Gotta say, I this this was an improvement over their Dracula adaptation, keeping the gothic atmosphere and much of the original plot (certainly more than you'd expect) while still keeping it appropriate for family audiences. I'll grant that the dracula adaptation was certainly more batshit, making for an arguably more entertaining tale, but I feel Duckenstein has a better balance of spooky/disney elements.

So we've got a Disney story adapting a classic Monster story in a comic review show about Halloween that ends on a bumper themed around Doctor Who? Strangely, I can't say that's the most bizarre thing I've seen this month... Anyway, glad my bumper made it in for the second year in a row! Definitely gotta do this again next year too!

This Duckenstein review followed by the choice of ending clip that is Doctor Who inspired has to be my favourite of this years Longbox so far. The lesson is that if I want to be a profitable artist, I need to follow Moarte's advice and draw lots of monsters... or porn. Wait a sec, does that mean that monster porn will make me mega-rich!?

The look of this comic is really impressive.They managed a moody gothic look on top of disney without either being odd. Also; does Moarte eat people who just finished horror comics (You finished the comic and I finish you so nothing goes to waste)

There was also a goofy comic about goofy being dr Frankenstein it’s a little weird with a ending that has the monster writing a successful biography and signing copies of it to a line of people who were previously the mob that tried to kill him.

There was comic book called 'Moby Duck' back in the 70s. (Not a whale, but a sea faring spinoff character.)

@@teedup8995 Yup. He also started out as a whaler, but otherwise had nothing to do with the novel. (I don't think he ever caught a whale, and that part of the backstory was phased out when whaling became... suspect.)

It's a pun in the Italian original. Cardboard in Italian is "cartone". The generic umbrella term for animated shows is "cartoni animati". Hence, if you want to animate something that is drawn... And also the remark about kids loving the creature.

Does anyone know who Captain Gus Walton at 0:37 and Professor Von Olduck at 2:13 are supposed to be? I recognise most of the characters from Ducktales except for them (Donald, Scrooge, Daisy, Gladstone, Huey, Dewey and Louie and Gyro)

Ducktails is a different continuity than the comics. Also, this is originally an Italian production and the Italian comics continuity is slightly different thatn the original Barks ducks comics continuity, albeit not much.
