For Christians, we believe that humans are created in the "Image of God". As such, we are supposed to represent God to others through virtues. When we sin (lie, steal, kill, et al), we misrepresent God and are not living up to our duties as divine ambassadors. This is even graver when people claim to kill in God's name. @@russellswonderfullyweirdwo8493 No one needs to hold a gun to your head. There are different weapons like using the suicide of a friend as emotional leverage to get you to "save" the other person. Or just because you are too kind and feel you really should help before you eventually realise you really should not. In the UK, financial behaviour as this is legally classified as abuse if using emotional leverage, (Inc religion), and/or against a vulnerable person. Maybe US is different. It's not am offence if a cheque bounces in UK But I understand it is total opposite in US? Everywhere is different. But it's still financial abuse Yes he escaped despite the initial obvious pain in doing so. That takes courage to walk away from when they meant so much to through life. Only to betray you. But it takes something really bad to push you to that extreme anyway. He did good. And him "spilling it all over KZbin" is not only good for him emotionally and financially, (not continuing to lose money because of them by giving it to a therapist instead), but is helping others too. So many thinking it was only them, now realise differently. Anything helping another is good

@@russellswonderfullyweirdwo8493 I am unsure what ".. from UK."nuff said" implies, if anything at all? I don't make such comments to those elsewhere. I'm unsure what the "two" wrongs are otherwise I would agree. Defamation necessitates slander or libel. False or manipulated allegations for the purpose of destroying a person's true character. There is no defamation because he evidenced everything with text communication screenshots. He has not lied or stated anything not evidenced. As you stated earlier, he eventually "came to his senses" and did the sensible thing. You don't agree with him talking about a subject which is usually kept silent. There's nothing wrong in having an opinion. You're fully entitled to yours and don't need anyone telling you otherwise. My opinion is that he has opened up a subject which is helping many whom thought they were alone. Plus he's expressing the emotions of it all from Day 1 to final acceptance. He's not just saving a fortune on useless therapy but is additionally helping others on this painful subject too. That's just mine, and many others opinion. You have a right to think differently too. It does not necessitate disparaging comments. Yes. I am from UK. And it feels the same to experience here as it does to those in US. It helps to hear another's experience. If it was not substantiated with evidence, then that would be an entirely different story and I have absolutely no doubt that they would have sued him in a heartbeat were that the case. Only the evidence proves they haven't a leg to stand in. They're horrible, greedy people with no compassion. What is far worse to me personally is not money it's that they revealed total absence of care re his mental or physical health. Were he a working horse, they'd have been flogging it until it took its last step. Then left it to die or shot it. No longer useful to them. I get why some think as you do. But many out there are helped when realising it's not just them and their feelings are validated. Or they learn what they have to do and what to expect to feel when doing so. That has to be better than keeping silent. They don't deserve anonymity over helping others. As long as it's not criminal, they do not get to decide how he chooses to deal with his pain. I do think the girlfriend and best friend story take it into a different category though. It serves no purpose other than to sadly detract from the originality and importance of the financial one. But we all make mistakes and he's suffered a lot of betrayal, but I hope he stays kind and rises above it outside of the family one.

In short, if you can choose your parents, then you do owe them something. If you can't, you don't owe them anything, just because they "give birth" to you. I haven't even mentioned the fact that parents in my country are very irresponsible for their actions. They always say one thing and do another, show their kids bad examples of themselves. The Bible is the greatest tool in mankind ever created to gaslight others. In all honesty, I truly believe that's the only reason that our current Religions were created and still remain. They wash each others feet, and give pittance to the tithe to make themselves feel superior, have quotes on hand for any situation with the hypocrisy that the Bible is like Einsteins Theory of Relativity, that for every Bible verse supporting ones argument there's an equal and opposite verse that goes in the opposite direction... Except when it comes to abortion obviously, since it's literally only mentioned in the sense that if your wife sleeps with another man you should stone her till she miscarries. That's it. The Bible says nothing else in regards to abortion. It is a tool used to manipulate people and back it with The Magical Book of Morality. Josh shows it here. He even recited a verse back to his grandmother. And obviously she brushes it off because it doesn't go with her agenda. Don't ever read me a verse from the bible and connect it to how I should live my life. People like Joshua and myself are completely happy to love, care for, and help other people without the 100th revised copy of a book that was written by people who bathed once a week thousands of years ago. It's fucking irrelevant. I don't need to be scared of going to hell to be a Humanitarian. I'm cancelling the Bible. It's a mute point. You heard it here first. You can be spiritual. You can believe in whatever higher power you want. But a book about condemning someone to hell for being gay, with the next line saying if you eat a piece of shrimp you will equally and also be included in those that go to Hell is a book that should be read as fantasy and nothing more. Please, try to gaslight me with lines from a book that talk about stoning people. Old Testament, New Testament, I don't give a fuck. I grew up Catholic, it never made sense. I went to all the classes, obviously my mom never made me an Altar Boy so Bless her.. My mother still considers herself Catholic. Prays to Mary. That's all fine. But she also doesn't ever tell me that I need her god in my life, creating anxiety in me, being afraid of this god... **BUT LOVED TOO** ... It's all in Gods Plan that we've surpassed 300k deaths in America just from the Coronavirus alone.. God loves America, hates children in Uganda, wants kids in Yemen to die from malnutrition. That's his PLAAAAAN. SHUT the fuck up. God has no plan. If there's a god controlling things he's a sick motherfucker. More likely he's a sick motherfucker who made us in his image, spun the earth into motion, and took his hands off the wheel to watch the chaos. There very well may be a spiritual element, or a connection between humans that we can't explain and may never be able to. Or it's electrons in the air. Who knows at this point? Maybe the Earth truly is Gaia and we die, get recycled, and the Earth itself is a living being.. But there aint no mf who looks like us in the sky looking down and blessing anybody. There's luck and maybe some sort of Karma on this Earth, and the only reason I'm adding Karma is going back to Einsteins Theory of Relativity. "Karmic Science" Fuck your Bible verses. I have a bot on Discord that spits bullshit out from the bible when you type +random So now that we have AI that can spout bullshit, we don't need anymore Karens...

