Further than that though, they need to get the writers who have no skill but activism under their belt out. Disney’s goodwill is built of beautiful stories that inspired the next generation of children, and now their movies flop so badly they have to buy other studios to make a profit, like marvel and Lucas films. Then they insert their own “assets” (horrible writers) into those studios and the same plague on profits occurs. It turns out making a good product is necessary for making a good profit, and Disney has decided to go woke at all costs, as they even admitted to shareholders in a call. That’s when you can’t rightfully invest in Disney anymore. If peltz can’t get them to turn around I can’t invest in them, they openly told us they don’t care about making us money as investors, or making the customers something they actually want, and instead are driving an entire company, Walt’s beautiful legacy, into the ground for the sake of poorly made propaganda.

@user-li2yv5je5ethat only works short term though. The conman runs out of victims quickly. We see it in the gaming industry, where a few decades of escalating problems caused entirely by squeezing the customer and failing to make good products has lead to an upset. The “first AAAA game”, priced at 70 bucks, is going to flop like the others. At the same time, baldur’s gate, Lethal Company, Palworld, and Helldivers 2 are upsetting the market with varying budgets and manpower counts. They share lower prices, respect for original IPs and fans, passionate devs, and CEO’s and other admin staff that respect customers in general and understand that good capitalism isn’t acting like a ferangi, but serving your fellow man in the hopes to earn service to your own families.

I'm starting to get a sense that Iger's strategy has always been to spend Disney money on outside talent, sometimes acquiring that talent, then bleeding it dry for a hight, but short lived, return. They rode the wave of Pixar, then Pixar he started to not do as well, then they rode the wave of Marvel, now Marvel is in a decline, then they bought Fox to boost Marvel, now they're going to partner with Fortnite. Meanwhile, they've let their internal creative suffer. I think their present financial issues are the result of running out of steam, now Iger is going to start investing in more outside talent, instead of fostering what they already have. He's going to boost sales in the short term, retire again, and dump the problems he's creating on the next CEO.
@rogerk61807 ай бұрын
This is the path iger put them on and is an unavoidable one. Once you start buying already hyping ip to cash in on you enter a cycle you can not escape from. The simple truth is no hype lasts forever. Pixar was booming in the early 2000s because of the new arival of computer graphics. A decade on that hype started to die. Marvel was booming, a decade on that superhero hype is gona start dying as well etc. These things boosted income and profits by a lot. Once the hype dies revenu and profit starts to go down, which is a death spiral for any company. So because of these earlier aquisitions disney is now obligated to always buy a new hyping ip for A LOT of money to keep those numbers up. It can no longer live without new monster ip's that bring in billions and that it can ride for a few years. The thing is that the moment the hype dies on these ip's their value also disapears so it gets stuck loads of stale ip's it can no longer sell and that they incorperated into their parks. Marvel is over the hill now, their rides and lands will be old stale stuff in their parks 5 years from now as well. Things used to be timeless at disney, now things are all very temporary. It is a ponzi scheme they have build that requires aquiring new expensive hit ip's every few years and dealing with rapidly depreciating assets after they milked it temporarilly for huge profits. All this leaves no more money for long term organic growth of brands of their own. It will be the end of this company. This all works fine until they screw up eventually or something like universal manages to grab the new monster hype ip instead of them. It is a ticking timebomb.
@rickkarrer83707 ай бұрын
@@rogerk6180 well said! I think if they could just stop buying new IP, and Foster what they already have, they could continue doing well. Pixel and Marvel both have the same problem, their creativity was bled dry. All they really need to do is take the time to create quality stories (just like Disney’s own internal animation, did a few years back), and make sure creative people are in charge, not number people.

So, what Iger would "understand" from this comment, is to make sequels of successful IP to them integrate them into the physical entertainment atmosphere? I do agree look at what Universal is planning on doing with a Dreamworks area, all of the IP can be in one semi-coherent portion of the park. Now a concept like Mirrorverse (or previously Infinity) could make for a very interesting land, provided there is enough fan support.
@ytr51537 ай бұрын
In my personal opinion. Disney would be so much loved without its political-social position. They act sporadically with social movements rather important in California. But unaccepted througout the world. Respecting their fan base and stop chasing trends would settle a fan base and increase brand reputation in the entire world. Since they have become so "woke" seeking acceptance from all social-justice groups they have become alienated with their costumers values and preferences which once made what WDW company has become. As a very let down WDW childhood fan, I hope Universal Experiences becomes the leader in family friendly experiences. Providing a safe, non-political experience all around making them the "Disney" we all had and enjoyed for so long... But now we miss.

I’m a huge Disney fan and as a Florida resident, I was tempted to buy annual passes again for myself, wife and now my 3 year old daughter. I ended up just buying a two day pass and took my daughter to MK a couple weeks ago. It was extremely disappointing. The monorail stopped working in the morning so everyone had to take the ferry boat which made it take us an hour to get into the park. I had to shell out $75 to use lightning lane. The Belle meet and greet skipped the coolest part in the pre-show where you walk through the mirror. And the audio in Peter Pan must not have been working all the way because I could barely hear the music or any dialogue. But dealing with the rude guests during the fireworks show was what did it for me. One lady kept ramming her stroller into a man’s foot to make him move (which I’m glad he didn’t). We have one more day to use and I am NOT looking forward to it. 😅 But yeah I’m done with Disney world after this.

