The Aristocats and Disney's Robin Hood are my top 2 Disney animated movies. Nothing girly about either one. As to the "racist" Disney movies..they were made before I was born and I'm 60. It was a different time so, compared to today's standards, a lot of stuff could be called racist. However, now days people actively look for things to be offended about. If movies starred only white actors, especially as leads, people think it should be banned..even if it's a fantastic movie...because it doesn't fit today's standards.

A friend of mine lost her mum when she was a baby, her dad remarried a widowed mother with her two daughters... unfortunately the new instant mum and sisters, absolutely detested and abused my friend, secretly as her dad had absolutely no idea! Unfortunately he also suddenly died... her abuse went to all kinds of levels straight away! They starved her, locked her in a tiny room only allowing her out to beat/force her to do things she shouldn't be doing.... she went through torture for many years, She escaped one night and met a man! They fell in love... he rescued her! Her name was Cinderella... Not actually a nice story at all 😔 Oddly all of Disney movies have this parent/guardian/family/child abuse story .. always

When I was a kid my mom took us to the movie theater, a rare treat because we were poor, but she took us to see Disney's "Song of the South". It has some of the most infectious songs ever. To this day, me and my brothers and sister can break out singing 🎵 "Zippedy Doo Dah, Zippedy Aye.. My oh my what a wonderful day"🎵. I don't think the movie should have been banned. It was my favorite Disney movie. We were raised in a non-racist home, and the history of slavery was not hidden from us or anything else pertaining to race. But the movie was entertainment, it wasn't supposed to be a history lesson. We knew slavery was horrible, but this movie depicts a beloved character singing beloved songs. I have never understood why it needed to be covered up. That doesn't mean it was not made from the perspective of the time period it was in, but we need to see that too. The star of the movie was an elderly black man. In NOT hiding our history, we can see the steps each decade that were made forward in advancing and raising up black Americans. The scene where Uncle Remus and the cartoon birds are singing "Zippedy Doo Dah" is so etched in my mind because it was iconic, and we fell in love with him because it was such a happy song. The culture is going to look different in 1930 than it does in 1950 or 1990, etc. But each step was progress. Stop hiding history. That IS how it ends up being repeated. We are all adult enough to understand that people have evolved. We never looked at Uncle Remus and thought, "oh, slavery was good". It provoked feelings like, "I love Uncle Remus and I wish he hadn't been a slave." But we understood the reality that at one point in history, the abomination of slavery did exist. NOTE: I do not support Disney now because of the undertones of pedophelia. But I won't give up Bambi, Dumbo, Pocahontas, Mowgli and The Jungle Book, etc. Maybe that sounds hypocritical, but nothing in those movies ever made me think of anything ugly as being good. And nothing in them ever made me see anything perverted. I still love "The Aristocats", "101 Dalmations", etc. They were wonderful movies.

Ok Leo. I've been chilling with AC/DC, in depth analyzing it, and I looked at the phone and ACDC, immediately went off. Thanks a lot, Leo. If you're reading, there's more. The mustache thing makes perfect sense. Of course you can go, you're a guest. The idea of no mustached men working in view of guests kept up the wall of a place where you don't grow up. Walt Disney did not work in his park. Everyone thinks that it's weird, but critical thinking will make most things make sense.

Disneyland does allow employees to have beards, & even some tattoos now. (Noticed it when I went to D-land, about 4 years ago.) Even a few decades ago, certain employees did wear well-trimmed mustaches, however… They had to have been there since Walt’s time, & they couldn’t shave it, in hopes of growing it back.

When you're the father of a young girl, you watch whatever she tells you to watch and you'd best pretend you like it or you will regret it. Song of the South is probably my favorite Disney movie.

I don't get it, are you saying your kid likes it but you don't, or vice-versa? You should support whatever your child likes, but let her know the truth behind it (depending on age I guess). Don't try to lead her, but offer a different perspective she can consider. Kids are a lot smarter than most people give them credit for, especially in the information/technology age.

@@ARUCARDFTEPES Sounds a lot like you have little to no experience with kids. I half raised my little brothers, three kids of my own and two grandsons. My daughter was born in 85' and I never had a problem with whatever she wanted to watch, whether I liked it or not. Of course I never let them watch excessive nudity or porn. Kids have a tendency to want to watch certain movies over and over and over. My grandsons about drove me insane with the Barney stuff. I didn't "lead" my kids but I did show them some older movies, classic comedies, ect. when I felt they were old enough.
