Universal is much easier to navigate, less agrivating, better skip the line pass, better for passholders. But really, you have kids under 10 Disney. Over 10 Universal

Totally agree organization in universal is much better. More single riders lines, which means smaller lines in general. You get your tickets on the app right away, in disney we had to do the ticket line to get a card although i bought my tickets online. I felt that disney was after my wallet you feel that ypu have to pay to get to attractions, the experience was not as magical. Ratatouille ride was an example you cannot get in if you are not a resort gest, and some cast members at disney were very rude, the guy in the tickets line at disney hollywood studios was horrible. As a former cast member i felt very disappointed

We did multiple Disney World trips when my daughter was much younger and loved it, but after COVID hit and she turned 7 years old we have since done three trips to Universal and they have been great. So much less stressful, the hotels/Express Passes, casting spells at the Harry Potter lands, eating at CityWalk, etc…all great. Can’t wait for Epic Universe!

As a Dad ...Universal is so much easier. I don't need my phone, lines are shorter. Its just so much easier. Also Disney Corp has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth lately with the canceling of options, price increases, Genie+/Lightning. If they change their direction, I like Disney better....but until they stop hurting families its Universal vacations for my family.

Worth mentioning I always stay in Premier hotels. I used to stay late at Disney and use extra magic hours to do a lot of rides...now that is price gated behind deluxe hotels. Disney seems to be he park of the rich, and universal of the family.

Being a previous cast member and I loved working there, Disney new "style" has washed that pixie dust from me and my memories...sad but, oh well...always a new memory to be made somewhere.

Most of the comments below seem to disagree with you guys LOL, and so do I. Universal is clearly better. The only real thing Disney has going for it is nostalgia. Universal is better priced, better rides, easier to navigate, and they appreciate their pass holders. Being out of state the only pass that's available to me for Disney is their top tier pass that's $1,300. My universal top-tier pass was less than half, and it gives you much better perks.

I prefer Universal. My kid has preferred Universal since he was 8. You couldn't pay that kid to go to any Disney parks anymore. Universal's hotels are cheaper and better than Disney hotels imo. You don't get any benefits for staying on property at Disney anymore and you have to pay more than ever before i.e. no more Disney Magical Express. At least Universal gives you free unlimited express passes if you stay at a Premier Hotel. Universal premier hotels are half if not more than half the price of the same kind of hotels at Disney. Universal's value hotels are better than Disney's too. Universal's transportation system is better all around. From the free shuttles (that run more frequently than DIsney), walkways with short walks to the parks, and the relaxing water taxis. Everyone says Disney has better rides.. but at least you can get on the rides at Universal and you don't have to spend all day at Disney only to ride 3-4 rides because everyone knows Disney wait times are ridiculous. I can't wait for Universal to open Epic Universe.

I love both, but I would rather do a long weekend trip to Universal - the premiere resorts at UO are more my style (and I can walk to the parks within 10 minutes), The Wizarding World is my jam, and nothing - NOTHING - can top Butterbeer. Also, am I the only one who thought the theming in Galaxy’s Edge was meh? It was sooo boring! And I love Star Wars. I think the best themed land in WDW is Toy Story Land.

Well of course Disney is better than Universal,. Buuut our latest trip-- Disney cost us more than twice what Universal did and we got free express pass at Royal Pacific and got better service at Universal. Bob Chapeck will eventually drain the Magic from Disney.

Just went to universal on Wednesday. Yes, middle of the week BUT I did 5 rides that were all walk-on in 2 hours. The moving to the next attraction took longer. Hagrid and Forbidden Journey in 30 minutes at rope drop.

I would choose Universal easily but I'm also a thrill ride lover so that's more important to me. If you're a Disney fan who has yet to visit Disney World and you can only choose one or the other choose Disney World. I like Disney but I'm not really that big of a fan but it is a fun experience and as they described, Disney World is more of an overall great immersive experience in it's combination of family rides, shows, foods whereas Universal is great for thrill rides with the best immersive experience in Harry Potter.

Disney beats Universal on food, but in terms of a positive guest experience at the parks, it’s Universal hands down. Disney has devolved into a reservation based nightmare that always seems to cost extra for every little thing you do.

