Something about the reassurance from your family, mainly parents, that you are worth more than gold to them is something incredibly special. That’s why I got them emotional feels right away. I cried hearing this in the theatre when the trailer was playing before Rise of Skywalker. There's something about these epic instrumental versions of Disney songs (also cried during the instrumental for the "live-action" Beauty and the Beast) that just gets the emotions flowing.
@puruvijay61854 жыл бұрын
True, Disney does know how to make legendary trailers. Just look at Rise of Skywalker final trailer(the epicer than epic one). For an OK movie, they made it so damn nostalgic. Watching that trailer on loop for 2 hours was a better experience than watching Rise Of Skywalker. I too hope that's not the case with this movie.

i’m glad disney isn’t making the same mistake with their other live action remakes in trying to make the same movie twice. i like to see something original and different, and think if any disney movie was to be remade, it should be mulan. while the first film is a classic, it didn’t accurately portray chinese culture and swayed away from the original tale of mulan. i’m glad that they are using the orchestra to incorporate the emotions we felt from the original into the live action format. i think this will be the best disney live action adaptation yet!
@madamehoefyre18085 жыл бұрын
Mulan, Pocahontas, and Hunchback of Notre Dame are really the only three Disney films from the Disney Renaissance that really deserve remakes. Mulan and Hunchback had a lot of tonal issues, and like you said with Mulan it's portrayal of Chinese culture was very minimalistic and at times down right offensive (I'm one of the few who doesn't like Mushu as he's just a westernized dragon). And Pocahontas... As a whole is a mess in that it treats colonialism as this thing that happened but everyone got over, and it's just one of those films that I think with today's sensibilities would be much better appreciated and handled.
@juneil-b5 жыл бұрын
Dika Poussey true I am half chinese and I love the animated movie so much, but other of my relatives didn’t, mushu was said a form of insult to the chinese community because the Dragon symbolism is too sacred for chinese and that’s why in advertising a dragon is not used but rather a panda. And oh I think Pocahontas doesn’t need a remake tbh, the original story (Pocahontas was real) is too sensitive and Pocahantas was only a child when smith arrived historically and real speaking. So yeah I think that story should be left untouched again

As much as I love Mulan, one thing I will admit is missing from the animated version (I haven’t seen the live action and I don’t know if I will) is a reprise of Reflection, where her journey of self-discovery comes full circle. That would’ve been amazing.
@apersonwhomayormaynotexist986811 ай бұрын
At just after a minute when the "why is my reflection someone I don't know" line is playing, it completes up which is different from the actual song. Also just after this in the quiet part one of the notes was changed into a slightly more dissonant version. I assume there are other differences I'm not noticing, and the harmony probably has differences I'm not noticing, but at least in the melody there are differences

Well, this was about a family Who had no male heirs and the poor old dad had to go to war (out of defense)so the daughter had involuntarily take his place as the father was in poor shape to fight and likelihood of her father getting killed in battle is 100%. As the "male" in the family without her fathers knowledge, she disrespected her father for lying but it was a justified cause. The huns weren't there for destruction, they were there to have the city submit to their demands and surrender. But both sides had pride and there's no compromise. They could have pleaded to the kingdom that their father was in Poor shape to fight and that his presence in a battlefield would just bring his demise and the future of the family is unknown. This happened in real history and the women died but were not recognized.

And I got months of healing and recover. Now I'm already in the new journey of my life, where my mentality is at its best, with my beloved ones. @Jordan Powell The live action remake is bad and not just because of mushu not being in it (though that does suck) They gave mulan cHi eNeRgY which is like saying that she needs powers to be able to be as strong as a man. In the original ballad the lesson is that shes just like us and that anyone could be mulan but now with the cHi eNerGy it ruins that. Also the actor who plays mulan is problamatic and supports the hong kong police. More things that are problomatic include Disney filming the movie right next to a muslim internment camp and then thanking the people who let them use the spot, calling them great.

@olafsolem71423 жыл бұрын
@@yonathanandrewpardede4538 At the location where they filmed the live action Mulan there was a muslim internment camp next to the set and disney acted like it wasn't there. They then thanked the people who owned the camp for letting them film there.

This song makes me cry every time. I think this was one of the movies that most impacted me as a child. I was born with both male and female traits (intersex) I was chosen to be a girl but never felt that fit. In the original song when she expresses her sadness in disappointing her parents for not being a perfect daughter it always hurt me because I felt the same. I didn’t want them to be ashamed of me, but inside I’ve always been a boy. It gave me courage to see that when you’re true to yourself, even though it may hurt your parents at first they can be proud of you later on for making a difficult choice.

OMG THANK U. IM CRYING A LOT RIGHT KNOW. Mulan was the first Disney animation I really love the most, because her character and story so different with another princess2 in her era. And I remember my brother is the first person who bring me to studio when I was 8, and now his in heaven. So yass. The animation have a such great memory for me, and I wish this live action from Disney as great as Beauty and the beast💓

Look at me I will never pass for a perfect bride, or a perfect daughter Can it be I'm not meant to play this part Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself I would break my family's heart Who is that girl I see Staring straight back at me Why is my reflection someone I don't know Somehow I cannot hide Who I am, though I've tried When will my reflection show, who I am, inside How I pray, that a time will come I can free myself and meet their expectations On that day, I'll discover someway to be myself And to make my family proud They want a docile lamb No-one knows who I am Must there be a secret me I'm forced to hide Must I pretend that I am someone else for all time When will my reflection show, who I am inside When will my reflection show, who I am inside
