horizon west you can sneak right in the back of disney through the short cuts , you can leave your house at 9:00 and be in the park at 9:30

Orlando is so much more than Disney. It's a giant perk, but being a pass holder now is different than it was pre-covid. It's not as spontaneous ( especially with Genie +, more crowds and price increases). I wouldn't discourage anyone, but evaluate your situation and lifestyle.

I’m so excited to get our vacation house built next year in Horizon West (Del Webb Oasis). There’s nothing I want to do more in retirement than wander around theme parks without a blistering scheduled agenda.
@offtodisney7660 Жыл бұрын
We were going to buy there. I took a look round the show homes a couple of weeks back and discovered they had gone up by almost $300k since they started sending out information. A decent spec now is the sharp end of $800k without a pool!

I think most people picture “Disney Adults” as spending their evenings riding rides and eating popcorn. For my fiancé and I we enjoy just walking around the Parks and eating at a sit-down restaurant.

Agree! That’s our vibe too
@BobTuskey Жыл бұрын
Yes, and Disney Adults are given an underserved negative stereotype as well. My wife and I are courteous, helpful and stay out of the way of other guests. We leave tables and benches cleaner than when we arrived. We usually walk on the edges of the pathways and streets. We don't walk through queues and don't bother those who chose to do just this without consideration. We are polite in difficult circumstances and wonderful to the cast members ( of which my wife is now one.) We retired here two years ago and love it. The experience changes once you are local with an AP and we wouldn't have it any other way. Love your videos Ken, keep up the great work. We know it takes a team.
@WaterBug46 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree. Once one becomes an AP holding local the vibe changes completely. A nice leisurely walk and dinner, or an early pre rope drop stroll with snacks and home before lunch. No hurries or agenda. I wish every park goer could experience a no drama day.

Can you recommend neighborhoods with the best schools? We are leaning in Montessori schools but open to public schools as well.

Come on over to Rosemont! The development got through the appeals process and is now in the permitting stage. Take the 429 straight to the mouse and a bigger ROI on your future home asset.

I think you need to make a lengthy video expanding on the “things to do”. That monorail crawl was a genius idea but I like many others aren’t the type to know of things to do (introverted).

Why does it seem that the areas of Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, Longwood and Apopka are rarely mentioned in real estate videos? Any particular reason? 😊

I talk about them on my lives all the time! They’re just a bit too far if you’re moving here specifically for the theme parks. I LOVE the areas you mentioned tho

Have you ever done a video for people specifically moving south for the winter? We plan to buy a vacation home but one thing I wonder about is if there are property management companies that can check on your home when you are states away part of the year? We would be looking for a single family home so no apartment/condos.
@kenpozek Жыл бұрын
Yep! There’s companies like total care that’ll do a vacant home check as often as you need. Many of my snowbirds end up using cameras and security to keep an eye on things while they’re gone.

We do go as annual pass holders for Disney and universal , but I’m evaluating Disney as I’m getting burnt out with it as mentioned, but we are getting pretty fed up with the constant price increases and getting less for the increase ,the latest increase of $15 each to use a fast pass/lightning three times , we was actually told by a cast member it’s not worth it and I agree , especially if you are a family of four , that’s going to work out really expensive. As for areas we are in windermere, we wouldn’t consider living anywhere south of the 192 .

Anyone can go to Disney-like theme parks. It’s nonsense that people make fun and laugh at people like that. There are adults in their 40s and above who play computer games. I applaud adults who can go and enjoy theme parks without the kids. Why shouldn’t they?
