Tiana bayous adventure (TBA) is objectivly not a good retheme. Even if all the technical problems are solved and even if you ignore splash mountain. TBA will always suffer from two issues. Forcing the same storyline on two different rides was a mistake. The Disneyland version may be a tiny bit too fast and the World one has the opposite issue. Both rides may be log flume rides but they are not carbon copies. Splash mountain worked but Tiana. The second problem is that the ride system is a log flume ride. What makes them special? The drops! You have a thrillride with height requirement and your story needs to support the ride. Before a drop you need to build up tension. There is danger. After the drop the ride needs to communicate that the danger is over and the guest can relax again. Basic storytelling stuff.

@@NordicDan He has stated in a podcast that he believed there was nothing wrong with Splash Mountain and explained how he consulted the NAACP for their approval during the creation of the ride. Long story short, they loved it. Seeing him cry on Splash Mountain's last day broke my heart. I can't imagine seeing my masterpiece destroyed on both coasts like that. Must be an awful thing to witness.

Tiana's Bayou is SO poorly thought out, and the subject matter is so problematic they have to pretend characters dont exist and completely change other characters because they wont say "voodoo". Its like they got rid of a wonderful classic ride without 10 minutes of real thought. Did some racist grifter, Disney pays to destroy their brand, see that the new main character was a black girl and force them to ignore other consideration? I feel like im taking crazy pills.... Tiana's Bayou is a perfect symbol for DEI its the modern sabotage of greatness. What Disney did to Splash Mountain is what leftists want to do to America? I find it interesting that the beginning of the queue line has a white-washed picket fence. Odd to reference of a stereotype of the South aka Tom Sawyer. The murals that were added have no reference to the time period since the children playing trumpets are wearing modern day attire. This ride has better timing because of the ride's length, however the story is still confusing since the log boats move too quick at certain moments. Lastly it is really odd to make reference to Splash Mountain with the riverboat on the mantle when you go through the main entrance sign

It’s disappointing that Disney didn’t bother to fix the actual ride system during the re theme here at Disneyland and also at wdw. That’s why it’s breaking down so much. Access to the ride is controlled through the Virtual Queue and there's a vast sea of mouth breathing idiots waiting for their chance to virtue signal on social media. As you mentioned it, it's the reason that Haunted Mansion spiels have been memorized by thousands of people. For that matter, many of the classic rides of Walt's creation, as well as what I call the renaissance rides of the late 80's to 90's are as well. Pirates, Thunder Mtn, Alice, Mr. Toad, Tower of Terror, even Rockin Roller coaster, for examples. Most of the latest rides are forgettable, Avengers campus, Frozen, Guardians, etc and few people know those words and any of the lines said and nobody quotes them. Tiana's is a pathetic retheme. A mountain in the lowest elevation state , that tries to make a hill from a salt dome mined by slaves. All to replace a ride that had nothing to do with slavery and was themed to both a good movie, but even more to a compilation of Black folktales for children. With a song sung by the first Black man to receive an Oscar for his work. If destroying that legacy isn't the TRUE racism nothing else in corporate disney is. Now it doesn't operate well. It never will. Splash mtn had its downtime issues, but NEVER to this level.

As someone who grew up in LA and went to Disneyland all the time, I can tell you that entitled people in LA are NOT going to go for being stuck on a broken ride for even ten minutes. The “bayou mist” light beams actually look better in the Disneyland version because the Magic Kingdom version the top part of the beams are caught by the ceiling. And the bottom beams that aren’t there in both versions I just assume they don’t want the beams shining in guest eyes. Also I recall seeing a similar effect on Maelstrom with Odin’s eye, so it isn’t new.

When Disney announced they would retheme Splash Mountain to Princess and the Frog I thought it would be cool if the ride took place when Tiana and Naveen were frogs and escaping/harassing the frog hunters. And they could have rethemed Winnie the Pooh to a dark ride of the story of the Princess and the Frog. Then the older kids could go on a wild and crazy thrill ride and the little kids who were too small to go on the big kids ride would have their own attraction too. Hungry Bear could have been Mama Odie’s Gumbo House. And the whole land could be reimagined as the bayou.

