Hey growing your own food isn’t THAT bad. When I move to Vancouver Island I plan to have my own Tomorrowland-style garden, growing things like tomatoes, romaine lettuce, peas, strawberries...you know, tasty, crunchy stuff!

You just have to be wary of deer, bunnies, squirrels and other critters. They will eat a TON of stuff out of the garden if it’s not fenced in properly.

Tomorrowland has changed sooo much! All the lands have (remember the Skyway to Tomorrowland from the Swiss Chalet in Fantasyland that passed THROUGH the Matterhorn?). When I was a little kidling growing up in SoCal in the 80s and 90s, there was a lovely Mary Blair mural, in the style of the Small World kids, along the upper walls as you entered the land. Even as a little one, I was very sad when it was removed (covered up?) with the new Jules Verne-esque theming. The Rocket Jets were so much cooler than the Astro Orbiter! Mission to Mars was awesome. Circle Vision was fun. The People Mover was chill. Later, Rocket Rods scared me to bits! It was so shaky!!

The Rocket to the Moon was such a great experience when I was a kid. We didn't have such high expectations way back then but boy, it was just like what you would imagine being in a rocket ship. Times, they are a changin.
@reneecormalis6246 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you weren't able to go on that. Sitting around that opening in the middle and watching the "taking off" of the ship while the seats sort of slumped. It was amazing. That was like a SUPER big deal to us. We didn't have all the gadgets and super high tech stuff back then but we had the rocket to the moon!! HEY, do you have a p.o. box. I know you might not get people wanting to send you stuff but I would love to send you something as a thanks for all the great videos.

18,000,000 miles is 72 times from the Earth to the moon. 36 round trips. That's given the moon is 250,000 miles from the Earth. Still loving the videos! The original contractor (and sponsor) of the Submarine Ride in 1959 was "General Dynamics". The rockwork at the TL entrance is the same as that as Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris in 1992. It represents a "past civilization". In the original Star Tours attraction, they included the "Mighty Microscope" from "Journey Through Inner Space". Get a look at the book: "DL The Nickel Tour" by my Imagineer friends David Mumford and Bruce Gordon. (P.S. NCC-1701!)...

Tomorrowland, a future place, filled with amazing attractions, great food, and awesome entertainment, plus some driving on Autotopia, but the best part of Tomorrowland is one of my favorite rides where you go on a trip, on your favorite rocketship, zooming high to the galaxy, its Space Mountain, I love how it flies in the amazing galaxy with an awesome soundtrack, so totally galactic.
@tatohead6 жыл бұрын
I miss the non-Nemo version of the Submarine ride. Also, one of my claims to fame is having ridden the very short-lived "Rocket Rods" ride (1998?) which ran on the People Mover track. And speaking of People Mover, remember that Tron tunnel?
@kidwajagstang6 жыл бұрын
The TRON tunnel was my favorite part of Disneyland as a kid, despite all the crazy awesome things in Disneyland. I miss it tremendously. Funny thing is, I’ve been a Star Wars fan as long as I can remember, but only recently became a HUGE TRON fan just prior to Legacy’s release as the ElecTRONica setup in CA Adventure absolutely blew my mind! So, as a child, I was subconsciously already becoming a TRON fan as I loved that part of the Peoplemover just slightly more than Star Tours, which was easily my second favorite Disneyland attraction behind that TRON tunnel..
@mayspondmogul6 жыл бұрын
Same I loved the Tron tunnel as a lil kid it was mind blowing! And as a teen in 98 I rode the Rocket rods they didnt have the cool themeing of the Peoplemover but on the straight aways it flew and made a futuristic sound. The 80s and 90s at Disneyland were Awesome!
@kidwajagstang6 жыл бұрын
My family went to Disneyland probably 4-5 times for 3 days each time while Rocket Rods was an active attraction. Each time, we waited in line, it was shut down before we got to ride it. We did get to ride in the Lilly Belle train car, however, as compensation for a mistake, so that was super special, as they didn’t allow non VIP’s at the time. The employees rode with us, and not sure if they got in trouble or commended for letting us in

I wasn’t the only one that thought I was an awesome kid for braving the speed and the thrill of Space Mountain🤣 It was my Dads fav ride, so I thought if I got to ride with him, WOW! If I made it through, WOW!😎 I absolutely love all of your videos! I’m working my way through them! I have wondered always why the monorail trains are so diff at DL than at WDW? I also like that it is a real V2 rocket (with legs) in TL above the Pizza Port. Berner Van Braun, Nazi engineer and the first head of NASA along with John Hench came up with the original Moonliner that is still there today. There is also an echo spot outside of Launch Bay, hidden Mickey shadow in Star Tours queue (under the baskets), and remains of the Skyway to Fantasyland. I am binging a bit today!

One remark to the Monorail: If Disney stays consistent with the numbering and you are travelling with a Mark VIII model, then you are probably at Disney World ;-) (Which is supposed to happen during the next years). Since the introduction of the Mark IV Monorail at Disney World, they have alternated the updates between both ressorts. Since then, Disneyland features the odd numbers and Disney World the even numbers. In DIsneyland, the next model in Disneyland is very likely to be the Mark IX then.

Thanks for a wonderful video. If all of the Space Mountain trips total 18 million miles then that equals about 36 trips to the moon (the moon is just under a quarter of a million miles distant, and so each round trip is about half a million miles).
