The updated numbers are as follows: 1 to 5 mining companions remain the same: 20% chance for +1 for each mining villager. 100% chance for +1 at 5 mining companions. 6 to 15 mining companions: 10% chance for +4 for each mining villager. 100% chance for +4 at 15 mining companions. 16 to 25 mining companions: 10% chance for +9. 100% chance for +9 at 25 mining companions. 26 and beyond: 10% chance for +16

I'm such a dork that I didn't like any of the OG paths and have deleted all of it and refused to lay it down. These new border paths are so much better to look at and I don't have to double craft anything because I never crafted any paths to begin with. Yay for laziness and particular taste, I suppose.

While doing your mining route , I noticed that twice in 40ish minutes - the timed extra resources thing happened ( you know - the one that also happens while harvesting / foraging ) - sorry I hope that makes sense I don't know how to word it- is that event completely random? Have you done a video on it yet ?

Now see, I 'thought' that's what was going on with the companions. I guess now I need to go checkout my list. I wonder what the 'optimal' number of companions is to balance all the bonuses?

Honestly, there is no perfectly optimized list. A list that is perfect for one player will not be perfect for the next. It depends on what you spend a majority of your time doing. For example, I spend my time decorating and mining, so this list is perfectly balanced for me. If you're just looking to spread the proffessions evenly then you could do 5 villagers per proffesion which would garauntee moderate duplication no matter what task you're working on. However, duplicating things like fish and fruit just isn't as beneficial in my opinion and just feels like a waste. 😄

I'm glad you were able to track it down! The best way to get seaweed fast is simply fishing in open water (not in any of the grey, blue, or gold circles) with a level 10 fishing companion!

I lock my mining buddies behind a fence and it works just fine? Was it fixed in the update or something?

Oh, your mining companions will still drop items for you even if you lock them behind a fence! Some players thought it made them drop "extra" or "even more" than they would if they followed you. It's a common misconception, which is why I included the information in the video. 😁 If you want to lock your companion behind a fence and claim all of your mining rewards at once, that's fine. Just inlcuding the fact that you'll get the same amount of duplicates from them regardless of whether or not they follow you. Cheers! 😁

OH! By the way! The numbers in this video have completely changed as of the latest update! They got a HUGE buff! Now mining villagers from 6-15 give you a 10% chance at +4 instead of +2! Meaning at 15 mining villagers, you'll always get a +4 duplicate. 16 - 25 mining companions will grant you a 10% chance at +9! So, at 25 mining companions, you'll always get a +9 duplicate! 26 and beyond gives you +16! (1 - 5 companions is still the same though. Just a 20% chance for +1) Keep in mind that these bonuses apply to all other professions!
