The elephant is awesome! The real Lucy the Elephant is much bigger, they're in Margate City near Atlantic City and weighs 90 tons! It comprises nearly one million pieces of wood, 200 kegs of nails, 4 tons of bolts and iron bars, and is covered in 12,000 square feet of tin. And yup, you know the crystal used in the chandelier is legit when it's hand-cut in Austria! The chandelier used to have a glass globe at the bottom, but the reason it no longer does is because the globe was a TIME CAPSULE that they opened during the WDW 50th celebration! The chandelier is way older than the Boardwalk Inn itself! The chandelier’s design was originally handcrafted in the 1920s at Coney Island by MC Illions, a manufacturer of merry-go-rounds and a master designer founded by Marcus Charles Illions. And below the chandelier is fittingly a scale model of a carousel created by MC Illions! Marcus was originally born in Lithuania in 1871 and he helped build circus wagons before moving to England where he started carving carousel horses and finally migrated to the US in 1888. At one point in the early 1900s, ten carousels carved by Illions operated in Coney Island! He ended up dying broke in 1949 as the 1930s Great Depression decreased demand for amusement products.

Yea! They have a plaque up about it in the lobby. I usually mention it in every boardwalk video haha but figured I had so many times! I love the historic amusement park things in the lobby. :)

Gotta love a classic Christmas village! I do one every year and it’s fun to collect new buildings so the village expands into a city! Looks like the nanny chair happily enjoyed your offering 😂. Nanny chairs were cast from original 1880 ones which were installed on 19th-century European carousels to offer caregivers a rest while their kids rode the ride. The rollercoaster model is the Flip Flap Railway, the US’s first looping coaster! It was built at Sea Lion Park on Coney Island in 1895 and lasted just seven years because it was known for causing neck injuries. Sea Lion Park would become Luna Park. Pretty sure Figaro wasn’t a reference to Pinocchio, but rather the fact that he is Minnie’s pet! After starring as Geppetto’s pet cat, he appeared as Minnie’s in shorts like Bath Day from 1946, First Aiders in 1944, and Pluto’s Sweater from 1949.

Theres something so comforting about the holidays in the Disney parks. Years ago, I took a holiday season trip to Orlando, and along with Universal and random holiday sights, I took time to visit Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Springs, and some of the hotels. I have lately been picking off peak times to visit the parks, but I really want to go back for a holidays trip again

I love Christmas time at Disney. The resorts are always decorated so beautifully and uniquely. Thanks for showing me the resorts Christmas trees. As a fellow lover of travel, it was great to see at 6:08 Lucy the Elephant at The Boardwalk. Lucy is one of the United States' oldest roadside attractions and still exists in Atlantic City (actually nearby Margate City). We visited Lucy based solely on seeing that statue in the lobby. It was amazing and we loved the Disney connection.

It’s a total surprise thing, you never know. Last year at wilderness lodge, there were characters out when I went, but this year they weren’t there. Totally lucked out at Boardwalk! They seemed to be there about 2-6pm on and off this day 💕

My mom and I are headed down to Disney for the holidays in less than two weeks. We are staying at beach club, but our favorite is boardwalk. This was just that kick of awesome I needed to get me through until the trip. I’ve been dreaming of seeing Disney at the holidays since I was very litte and soon it’s going to come true! Jackie, I am glad you have shown this. I didn't know that other resorts had gingerbread houses and stuff. We only have one day to go to resorts to see the decorations. That will be on black Friday. Saturday we spend the day at Epcot, then head home sometime on Sunday. It's just a short quick trip to spend with my oldest daughter and son in law before they drive up to Daytona for the rest of the following week.

We stayed at the Beach Club last year and absolutely loved it! It's nice having a short walk to EPCOT and we couldn't get our niece out of the pool because she loved the slide. BTW I thing your bangs and outfit were so cute!!

I love going to see the Gingerbread Houses. Did you check the Swan and Dolphin. I know in years pass they had beautiful deer on the front lawn and a chocolate house and Santa one time. My only down fall is that I like to collect a pin at each house. But I need to stop that, they are getting so expensive. Thank you so much for the preview.
