I think the Tomorrowland speedway should be kept, but rethemed to either Wreck-It Ralph (Sugar Rush) or Cars. Wreck-it Ralph could look more impressive with all the candy theming though.

+Kyranthia lucky XD Wreck-It-Ralph can be used for almost anyride they want to revamp. They can change Test Track or the TL speedway to a sugar rush speed way. Or they are even making a moana volcano ride or maybe hotel soon, why dont they make the diet cola mountain and make a ride based off the unfinished bonus level.

Good show! I think they'll take out the bugs land area for marvel before touching the employee parking lot, just because the backside of ToT was not painted or themed!

My daughter still loves the Tomorrowland Speedway, but she agrees that she'd be fine with something sufficiently cool (like the Shanghai Tron coaster, say) replacing it. The problem isn't so much that it's old or that it's a kiddie ride, it's that there is nothing distinctive about it. Lots of large and small amusement parks have these Autopia-style rides. Canobie Lake Park, for instance, has two of them. The only thing that distinguishes Disney's from the rest is that it is somewhat larger and has a lot of lanes. And it takes up a lot of space for a ride that doesn't have a huge amount of capacity.

I'm going to presume the Parks are still managed the way it was set up by Walt...as long as an attraction draws enough visitors, it stays. Only when it goes below a certain threshold would an attraction be replaced/removed...in simple English, if there are still lines with wait times no need anything with something new.

I'm for replacing the Tomorrowland Speedway, as it's outdated and doesn't fit in with the rest of Tomorrowland. At the Disneyland Resort I think remodeling the area between Frozen at the Hyperion and Mission Breakout would make Mission Breakout more immersive and overall look better. I think Marvel will make a great fit. I could see them closing Star Tours after Star Wars Land opens at Disneyland and relocating the simulators to DCA, reprogram them as the Iron Man Experience in a new or unused building like in Hong Kong, and the Star Tours building get a new attraction when Disney updates Tomorrowland.

Tbone1725 agreed, Star Tours days are numbered, although them moving the simulators to DCA is actually more costly than it sounds. They'll probably replace Stat Tours with a different IP driven simulator. Early plans actually don't have iron man having his own ride... which is actually disappointing

Star tours is one of my favorite Disney rides ever and I consider one of the classics up there with haunted mansion, pirates of the Caribbean, space mountain, etc.. I can see it staying at Hollywood studios, due to being fairly close to Star Wars land, only being blocked off by muppets, but for Disneyland, I don't know.

They could just re skin speedway with some sort of Cars theme. I could totally see it being the Piston cup race where you could drive in Lighting Mcqueen.

The thing that makes me think they might keep Star Tours going for a while is just that Star Wars Land is going to be so swamped on opening, it'll make Pandora look like a C-ticket. If there isn't enough capacity in the new rides there, people are going to be disappointed and they're going to want their Star Wars fix. Star Tours might look outdated next to those rides, but it is still fun enough that it could take some of the pressure off.

Too bad Adventureland seems off the table. I would love to see Magic Kingdom get its own version of The Indiana Jones Adventure. The Speedway is a staple at MK. While most adults do not enjoy the bumpy ride, fumes or noise, kids love it. "Turnpikes" are disappearing from theme parks all over the country. I "learned to drive" at King's Island which originally had four separate tracks, two for antique cars and two for "sports cars" like Magic Kingdom has, but now has none of them left. Would rather see them using the undeveloped land behind Rivers of America first. It would push the park out toward the railroad berm and make it more like Disneyland where you can see activity from nearly anywhere along the train route.

Couldn't agree more! Tomorrowland is already congested, a new E-Ticket there will be a nightmare. The Magic Kingdom needs to focus on spreading out crowds and Adventureland is begging for a new attraction, perhaps Magic Kingdom's 4th mountain.. Anyways thanks for watching and commenting!

I know a lot of people would like to see speedway gone. But it's a good interactive ride for the toddlers. I would like to see them move to electric cars with an engine sound to get rid of all the fumes though.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of people who are okay with losing the Autopia at Disneyland and the speedway at Disney World. These are attractions that I never ride on any of my Disney trips and I would love to see replaced with something like the Tron cycle coaster.

That what i here will happen here in Disneyland California Tomorrowland will be losing there Autopia speedway. I hop that they will get back to making this land about the future not about the past, i would like to see them moveStar Tours - The Adventures Continue the ride and bring something new there or change it for something with the same ride cars and mack it new. we now will have a star wars land and i think they should move it there.

Tomorrowland speedway needs to be replaced. I'd say either revamp fontierland with a brand new ride expansion or Tomorrowland needs to redo Stitch's great escape and replace the speedway

While I did grow up with Speedway, I personally do agree that it could stand to be replaced. For me, it's not as aesthetically pleasing as the rest of Tomorrowland and considering the rumor that the Tron Coaster from Shanghai will replace it, I'm all in. I do agree Stitch should remain top priority to be replaced in Tomorrowland, however, and should be the first to go. While I personally haven't been to DCA, it seems that a Marvel land is the next logical step. Considering the current makeup, it seems to be shifting to a theming very similar to Hollywood Studios. It'd be cool to bring the Iron Man Experience to the west coast (maybe replace innoventions? Not sure what that building is right now). I also want to add that while I adore the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, I'm very much in the camp that wants to see it in DHS 😂 Considering the direction DHS is going, I think it'd be a lot of fun, even if it was an adaptation in a show building like Dinosaur (You'd have to make sure it wasn't too close to mummy's design, though, lol)

ldhthunderhead :) Talks about an Indiana Jones ride in DHS are in the works, it would be after Star Wars Land opens and would be part of a bigger expansion dubbed "Phased 3", this will also include a boat ride (at the moment).

Remove Stitch and make a new ride or show in the space, one that DOESN'T Just reuse the mission to mars theater setup....... And honestly.... I don't know how much the tomorrowland speedway differs from autopia in Disneyland, but as long as Autopia stays so there is still something like it, I think you could change the ride or at least re-brand it

As a kid, I'd be begging for Speedway to stay. But now, I think it should go. It doesn't fit the theme of Tomorrowland at all. Plus, it takes up a good amount of space. Let's just hope Disney uses that space well...

My family and I have gone on the speedway more times than we can count. We have absolutely no idea why Disney would consider taking out such a great ride like the speedway. If anything, we think that Stitch's Great Escape or The Laugh Floor should be removed for new rides. We also agree that it would be so cool to see the Fire Mountain that was mentioned in the video. Comment on this if you agree.

Unfortunately?!?! ....you mean FORTUNATELY! The speedway needs to go... I don't care if it's not even replaced, it's inappropriate for TL ....and a horrible ride compared to any other Disney ride especially Disneyland's version. It's just a wast of space. In fact I would like to see all of Tomorrowland (Space Mt, Etc) completely moved to EPCOT as part of a remake of the futuristic area with a new area being "dystopic future world."
