Omg, I also have a Lily James aversion I can't explain that started with Downton. So far I haven't watched Cinderella but I've been told that it was a good one so maybe I'll give it a chance

I think the reason for the cynicism is that a large number of these remakes add nothing or are worse than the originals when all the money and talent could be expended with new and different stories

Yes to Cinderella, the movie. Animated Cinderalla was bad mouthing her abusers behind their backs and didnt shy away from fighting Lucifer the cat. I wish, they had kept that aspect in the live-action as well. I'm also didnt understand the success of The Beauty and the Beast: the dress didnt give, the Beast didnt give, the voice didnt give. That's a no from me. 🙅🏾‍♀️

My favorite was Aladdin. I thought Mulan, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella were all awful. But I’m not a huge fan of costumes / design so that could be why. Still need to watch The Little Mermaid. Your review convinced me to watch The Jungle Book also!!

I’m glad you enjoyed Aladdin like I did, even if the others weren’t your favourite. I would highly recommend The Jungle Book remake and The Little Mermaid of course! ☺️

i’m sorry but the little mermaid was just not it. halle was great at singing, but her facial expressions were completely off compared to the animated one, she can’t act. the cgi was not great except for ariel’s tail. the only cute things in the movie were eric and vanessa STOP, the animals were terrible, the ending part was horrible, why they didn’t put the blue glittery dress?? the dresses were all very awful, im sorry y’all tlm and aladdin are objectively the worst live action movies
