Regardless of what Disney calls it Genie+, Fast Pass, Lightening Lane, it reminds me of all the cheezy additional fees airlines charge. Why spend precious vacation time paying upcharges and getting glued to phones instead of relaxing and enjoying the moment? What a remarkably awful idea. The Virtual Queue is just another level of let down Disney is serving up these days. Having tens of thousands of families all vie for a spot (on the app) on a ride, all at the same time is not only frustrating, and next to impossible, but also Disney's way to push people into paying for that spot.

@@l33t007 A Magical Moment is reserved for unsuspecting guests. Cast Members could perform a nice gesture to help elevate a family's or kids trip. Sometimes it's (but unlimited to) a free sticker, escorting a guest to meet a character, or allowing a family to skip a line. When CMs see a kid who may be having a tough time, it would be a nice way to show kindness/compassion and try to spark magic back into their trip.

The memory of what it used to be really. People are still coping that Disney is anything like it was during it's golden years because during those years Disney land was truly a really magical place to go, you WANTED to go vacation there because it was overpriced sure, but the quality generally matched the price. However, this is no longer the case and they are trying to fight against a crash and they're dying because of it. It would be different if it was expensive and they had social good will, but they burned their social good will too fighting a non profitable culture war. All the while Universal is building huge new and cool additions to their park and arent burying the experience under 10 layers of nickle and diming bullshit.

@@katef96 Very true. Yet another reason why it should’ve been bulldozed rather than rethemed.

@@SirBuzz Assuming this hypothetical scenario would be under entirely new management/ownership that would even begin to consider bringing back Splash Mountain as an option, it would make much more sense to use the existing structure because there’s still so much of the attraction left in tact, including many interior set pieces. While TBA largely met my already low expectations based on POV’s rather than exceeding or falling beneath them in most meaningful ways, I honestly expected that the interior would be completely new set pieces, which makes it an even bigger reminder of Splash Mountain than I could’ve anticipated.

I’ve never seen them use the weather to shut down Splash before. It’s a wet ride that operated in the rain. If you say “ lightning” that doesn’t hold up either. Only 6% of the ride is outside. Of fear of lighting striking guests is there, they would force EVERYONE indoors with any threat of lightning. More chance of getting struck on Main Street than on this ride.

Sadly the Disney adults will defend every terrible decision Disney makes. I’ve seen many of them get very aggressive with people for not liking Tiana’s or for saying it’s boring. I don’t understand why they shill for Disney. For example with all the breakdowns that happen on this ride, a lot of people post about it. Yet a lot of the Disney adults scramble to defend the ride. Nearly all of them say “it’s just a tech rehearsal to get all the issues out so that’s why it breaks down so much” or “it’s a brand new ride of course it has problems”. But they fail to realize that ride isn’t new it’s simply just a lazy re theme of what was already there. The real reason it breaks down so much is that Disney didn’t bother to do the much needed ride maintenance on it during the re theme (probably in an attempt to save money). Of course the Disney shills will never accept that sadly. Also when tower of terror here was re themed to guardians of the galaxy, it rarely ever broke down especially not nearly as much as Tiana’s did.

I will say to be fair, Tom Sawyer Island does go down for weather, and it goes down first because they have to evacuate the entire island which takes a lot of time before the bad weather is over MK. So the island acts very early when weather approaches. Tiana however, does not evacuate for weather, they cycle out the ride because that's quicker. So if they did evacuate the actual logs, that is a downtime due to the ride and not cause of the weather.
@KochoDragoon

I also heard when Ron was streaming he mentioned that when the ride has stop people were asking to be evacuated bc they wanted to get to see behind the scenes which is very odd to hear that from guest. Also did seem interesting for the weather to pick the team to be active of spoiling TBA opening day despite being the team of the season, but I do question of the material of the rain can withstand the rain that doesn’t ruin the paint and all not to mention if it keeps it close for while the ride it self can have issue of it’s operation which is why the virtual Q is really a bad idea.

