I like the one in world more because I feel that the queue is more dark and serious and sets the mood better. The exterior of the building really is more ominous and makes it feel more scary and terrifying .

I disagree. I've been going to Disney World my entire life, and as I love Illuminations, but when it comes to everything else show-wise, Disneyland blew Disney World out of the water. Paint the Night is possibly the best Disney parade I've ever seen, and makes Mainstreet Electrical Parade look awful in comparison. Likewise, the Disneyland fireworks and World of Color put to shame most of the night shows at Disney World. They're two different parks with their own pros and cons, so it's naive to say that one park does everything better than the other. Disney World has the benefit of size and scope. Disneyland has a passion I've NEVER seen in the WDW parks, and uses it's limited space so much better than any other set of parks I've seen. Disney World has a wise range of subject matter, but Disneyland has a reverence to Walt that Disney World can never match because he didn't build it. We do this series for fun. The reality is neither park is ultimately better than the other. They're both great.

Yeah,, I remember that now. In the World version, everyone is in one car (similar to rides like Jurrasic Park at Universal), whereas at Land, everyone is in an individual seat and they're only 5.

The fact that the elevator behaves unnaturally to a real elevator by leaving the shaft in DW, I think, builds suspense better. Yes, Rod Serling does sort of telegraph when the drop is happening, but there's enough of a pause between the two that it still takes you by surprise. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there's a randomizer that varies the pause between about two and five seconds from the end of the speech. And yeah, the longer queue that weaves through the garden adds a lot of suspense as well.

Disneyland Paris's version of the ride seems like the budget version of the tower of terror. Disney world version will aalllways be the best ever. I love how it takes you through the hotel and then the drop shaft where the others don't.

If we are being honest here. The first things that comes to my mind when seeing the Disney world tower is “castle mission inn” type of feel, and the one in Disneyland gives off more “Biltmore” and gives off glamorous hotels at the time. So in my opinion (me liking Hollywood esk hotels) I would have to go with Disneyland’s and praises now that it’s gone from dca. Still am a very big fan of Disney worlds.

actually the reason its different its because the 5 dimension aroom in the orlando always breaks down and they didnt want to to have the problem in the dca one so they changed it a little bit

Also something to consider is that the one in Cali had half of the budget of the Orlando one, also I think that they wanted to do the 2 elevator shafts in the DCA tower but California's laws didn't allow it

I generally think Disneyland is superior to Walt Disney World - but in the case the Tower of Terror in Walt Disney World is vast superior. WDW Tower of Terror wins. But, in general, why do I think the Disneyland Resort is "superior?" Because it simply has more rides. Not attractions, or shows - but RIDES. The two parks in Disneyland Resort (Disneyland and Disney California Adventure) have a total of 57 rides. I don't mean movies or shows, but actual RIDES. By comparison, Walt Disney World Resort with it's four separate theme parks has a grand total of 50 rides. That's it! Disneyland World is a massive 43 square miles, yet with all that space, and with double the number of actual theme parks, it actually has fewer rides! Which means that each of the of four parks in Florida have on average about 12 rides each. In California, each of the two parks average 27 rides each. What about rides "only in Disney World"? Well, there are only 23 rides that are unique to Walt Disney World verses 30 rides that are unique to the Disneyland Resort. The two parks are literally a 90 second walk apart - there's no need to waste time driving, or taking a bus or monorail between parks. Of course, for East Coasters - Walt Disney World is simply closer. And some people WANT to spend a full week there. It's a resort. Got it. And then there's the weather. I've lived in both California AND Florida - and California's Mediterranean climate is some of the best weather on the entire planet, especially in the summer. Florida in the summer (when most people go on vacation?). It you like hot and humid, then brother - Walt Disney World is the place for you. Finally, there's so much more to see in California that just Disneyland. Beaches, mountains, deserts, the Redwoods, Yosemite, Sequoia Nat'l Park, Big Sur, Napa Valley, amazing cities like Los Angeles (including Hollywood), San Francisco, San Diego. Sure, Florida has nice beaches (which are honestly unpleasantly hot mid day in the summer). Miami is interesting and there's the Kennedy Space Center. After that, what else?

In disney land, you don't go through the fifth dimension, but when you first get into the elevator, it moves you backwards into the dropping elevator shaft, but in Disney world, when you go into the fifth dimension that was sort of the "secret?" passage to get to the dropping elevator shaft. another difference is in Disney world, before the fifth dimension, you see the five (or six, i forgot) killed people in a hallway, but on the other hand, in Disney land, you see yourself waving goodbye. But one thing i know for sure is that the elevator drop is faster than gravity because you butt is floating from the chair (thank goodness seatbelt were required). Why is that? below the elevator is a big pole that pulls you down + the gravity doing its work = one thing that is faster than gravity but with gravity included. Soooo thats all the "secrets" i know about the two rides. leave a like if this made sense!!

I agree DW is better for this ride. One point I think you missed is that TofT at Disneyland is visible from almost anywhere outside the park if you are staying on Harbor. You see it all the time even as you walk down the road.

There is an outside garden portion of the queue in DCA, but the ride never has a long enough line to open that part. One of these days I'll make it to WDW and be able to compare everything for myself.

At Disney World you exit the ride at a separate location which makes the ride much more unsettling when the doors open to an empty elevator. Also when you go sideways at Disney World is so awesome and a door appears out of nothing is cool.

I know this is just opinion but why do people fight over which is the best Disney Park? Each one has its own unique experience and has its own ideas. I want to visit all the Disney Parks before I die and Disney Land has always been my dream place of going. While I love Disney World there is a lot of throwaway rides like Stitch, Monsters Inc, Ellen, the abandoned Wonders of Life pavilion, Primeval Whirl, and all the World Showcase shows. But there is a lot of great rides too.

I would like to have a sudden you don’t see it coming drop than in WDW where you know when you travel to the 5th dimension that it’s coming. I personally prefer WDW Tower of Terror because I feel it's more aesthetically pleasing, also WDW was the original Tower of Terror, which gives it an edge over DCA. Also every ride is different due to the randomised drops. I also prefer the narration in WDW. Finally, the suspense and the atmosphere of the queue is something I will never forget, the build up.

I am a native Californian and have been to Disneyland more times than I can count. I returned from my 5th visit to WDW, and even though it pains me to say it, WDW wins this one hands-down! The walk-up, queue and 5th Dimension element to Florida's ToT is just better. Both rides are fantastic, but WDW's version is just better.

DCA's Tower has a terrible and unintended juxtaposition. It points toward the front so that the screams will attract people. The hotel looks damaged from when lightning hit in 1939. Pretend it's 2004 and stand on the runway in Condor Flats and look toward the tower as if Carthay Circle weren't there. DCA 2.0's Tower of Tower is part of the history of Buena Vista Street. It's referred to as the Hollywood Tower Hotel which includes the trolley. The Silverlake Sisters who own the Fidler. Fifer and Practical Cafe.

just saying would call both towers as weenies. because you can see it from everywhere in DCA and you can see it from the highway. you can even see it from certain places in Disneyland. also, the rides were built very far apart in time. and there is a hold on moment in that version. it's when he says "but this time,". and I memorized California's TOT drop sequence. SPOILERS!!!! don't read on if you haven't been on it in California/paris and plan to. mid to bottom, top to bottom, bottom to middle, top to bottom.
