Dave Filoni is probably the most overrated individual in the history of Star Wars. He axed decades worth of goody storytelling with his Clone Wars series, a show that (if I’m being honest) receives far more praise than it deserves. While I used to like Ahsoka as a character, Dave seems to be scared beyond belief of letting her die, something that he has averted four times now (Mortis arc, leaving the Order, getting saved by Ezra in the World Between Worlds, and being outside the galaxy by the time of the sequels). Not to mention how sick I am of people saying that the Clone Wars is part of George Lucas’ vision for Star Wars and therefore the Expanded Universe doesn’t matter: he had barely any creative authority on TCW, and there were multiple occasions where EU authors had to alter their ideas because George vetoed them for not fitting what he wanted. They then use this to justify what Dave does with his shows and then sit back and clap their hands while he contradicts himself and his work for the 10000th time.

Only happened once, otherwise why would Grievous make it a point of bragging about being trained by Dooku. Wouldn't Obi-Wan know that already? Or all of the Dooku duels. Anakin only faced him twice, otherwise his lines in ROTS make zero sense. Didn't Yoda also battle Sidious in TCW? Or was that a vision? Honestly I've only seen pieces of TCW.

The whole arc feels a bit like an MMO quest line looking back. The part I dislike most about that show is probably what they did to the Nightsisters. Their portrayal prior to TCW actually made sense in the context of Star Wars, and then they went ahead and turned them into literal witches. At one point there is a scene where droids are attacking Dathomir (which was also drastically changed from a planet with several different climates into a blood red swamp and desert world), and Talzin uses an ability that I can only describe as something that anyone who has ever played a game with beefy melee enemies dreams of (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnfTnKyomr1knJo, skip ahead to 10:26 in that video if it doesn't take you there). If TCW is George's vision for Star Wars, then this also makes him look a bit on the shamelessly manipulative side, since the Nightsisters were not even his creation and he changed them into something completely different, assuming it was his idea to make them what they were in the show.

@@EmperorsWrath It will always be Korriban to me. I just don't care for the idea of Sidious and Yoda battling prior to ROTS, even it is a mindscape. I mean, wouldn't he know how dangerous he was and stayed behind, even in secret, to assist Mace? From my understanding, TCW also totally changed the Mandalorians from what they originally were in the EU. The TCWMMP had such a tight continuity in comparison. On the Lucas thing, I don't know how much influence he had vs Filoni. Filoni turning Ahsoka into his own little OC was probably most definitely not in Lucas' cards. I don't believe she was even meant to go beyond her role in The Clone Wars. Darth Plagueis seemed to take some cues from the TCW continuity like Maul's revised origin or referencing the Celestials. But it still called Korriban Korriban. But it gets a pass for being the almost perfect Star Wars story.