This is just like a cheap flip house renovation that just looks nice on the outside. If you're gonna tear off the surface of a ride and replace it with something new, it doesn't make sense to not do full maintenance on the moving parts. Change the theme and colors all you want, but it won't hide or fix internal problems that were already there. They should have fixed everything wrong from splash mountain and replaced all the old parts before putting the new stuff in to make this ride last long. But this is what happens when Disney pushes rushed jobs and expect positive results.

Why wasn't there a Princess and the Frog ride before now? The answer to that is obvious: You make rides of movies/properties that are successful, not ones that flop. Unfortunately, Princess and the Frog did not perform well. It performed so badly that it basically gave Disney the justification to end all hand-drawn animation and just go CGI like Pixar does. The reason why Iger, Inc is doing a ride on this movie now is for ESG points and so they can pat themselves on the back for their "progressiveness." Nevermind that no customer was calling for the destruction of Splash Mountain. Iger, Inc has so little regard for this movie that they just cheaply wallpapered an existing IP/ride rather than creating an original ride for the movie. It sounds like it shows.

Maybe Dr Facilier send a spell to the attraction that consist in not letting it function smooth until an animatronic of himself is added to the ride, lol And I don't think that the storyline set after the movie is a problem, after all I read Dr Facilier was inspired by Baron Samedi as he appears in the James Bond movies, he was one of the few Bond Villans that didn't die, since he appears to be inmortal

The sad thing is Disney can do better but they pushed out a lot of their experienced and talented imagineers. In addition to getting greedy and budget cutting everything. So now every new ride struggles due to lack of creativity and talent to make it good. And it gets budget cut once or twice due to Disneys greed, so that also affects how the attraction turns out. Tiana’s is a good example of that. It is a pretty lame ride due to poor storytelling and just being overall boring. And it breaks down a lot because Disney cut the budget in half so they ended up not doing much needed maintenance on the ride system

