The Flash flopped a long time ago at the cinema, yet the director Andrés Muschietti thinks the problem is that the movie didn't appeal to literally everybody. While it's true in this instance, is it even possible to make movies for everybody? Movie budgets have become so bloated that they might think this is a requirement, but isn't the actual solution to reduce the budgets so that they're profitable with the target market? Why is it controversial to even talk about target markets in the first place? And can Hollywood even be profitable until they accept that different shows should be made for different markets? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Well one reason I did not even bother watching the new flash shows is that was not the barry allen I grew up seeing in the comics. Blonde adult working in the crime lab. Honestly the 1990 tv series did it better then the newest one. Now if you think of it as a alternate universe it's not a problem the character age etc. but then the writing is what makes or breaks it and yeah even though I like the flash I could not watch that show.

The movie failed not because people don't like Flash, but because: - Ezra Miller compromised himself in the eyes of society; - Warners kicked out all the unsullied actors like Cavill and canceled their projects; - The movie was remade a bunch of times and it resembled a stupid hodgepodge; - The movie was about something everyone had seen in the TV series and animation; - A reboot was announced, which made the movie unnecessary; - Warner Bros. and DC Studios are idiots who don't know what they want.

"Which includes literally everybody." Wong! The four quadrants thing happens to exclude men and women who are *exactly* 25. The movie could have been an incredible success with 25-year-olds, and we'd never know, based on that grouping system! That would be a very niche target audience, though, and I doubt they could keep a film in the black, but they do exist.
@LaurenceBlunt
@LaurenceBlunt 11 күн бұрын
Well if I assume the smallest time period worth using is one second, everyone who lives past thier 25th birthday was exactly 25 for just that one second. A second before they are under 25 and a second after they are over 25, even if that is only 25 years plus one second. As such by the time you can say "people who are twenty five years old" you lost them.
@gustavgnoettgen

Yo, limes, I'm Californian and I watch your channel. We're not all crazy! Also, I'm in a wheelchair, and it would be pretty cool to see an actually good disabled actor in a good movie. But that doesn't mean I'm obsessed with seeing myself on screen. I wish more people like myself would be given an opportunity to act, but I understand the lack of interest, and the limited scenarios and situations that a movie with disabled people in it would have. I mean, I have cerebral palsy. However, I don't think I could watch a period piece where a group of spastic English people in wheelchairs try to pour each other tea. Or a movie where a quadriplegic tries to repair a space station using nothing but his mouth. Just a good movie with a good disabled actor who could repeat their acting in multiple roles. Kind of like Peter dinklage before he shat on his fellow actors, but in a wheelchair.

The "4 quadrants" comment confused me too because I thought the same thing "Isnt that literal everybody???" I'm so tired of Hollywood blaming women for superhero movies doing poorly. I grew up watching the Adam West Batman show reruns with my dad. Grew up watching the Batman movies, Spider-Man movies, X-Men movies, Daredevil, Elektra, Blade, Ninja Turtles movies and the cartoon, etc etc etc I throughly enjoy superhero films. The biggest issue they're having is theyre trying to make these movies now appeal to women. We women who are already fans of these movies don't want that...we just want good movies. Stop blaming us for when your movies don't do well. Also if James Gunn approves I can almost guarantee it's shit.

I agree, it really sucks being constantly blamed for a piece of media failing. For the past few years, studios have been continually and unfairly blaming men for their failures, and accusing us of being bigots and all sorts of other awful and untrue things after quite literally telling us "This movie isn't made for you." I know that most people just sort of shrug it off, but for me personally, being consistently told that I'm a terrible human being just for not watching a movie really hurts.

You can make a 4-Quadrant movie (I've heard National Treasure described as such) but it's really hard. It takes a lot of skill, a lot of luck, and you just have to choose the right topic/genre/theme for the movie. In any case, it's very risky to bet 200 million dollars (or more) on getting the formula right. Especially when you start off with so many challenges; Ezra Miller as the star, being part of the flailing DCEU, featuring a weird non-standard Super Girl instead of the version people know and sort-of love, etc...

This will have a big budget so it’s not going to fail. Big budget. Movies can fail and the reason they fail is because no one pays attention to one the audience and what they want and two the subject matter and if there’s any kind of already established lore and if you’re going against that and the third thing a two or three hour movie that is nothing more than a rather expensive light show that gets nauseating overuse of special effects is just as bad as not as lazy, writing and dumbass directors

As a kid born in 1984, I always knew that Transformers was for boys, My Little Pony for girls and Care Bears was for toddlers! That has basically stayed the same, guys love watching giants robots smacking the crap out of each other, it's very satisfying, it's why Gundam is popular among guys as well, though the Real Robot aspect sees it appeal to our love for things mechanical, for construction, machinery and how things work, it's also why Model Kits, Gunpla in particular, are popular, mainly among the dangly bit group, we like building stuff! There is, however, crossover! Not everyone who builds Gunpla is male, jus look at my mate and his wife! They build kits all the time, well, she can, when the crackpot cats aren't nicking the decals, Tamari! The same goes for My Little Pony, jus look at Friendship is Magic and the rise of the "Brony"! They also know who their target audience is, it's jus that it is so well written than jus about anybody can find enjoyment in it, can find something that appeals, that calls out to them! And I understand Lauren Faust has form in that regard as well!
