Agreed. I’m hoping more comes down the pipeline. Since 2020 parades still aren’t back and there’s been no news on Fantasmic. Then you have Disney nickel and dimming costumers by getting rid of perks like fast passes or the magical express. I’m going to Cedar Point soon and I’m going for a fraction of the cost of Disney.

Hi Brayden, I work in the construction industry and can tell you that the delays with Tron are almost certainly related to supply chain issues. Without materials no work can go forward. That’s why you don’t see any workers on site. Can Disney do anything about this? Not really, the raw materials needed to make some of these items are out of their control. On top of this a large amount of the labor to produce these materials have not come back to work. I can tell you from personal experience that all construction and manufacturing trades have been impacted severely by a labor shortage. Nobody wants to work. So we’ll have to wait a little longer.

I like that they didn't wrap the entire monorail. The design hasn't really changed since '71 and keeping most of that exposed during the 50th seems appropriate.

Excellent as always Brayden! I don’t understand why Disney funds underproducing projects and underfunds ones that are talking in the money. Seems to me they should double down on the things that being in the most money and figure out how they should just tweak the ones that aren’t doing well until they begin performing better. It’s like they are purposefully shouting themselves in there foot. Unlike Universal, who finds something people like and they expand on it to bring in more and more people. I’m afraid after Universal Orlando opens their Epic Universe, which is going to be huge, that they will take a lot of the thunder away from WDW, who keeps cutting back and charging more. As a former pass holder, I’m not encouraged to visit WDW anytime soon. All the 50th signage is just lipstick and rouge to me. They are providing nothing of substance to get me back thru the gates, and in fact creating a lot of disincentives to keep me away. It’s a shame, because I used to really love going to Disney when I felt they wanted guests to come and when they made every entrant feel like an honored guest. Now it’s like we have to pay thru the nose for the privilege to have them let us see their parks and give us mediocre service. I feel like Disney went from being the gracious and welcoming Cinderella to her mean step sisters who just want to take all they can from you then throw you out. It is not the same company that Walt left, and hasn’t been for sometime, but has morphed into a money hungry Hydra that when one stream of income gets cut off, it grows two more. I’m just hoping that the Disney company eventually gets someone in there who is more like Walt, and sees the consumer as more important than a disposable item they need to bleed dry of money and then discard them like trash. I’m hoping one day they focus more on customer retention.

I completely agree. They are definitely giving very little substance with this “celebration.” I just think back to my days as a VIP guide and GR cast member. I cared about my guests and always anticipated their needs. It’s a service style that is very much lacking in the parks today. How many new attractions “rides” has the Magic Kingdom received since the 25TH Anniversary in 1996? It’s so baffling.

Brandon, regarding Tron. Each of Those panels requires a whole set of microchips that is why there is a delay. This is Due to the international chip storage! Additionally, a lot is occurring the ‘gravity box’ which you can not see!!

To an extent but how long as Tron taken? It was announced what 4 years ago? Universal took only a year to build velosicoster and about 1.5 years to build Hagrid’s magical motorbike adventure , both of which are brand new coasters and not a clone like Tron. Tron should have been open before 2020..

Thank you ...great update...the state of the 50th is the monorail wrap in a nutshell...not the whole train just one car.. and nothing announced truly before. You have to be surprised, the water pageant was announced a week before..still the greatest irredesent paint and light celebration on earth..still no railroad, still no special events one new ride..the most un-Disney Disney celebration..I will be there in December..it will cost so much more but getting less.. multi billion $ company can't get things done..chapek says maximize revenue , better manage resources (lower value). It seems thing keep breaking down, maintenance is lacking.. you are right about Disney short comings ... you do a great report..thank you..

I didn't realize that the projectors for Philharmagic were being updated, but I'm glad. The show isn't for me, but I thought that the new Coco scene with updated animation would be jarring within the context of the rest of the show. If they can update all the scenes or projectors, perhaps we'll eventually get an update to Tough to be a Bug. The 3D hasn't aged well for these attractions, and a nice little refurb is definitely needed.

So when can we expect the RAILROAD train back hopefully before the End of the 50th depends on the Progress of Tron Build up I hope some Progress there the next months because it is nice the Main Street Station got some Style for the Celebration but without the Train that is part of that Accomplishment of 5 Decades should be Part of the 18 month Celebration and hopefully not being still Closed for too long already.

The resort looks fantastic! One knit-pic. Ive discussed It with you before. I’ve even tried convincing myself that Sleeping Beauty drifted off while drawing it, but something still irks me about the “5” in the 50th logo. It’s so non committal. It’s like meh: 50th 45th, 25th whatever, I’m here.

In 18.04 minutes you have confirmed for a far greater audience what my friends have observed (those who still hold annual passes purchased before price increase). Smoke and Mirrors!!! Being of an older generation we recall the Wendy's commercial "Where's The Beef?". They reported exactly what you to have observed. Cheap statues, new paint, cheap signs, new attempts to hide abandoned and piles of construction material for what most now think are also abandoned attractions, abandoned Typhoon Lagoon, hole in the ground formally a fountain, abandoned train, abandoned Wonders of Life, abandoned Ellen's Energy Adventure. They to have noted the grossly overpriced new merchandise. The comment I have heard most often is "Where is the Magic?"

A note about the "Fab 50" statuary. There are NOT 50 statues. There are 36 statues that feature 50 characters. This is important only if you are the kind of person who would seek out all of the statues to get photographs of them. So, if that's you, look for 36, not 50 statues. It's a minor point, but to some folks, it could be a key detail.

I love your videos. I just came back from my visit and I was very disappointed in the attention to detail and the paint job on main street. Main street to me doesn't look like the turn of the century street. Looks more like a average neighborhood where all the buildings were painted. Overall it looks cheap and shoulds how hungry they are for the big buck. Thank you.

Disney has a lot of money tied up in the Lake Nona project and relocating 2000+ employees from California. Florida is still having an employment force issue finding the right workers for jobs especially laborious jobs, which might be contributing to the slow build of Tron at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy Ride at EPCOT.