Why do you have the circular WDW Pro logo so huge on the video? Articles calling this travesty of a ride "exciting" clearly haven't been on it. If I had to guess how they'll wrap the show is by having everyone but the twins die. The Green-Headed grandmaster, who is already keeping secrets from the council, (We saw Ki-Adi looking over at her in suspicion when she was talking to Sol) will probably assume/blame the deaths on the twins and accidentally cover up the Sith thereby technically not breaking canon. It's kind of obvious that Sol has to atone for the darkness he is hiding from, so I'm expecting him to die in the series. Probably from Osha (OH IRONY) for his ultimate betrayal of brainwashing her. It would be cool if Plagueis showed up and helped the twins defeat Qimir. He then learns about the twin's conception as a path to create Anakin in the future. For me, that seems to be the best way for the story to proceed without further breaking canon. the Jedi Order is a corrupt institution, just like any institution that is in power. Yeah, Ki-Adi Mundi's age stuff technically breaks canon, but at the end of the day, that's not enough for me to say the show is terrible. That Witch ceremony was kind of cringe though... but that's kind of realistic for witch ceremonies. Honestly, I was bummed to see Jecki die. She did very well for a padawan, especially considering she wasn't prepared to face a Sith Lord. She temporarily arrested Mae, she worked well with Sol with dueling the Sith, she broke his helmet, and altogether lasted longer than pretty much the entire group of Jedi apart from Sol. If she survived and were a little older, this might as well have been her trials to become a knight, not unlike Obi-Wan beating Maul on Naboo or Anakin's first duel with Asajj. Also, I hope the guy is not a Plague. My hope is he's Plagueis' apprentice. Vader uses a saber throw in the original trilogy Doug dropped a truth bomb about Sol leaving their Jedi friends to be consumed by local wildlife. That hit hard. I was super impressed by Jecki's lightsaber ability. She had so much potential which makes her end all the more heartbreaking. She made the Ani mistake, rushing in without her master. I actually liked the fighting choreography in this episode "and Chewbacca is played by the same guy who played CHEWBACCA" I love the reveal of the goofy character being a “Sith” lord as sort of a wink to the fan theory that Jar Jar was a secret Sith So the thing with turning the lightsaber off before the trees fall is also very reminiscent of old samurai movies where a swordsman will draw cut and re-sheath his blade before you see someone or something is cut down. Watching a Sith mow down Jedi who didn’t even know what “it” (sith) was, was amazing. Truly a testament to the Jedi's ignorance and even arrogance. They truly think they’re the only ones who can wield the force as they do“She was a child” “You brought her here…” BADASS Right before Jecki’s death, I was thinking to myself “I wonder how long before Phantom Menace Jecki died” Then she was stabbed thrice through her chest threw his lightsaber in Return of the Jedi Now playing Darth Maul was the Last True Sith! Dxun Download 16K views 1 month ago Trial date set for University of Idaho murder suspect (I’ll suffer for you ) The show that destroyed the Star Wars Legacy!! Sizemic Action RIP Jecki. And Yord, I guess. But I really liked Jecki. My theory is that Mae and Osha are a force dyad, but it's because they are the same being split into two separate bodies. If you remember, Mother Koril said something about the Jedi discovering "how" they created the girls. Suggesting that they did something "unnatural"... like maybe using dark side magic to split one child into two... dark side and light side parts. Also, I think Qimir may be the apprentice and Mother Koril is his master. Before this episode, I figured Qimir was the Sith, but also thought the telegraphing might have been a misdirection and it was actually Koril. And finally, I think Sol knows very well that it's Mae and not Osha, but he's going along with it for now... for reasons. I still can't believe I found people unironically defending Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Modern Disney stans are a lost cause. They should call it Tianas breakdown adventure. Regardless of what Disney calls it Genie+, Fast Pass, Lightening Lane, it reminds me of all the cheezy additionally fees airlines charge. Why spend precious vacation time paying upcharges and getting glued to phones instead of relaxing and enjoying the moment? What a remarkably awful idea. I remember the parks in the 90's when they didn't have all that junk, the parks are no longer worth it. Make it realistic. Gators should attack your log. They jinxed the spirit of the place--this ride will never be right again. The Virtual Queue is just another level of let down Disney is serving up these days. Having tens of thousands of families all vie for a spot (on the app) on a ride, all at the same time is not only frustrating, and next to impossible, but also Disney's way to push people into paying for that spot. Tiana's Crapping Place curse of splash mountain. This ride will be gone in five years. Well done Disney guys, well done. The unwanted replacement for a beloved ride broke down? Shocking! Cast members have been instructed to no longer hand out magical moments (atleast reportedly at Disneyland), so don't even think for a second they're encouraged to help out anyone with virtual queues anymore. Management has told CMs you'll be considered as stealing from the company. But guys, Ursula is now Ariel's sassy aunt, or "tauntie,?" as she calls her. Scar is Simba's fun-loving uncle! Dr. Facilier is the nice man who gives little Tiana lollipops! Redecorating your home doesn't make it a new home! This isn't a new ride, it's new Decor! Throw that whole ride in a briar patch. Oh, wait… Stuck on an uphill incline, light being shone in your eyes while a sound track is played on repeat... Was the word Bayou perhaps painted over the word torture because this sounds like Tiana's Torture Adventure ride. They should change it from looking for a band to looking for a mechanic and people would think its part of the experience Ah yes, the mountainous swamps of Louisiana. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure being functional is about as true as certain events in 2020 being “mostly peaceful”. Tiana deserves better. Glad you and Ron were open minded about Disney’s new Bayou ride. Sorry they stopped the ride due to rain. This happens at park rides. Back then, it started raining when I rode Disneyland’s Automobilia. They kept the ride going when I was half way done. After I completed it, they stopped the cars for the rain to subside. I even rode the Matterhorn when it was raining. Due to Disney’s reserve VIP ticket sale prices to manage attendance capacity I’m uncertain if I’ll ever return to Disneyland.

Meanwhile we had decided earlier to go ahead and pay for an individual lightning lane, but no luck there, either. Nothing was available to buy. No problem, we have extra magic hours, with less competition, but no luck, again. Talking to guest services, the response was pretty much "we're so sorry, but they go really fast and you just missed out. So paying abc staying at a Deluxe resort won't even get you a leg up.