Disney's new motto is to charge you as much as possible. I went to Disney World 9 years ago and Disneyland 4 years ago and it was magical. This Thanksgiving we went back to Disney World and it was a horrible experience, all the Christmas experience is only for the $250 night show. Genie + and Lightning is just a gimmick to get more money and freaking hotel prices were ridiculous. We also experienced Universal and both Grinchmas and Macy's parade were beautiful and we didn't have to pay extra for them.

I thought I would always love Disney more growing up going to Disneyland, but I just got back from my first Universal Orlando trip and it was truly amazing and magical. I have my first WDW trip planned next month but I don’t think I’m going to love anything there as much as I love Gringotts and Hagrid’s ✨💖✨ I also thought ET was a lot better than Peter Pan 😂 it has been 15 years since I’ve been on that though

I went to Universal for the first time in April and I found it extremely crowded and stressful. There were people everywhere and Disney had significantly lower crowds. I only have one visit under my belt, but I don’t really want to rush back.

I think objectively that All the talk of nostalgia and magical feelings and emotional connection with Disney is being destroyed, I don’t think you can say that anymore with Disney, they have systematically broken down all of that with current leadership, however universal has systematically gotten better over the years so I think universal is the better park because they care about their fans and add great attractions and you can stay in a hotel onsite and get great benefits and not get charged 1000 dollars a night. Also as a P.S. Volcano Bay is hands down 10x better than any Disney water parks

Disney is exponentially more expensive then Universal. You can thank Genie for that. The elimination of Magical Express affects my opinion as well. I will miss the service and immersion of Disneyworld, but, until I win the lottery my choice is Universal

This is super easy. Disney world. Universal has almost no accessibility. Whether you’re disabled or happen to be a larger human being you just cannot write anything at Universal where is Disney you can ride almost 90% of things

I’ve only been to universal one time and that was 8 years ago! I think I only visited islands of adventure because I only remember riding the hulk and dueling dragons (I don’t think it exists anymore) but Molly and Breedlove’s video at the Harry Potter themed lands made me ad a fully versed trip to Universal to my bucket list! I have a Christmas trip scheduled for Disney this year (6th visit) so I definitely get how expensive it is. Budget wise: universal is for sure better! But like Alan said there’s more to do at WDW so it’s more expensive! In terms of preference, I’m a Disney fan through and through and nothing compares to the magic of Disney!

I do like both, but Disney is much better for me because I don't do thrill rides, and there's not much at Universal if you don't like thrill rides. The food is also TONS better at Disney. So many more options, some with amazing theming or character interactions, which Universal is extremely thin on. We actually left the parks to eat when we were at Universal because we went to Monster Cafe and it was so bad it was not edible. We never had food we couldn't eat at Disney. Some of it may not have been the most awesome food ever, but at least it was edible. The Three Broomsticks was so busy they had a huge line and they had someone directing people to the podiums to order and they sent us to one that already had several people at, and then let other people cut in front of us to "catch up with their family" and it turned out they weren't together and were all ordering separately, while the other podiums each had only 1 or 2 people in them, so there were like 10 groups behind us who all got to order before us. It was just so unorganized. After those two experiences, we were done with Universal dining. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, which is the only reason I go to Universal, and I don't even do any of the rides there because they are all too "thrilly" for me. They desperately need a non-thrill, non-scary, family dark ride there, like a ride through the castle kind of like Peter Pan or Little Mermaid, but then Harry Potter themed.

Apples and oranges. The only thing that is the same about them is that they are both Theme parks. Universal Express pass kicks Genie+ and fancy rides butts. Universal resorts are the absolute best value. Universal rides are more intense and thrilling. Disney feels cleaner and just plain more magical. Disney makes you feel special. I did all of Disney 4 years ago. This year we did Hollywood Studios and Universal. My vote is split stay all the way!

"Universal" is the best because, ...... in 1965 Mr. Disney said "hey, lets build a park in Orlando, FL., cause in 1990 Universal will build one there"! NOT!!!!!!! The ONLY reason Universal is in Orlando, is because DISNEY had this amazing crowd of people already there!!! Disney brought Universal to Orlando! I think once I saw a Disney billboard, cause Disney doesn't need to advertise! Universal has them allover Florida.
