Great analysis. I’m not a lawyer, but I’ve been serving as an expert witness in civil litigation for 25 years & so have read a lot of complaints, answers, motions, and rulings. And, yes, that’s as brutal a putdown of a motion as I’ve ever read. 😂 Discovery is going forward. Pass the popcorn.

Once the protection of money is gone, Disney doesn't have a leg to stand on in court! Imagine if all of those court cases they have been through, they couldn't stall until the other party couldn't afford the lawyers anymore. Disney would not have as many IPs as they have now, and they definitely would not have nearly as much money as they have now!

What *Star Wars* needs now is a true "Renaissance" and I feel it will only ever come when KK is gone for good from Lucasfilm. It needs someone to come in who is a real *Visionary* and can bring some whole new ideas into the franchise, and really move things beyond even the "Skywalker Saga".

@@Jordan-Ramses There have been good sequels, look at Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire trilogy, the starwars Invasion comic series and Yuzahn Vong. I like Attack on Titan and Battlestar Gallactica those are the only things I like out of that list you gave; but *Star Wars* is my favorite franchise of all time. I'd say most fans do want a continuation of the starwars franchise with new and original stories told specifically in the "Galaxy Far, Far Away" they just want starwars to be treated with respect.

Even if Disney somehow was able to hide everything they did and not get slammed with destruction of evidence charges, there's still the possibility that the Disney Files and other exposes can be introduced as evidence of Disney's toxic company culture. They wont win a case on their own, but they'll show that Gina's not an isolated case.

You're right about Disney's power being able to grind their cases out and bleed the other side as far as the cost of litigation. I knew that this motion was going to be denied. The court will never cut a plaintiff's ability to pursue their damages without discovery. She's already gotten past the motion to dismiss. I'll bet that the reason why Disney is able to waste money like this on these motions is because they have a high SIR with their insurance company, and so during the litigation they will basically be running the show, but when it's time for settlement their damages are capped and the insurance company has to kick in.

To be honest, I actually think that law preventing people from firing people for a difference of opinion is a good law. If you were allowed to be fired because of a difference of political opinion outside the workplace, that would create a chilling effect on political discourse. As bad as the current political divide is right now, that would just make it much worse. So I hope they keep it.
