When I was a teenager in the 80's, I dated a girl who lived in this amazing house that was on this street where writers and artists used to buy houses to work back in the day. These houses are really nice and architecturally different than the rest of our town. The house my girlfiriend lived in was like this house that was out of a damn fantasy film. The outside looked like a fairy tale house. The inside looked like you were walking into "The Lord of the Rings". It was amazing and I just DREAMED of living there. I LOVED going over there and hanging out. I often begged her to let me and my friends come over and play Dungeons & Dragons there. Everything was stone and big giant wooden beams. The doors between rooms were all arched and were these thick, dark, stained wooden doors with cast iron on them. I can swear that the basement was almost themed to look like a Dungeon. It was the most amazing house I had ever been in. The funny thing is that these houses didn't really fit in with the rest of our small town which is this normal, small, blue collar town full of normal little houses. My mother knew a girl who lived in one of them when she was a kid and that house had an indoor swimming pool. You have to imagine that this one street is surrounded by.. extreme normalness and blue collar-ness. It's so strange.
@carolinecristalj6 жыл бұрын
BlackburnBigdragon I wonder if they are still like that. Hopefully no one remodeled them and made it a normal house.

That would tick me off so much. I haven't been to my old hometown in a while (I suppose I could check on GoogleEarth street view though). That seems to be a trend now that angers me and I see it a LOT around here. People buy these amazing, gorgeous old homes with amazing, and unique architecture, and they just take a sledge hammer to them and turn them into crap McMansions. I see it over and over here. Some people just don't understand the value in these beautiful places.

Meriden, CT. There's a street and.. maybe a whole block of houses that are really nice that are like this. I haven't been back there in years though. I grew up there 70's through the 80's. Moved out in the 90's. I was born there. My mother was also born there. So we're local to that town. Someday, I'm going to go back there.. and cry when I see what changed. I know that they knocked down and rebuilt my old high school and middle school into these god-awful office park looking things. Ugh. I'm one of those people who just dreads returning to his home town after all these years because I have all these wonderful memories, and then I know, when I go back, all the places that I knew are going to be gone. The places I lived are going to all be re-modled and changed. Everything is going to be.. different and just.. not there. It makes it really hard when you had such wonderful memories in a place and then the place just.. isn't there any more.

Society constantly reminds you how to behave and what to be as an adult. But in reality, if you're doing it right, the only thing that separates you now as an adult from when you were a kid, is the price of your toys and the size of your dreams. So keep playing and keep dreaming.

You know, this is not something I am particularly into, but I ride sidecars, so unconventional works for me. I like it! Thanks Travis and Adam for sharing your passions. Sharing them makes understanding where folks are coming from a whole lot easier!

I've been known to obsess with my projects and try to get every detail right, but this guy takes it to a completely new level. THIS IS CRAZY!

How obsessed with detail can one be? OMG, this is unbelievable. No chance of it becoming an AirBnB?

This is so amazing but when it really gets mind blowing is when you look outside the window's. The perspective illusion just makes it look even more real. Bravo to this man.

12 year total, his free time, and he’s doing every tiny little bit by hand. Some things even taking multiple time intensive steps just to complete a single feature. No amount of praise will ever be enough.

This man needs to be an imagineer at disneyland or disney world. This is amazing. Like everything in detail is perfect. Disney give him a job because you know he will make sure everything is perfect just how Disney itself already is. This is honestly the best basement or room ever!!

To those who know me, know that theirs nothing that I cannot fix. But this gentleman right here, he creates. Its just incredible. I'm not sure what he does for a living, but whoever he works for is extremely lucky.

Wow just wow. The amount of detail in the wear and tear from the architecture truly make this stand out from any other replica. Every small imperfection has an extreme importance to the overall look of this. Please make more themed rooms in your house or build another warehouse outside to construct entire ride queues I can watch this for days and would love to keep updated on it!

The amount of detail he’s put into this is incredible! And I like his “fake out” stuff like the “copper” pipe (is really PVC.) I think I’ll look closer at WDW’s details after this!
