than 100 games at least. Probably less than 100 concurrently

I wrote a tool that downloads and parses every ranked 1v1 24/7. i guess i dont actively track concurrent players but here's some numbers. About 50,000 unique online players per month, 25k-35k total ranked 1v1s played per day on any day of the week.

@@proper_noun436 I ran some numbers it looks like there is roughly 400-1000 concurent players/hour depending on how generous or conservative you will be with numbers or certain events and hypes in the game trend. The question is how sparsely is the elo divided that 1000 will be spread and less likely to find matches or fair close matches. I am not saying the ranked system is broke, but I am saying this machine needs more numbers in it to be smooth and effective.

adding to the predicting of these numbers ELO | Concurrent Players Est. 2800-3000 = 1 2600-2800 = 1 2400-2600 = 4 2200-2400 = 17 2000-2200 = 42 1800-2000 = 100 1600-2800 = 150 1400-1600 = 208 then with same decrements the number on right side goes back down 150 -> 100 -> 42 -> 17 -> 4 -> 1

focusing on hard caping the elo matching is a good solution, but its risky cuz Hera might queue up and never find an opponent because nobody in the 200-300 elo range is queuing up, so the dilema is should the system give Hera a timmy thats 500 elo less than him or give hera a nice message that says could not find a fitting opponent ?

@@bombrman1994 To me it only makes sense that the #1 player in any game wouldn't be able to find ranked matches on their level. There isnt really much you can do about it is there. If you are the best at something, your opponents will always be worse than you