Was hoping to hear thoughts on Elon Musk going to a movie with his "friend" Nelson Peltz and "thinking about new companies to acquire"
@MickeyViews7 ай бұрын
I felt it was redundant in that we originally covered that Elon was working with Peltz shortly before they were pictured together, which just further confirms what we already knew. The deadline to buy stock to vote with at this year’s meeting passed on February 5th so I guess we’ll find out soon if Elon bought any shares or plans to boost Peltz’ publicity.

As always, excellent job in compiling and interpreting data and information about the most recent events of Disney and its board of directors! If I were part of the Disney organization, I would offer you a position as an advisor. 😎 Keep it up! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Commenting as I watch: Social goals? Wtfudge? They should have 2 main goals. 1) Make a product people actually want and enjoy. 2) Make money doing it so they can start over at #1. That’s it!

When i joined Roy and others to oust Eisner, the idea was not to let each who followed decimate the legacy of Walt... I apologise that we failed Walt and dream and the you, the mindless masses.

Even if Peltz doesnt win, I think this will be like the 2008 crash. Or any other crash in history everything was going great, then out of nowhere everything plummets. No matter what disney tries they cant avert this.

We own a combined 20 measley shares and have 2 votes in the upcoming election. We are voting FOR Peltz and Rasulo and WITHHOLD on Froman and Lagomasino.

Anyone who is a Disney stockholder might want to look closely at what you are voting for. Especially where Disney tells you how they want you to vote. Read carefully at the bottom of the card where Disney suggests you vote against.They are against requesting a report on political expenditures, a report on gender transitioning compensation, and they're against a report on recipients of charitable contributions. Why are they against these reports? What are they hiding? I don't trust this company anymore and they don't care at all about Disney guests. I'm voting for a change on the board. Thank you Brayden for another great video.

What exactly is wrong with Disney compensating gender affirming care?? There are many children and young people who are now discovering that they were born in the wrong body. They dislike their bodies, so we need to affirm those negative body perceptions by helping them permanently change their bodies. Many medical EXPERTS have established guidelines for transgender care, which may include pharmaceutical and surgical interventions. These guidelines were established through SCIENCE. If someone says they are making a decision based on science, then who are we to question them?? Do you have a science degree?? I’m pretty sure the only people capable of evaluating scientific research are the people who identify as scientists. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t include you! So let me guess: you also didn’t like when many pharmaceutical industry experts lobbied the Biden administration to enact an OSHA vaccine mandate based on the latest and best vaccine science? So you’re an anti-vaxxer, right?? People like you need to stay out of science-based decision and leave the science to the experts!!!

@@SnapChitAnd why do you think there is a huge increase of children thinking they were born in the wrong body? Hmmmm…🤔. Could that possibly have anything to do with social media influence? Also, children are not capable of understanding the implications of transitioning. The most liberal countries, Sweden, Finland, and the UK have halted (or severely limited) puberty blockers for children. They have done so due to the health risks potentially associated with those drugs.

what about disneyland forward? that could potentially be a third ca theme park. and believe me, walt’s og park needs a lot more love than wdw.

Doesn’t the city have to approve that idea before Disney actually does it
@MickeyViews7 ай бұрын
Disney’s been complaining the local and state gov’s won’t let them do it. Therefore, I doubt it’s priced out in these numbers. But maybe it is and that suggests they intend to invest more at DL and WDW will receive fewer expansions.
@Valiantes_7 ай бұрын
Yes. Disneyland resort needs more expansion and Disneyland Tomorrowland needs a serious overhaul which includes the return of the people mover for more energy in that land

@@uhhhhhhh4040yes, it does and i believe anaheim is currently reviewing it.
@kellydooling7 ай бұрын
@@MickeyViewstrue, this project may not be included in the investment money you speak of, but it’s possible, as i think the city of anaheim had agreed to look at it for zoning, etc. maybe it won’t result in another park, but there’s definitely the potential for a new land at minimum. i guess we’ll see… 😄

I'll tell you who Walt Disney Company needs to have on their board: Brayden! Buddy, you'd get my vote in a hummingbird heartbeat! You have a better perspective on Disney's business than Disney does.
@captivatedmouse7 ай бұрын
To me, a 5th gate doesn’t make sense anyway so I’m not sad about that. Because if you do the math, people usually vacation in Orlando for about 7 days on average right. WDW has 4 dry parks, 2 water parks, disney springs, golfing, etc. There already isn’t enough time for most people to do all of that in 1 trip. Now with Universal’s Epic Universe opening, people are already going to be making the choice between skipping 1 of disneys parks to make time for Epic. That’s why a 5th gate doesn’t work imo. But what does work is expansion. Expand on the 4 existing parks and Disney will reap the rewards.
@skyliner67857 ай бұрын
The urge to up prices at the parks will eventually take people away from the parks especially if they did visit multiple times

Why didn’t Disney use Strange World or Lightyear characters in the cartoon proxy video? All we saw were the old faithful characters that would appeal to Boomer nostalgia. Why go back so far to find good stories Bob?

So is the deal with Epic where the Play pavilion went? That digital city looks more then alot like the Play concept and will incorporate everything Play was to be. Can we get an updated WoL back? Lol