I went to Disney a lot in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Taking note of the maintenance crews is literally the reason I got into construction. I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of products and services for the last 20 years. In 2005 the monorails at WDW started smelling like they transported the horses regularly on them. I wish we could get back to the 80’s and 90’s of quality but I don’t think our current society has that kind of quality anymore. All aspects of production and service need to be faster and cheaper. Could Disney do better? Yeah I think current management has their collective heads up their collective rears. But even if we replaced them with “better” people it will never be what it was. Thanks for your continued fight and I hope I’m wrong, but it might not ever get better than now. (Till Jesus fixes it 😉)

Never. They built the Yeti directly into the structure. So they can't fix it without taking the whole mountain apart to get to the Yeti. I hope they fired whoever decided on that bonehead decision. I rode it a few weeks ago, the flashing lights weren't even working. I also rode Tiana's new ride in FL. It was working except for one Mama Odie animatronic. Plus there was no line. At the end of the ride there was hardly any merchandise for what should and would be a fairly well liked character. It was done cheap all the way around and it is a shame.

Actually that's false. They actually can take the yeti out, Without taking out part of the mountain, they've done it before. They did it One night after the park closed and put him back in the next day.

Both wrong... The yeti has it's own foundation, the track has it's own foundation and the building has it's own foundation. They're 3 different structures. Problem is that you have to disassemble parts of the building and track to remove the yeti and get it out. Then build a new foundation under the yeti and replace the animatronic, track and building/mountain. To do that you'd essentially have to have the ride closed down for 18 months while that work can be done. In a park with so few rides, it's just not practical to close the ride and reduce the capacity of an already weak park. Also, Disney of today wouldn't spend the money to do that on an attraction that is nearing the end of it's lifespan.

Yeah and I'm irritated and annoyed that the Disneyland and Disney World Imagineers did their own thing without asking us what we actually want to see on Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I used to be excited but now I just look at it as another Jungle Cruise copycat ride. No conflict, no real story, no Spoonbill Birds, no Lady Butterflies, no 3 Frog Hunter Hillbilly Men or Dr. Facilier to make it more fun and interesting, I'll probably ride it once and then forget about it afterwards. I'm very sad that Tiana's Bayou Adventure was slapped together and excluded "When We're Human", "Friends on the Other Side", I'd rather rewatch The Princess and the Frog 2009 and Jungle Cruise 2021 films on Disney Plus. They're way more fun and exciting films than the Disneyland rides.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is more than just broken, not as bad as the Disney World version, they need to close Tiana's Bayou Adventure in both Disneyland and Disney World and add the missing characters I want to see. I want to see iconic moments from the Princess and the Frog including dancing Spoonbill birds, red and yellow lady butterflies, 3 possums, deer, 2 alligators, Tiana's former boss Buford, Buta the dog, Marcel the cat, Tiana in her iconic blue dress at the opening rather than having her dress up like Skipper from Jungle Cruise at the beginning of the ride, I want to see 3 Frog Hunter Hillbilly men Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers cause mischief or mayhem for funny conflict scenes, also I want 2 songs added to Tiana's Bayou Adventure "When We're Human", during the nighttime ride after sunset play "Ma Belle Evangeline" instead of "Down in New Orleans" which should only play in the daytime. Also for the Halloween season they should rename it to "Dr. Facilier's Magic Splash Show" add Dr. Facilier and maybe include Lawrence and add the shadow spirits, masks, dolls, creepy dead trees, brambles, Owls, and include "Friends on the Other Side" song, however the song may end up getting censored to remove the "I've got Voodoo, I've got Hoodoo." verse. But otherwise it would be great to have, and the line for "Dr. Facilier's Magic Splash Show ride" would fill up like the final days of the Former Splash Mountain and boost Disneyland and Disney World tickets. I'll have to call Disneyland and Disney World customer service and write to them and share my ideas with them and talk to the Disney Imagineers because I want to help boost their park ticket sales in my small contributing way and hopefully get Tiana's Bayou Adventure to be more like Pirates of the Caribbean ride rather than the Jungle Cruise ride.
