I agree, that line would have been better suited for that end. Also, the ending theme for the credits is pretty calming. Nice walkthrough!

I spent my childhood playing this game and the old Sonic Genesis games. I could beat this game on Hard mode and never need a continue. I knew where all the secrets were, and kicked butt at the Bug Hunt and Bug Drop bonus games. Executing the roll attack on the old genesis controller was damn hard and there were no save states. 3 hours in one sitting, and the roll attack required you to "roll" your thumb across the three genesis buttons.

I like this version of The Lion King, for Super NES. I have that in my basement right now.

Well only in the game version of Lion King where the fight against Scar is more extended. Plus you get to swipe the hell out of him as many times as you want for him killing Mufasa and that just really fuels you up to confront and defeat him in the final showdown. In the movie the fight between Simba and Scar lasted short while in slo mo but still the ending of it was epic.

Simba's Exile level was my biggest problem. This game was great, and you did really good in this walkthrough. Major props to you, good sir.

It's whatever button you use to make him go on his hind legs and swipe. Use that same button when he's panting and when you're close to him, and it should work.

I once played the Genesis games at a friend's house, but I never owned them. The earliest console/handheld I owned was a SNES and Gameboy. I can beat this game on Hard too. Once I got past the Elephant Graveyard, everything was pretty easy.

1:43 there is no fall damage so there is no need to grab ledges on the way down. Also where did you get the other ladybug (haven't seen the other videos). I remember there's one in the Pridelands level below that porcupine, but that doesn't bring the health up that much.

As I explain in the annotations, you have to keep hitting him until he starts panting, then use X to throw him. When you're fighting him for the third time, just keep throwing him towards one side, then eventually throw him off of the edge. I hope that helped! :)

Well, don't worry too much about that, because this game is tricky to get used to, and all you need is some time to playing this multiple times, just keep trying and you'll get it. You have gotten to level 8 at least before.

Just like Jarno said, download DosBox which is a 100% free emulator. Then find the game and download it somewhere, then run the game through DosBox. There's a full tutorial how to run games through DosBox. You can also get the ZSNES emulator which allows you to play SNES games. I used that one instead because I found that the DOS version is very glitchy.

it does not do anything for me if i push the X button, Simba jumps if I press the "space" and he roars if I press the " CTRL" and when I push SHIFT he scrobs. But I can not use X. Or can I? How? It also depends on your control configuration in the game options. I'll put it this way, whatever key you use to get Simba to maul, as in he gets on his hind legs and slashes with front paws, that's the one you want to use when Scar is panting, otherwise Scar gets on top of Simba and mauls him to death.

I've been observing your videos really closely, but I can't seem to figure out how to do the move when you jump on an (exhaused) enemy and hit him five times. I'm playing this on the PC (DOS).

Yeah, but still, I didn't master the mauling move. The rolling/throw move however I did master.

Oh, well, I haven't played this in a little while, but according to a walkthrough on GameFAQs, "to Downswipe, hit down and X while above an enemy and Simba will slash down at him." So I guess if you are using the default controls, jump on an enemy, and try to hit down and X and it should work. Hopefully that helps, if you decide to make a note of it in your walkthrough or something. :)

Watch the walkthrough for details, but there's one hidden in level 5, level 6, level 9, and if you last long enough in a bug hunt, you get a health bug.