From experience people (family, friends, bosses, etc...) who are psychologically and emotionally abusive need to be cut out of your life, there is very little chance of them changing. Mom worked and struggled to pay mortgage and bills. Use child support to pay mortage and raise 4 kids. So dad doubled diped on child support. House was forclosed on and dad was highest bidder. So dad pays money to himself for his own home at the foreclosure auction for his home. Mom takes dad back to court and judge has no case law to follow. He said they would have to write new law to cover my parents divorse. Dad later sold home for 280k. Made 250k profit. its just buisness tommy.. no dad FU Its not. I was eating cheese for a month to pay the rent. Cleaned out my 401k to pay for college. I know the pain you go through when you know whats happening is sick. Covered the rent for years till sister graduated but had a stoke. You will probably never see this but maybe only those who can relate will ever understand the depths of pain, anxiety, hurt, anger, and betrayal this type of behavior from "family" causes. Getting away from this is like beating a horrible drug addiction with painful regrettable re-lapses. Even if you break free it scars you for life. I'm proud of you for sticking up for yourself and putting your foot down. You deserve people in your life that show you the same kindness you give. I hope you're doing well.

You don’t owe them anything. They wanted children for their own selfish reasons. Your parents should be helping you by supporting and encouraging you. Parents that think their children owe them unconditional love and respect regardless of how they behave are delusional. Only give respect and help to people that respect you.

My mom is 71 and has been retired for awhile, but she spends as if she’s still working. Every week she asks me to pay this bill and that bill. For the last few years I have helped, but told her I was loaning her the money. She owes me over 5K at this point and still asks for money to pay bills when she hasn’t paid me back for everything else. This past year with Covid I lost my job and was receiving unemployment. I’m a single mom with two kids. She still had the nerve to ask me for money when she brings in about 5K or more per month between her pension, social security, and rent from the tenant that lives in the basement. I pay for her cell phone bill. Where is all her money going? We basically don’t have a relationship anymore. The only time she talks to me is when she needs money or needs me to blow dry her hair. God forbid I say NO. She gives me a major guilt trip. I tell her to call my brother who does well for himself. My brother is her favorite and of course she doesn’t want him to know she has money problems. He’s the first person I call every time she asks me for money. I just can’t do it anymore. I’m done.

You did the right thing. Now you just need to assert yourself and tell her she’s not getting any money from you anymore because she doesn’t know how to manage her money. You are not her safety net! You have a family to support! She only has to support herself and you need to let her know that! You need to establish boundaries with her. When she asks, the answer should be “no”. And you don’t owe her an explanation. You take care of your family. ❤️

I am so damn grateful that my parents are stand up people. They are consistent, loving, encouraging, responsible, hard working, successful, frugal, and they never fail to remind me and my sister how proud they are of us and the families we’ve built. They are always willing to help with childcare which our kids absolutely love. They are fantastic grandparents. They always remind us that they got our 6. And we’re no strangers to toxic family. We had a huge falling out with my dad’s mom and his siblings. It ended in an ugly lawsuit. We cut them off completely for the health and stability of our immediate family unit and that was the best decision. Family is EVERYTHING. My heart breaks for you and anyone who has toxic family.

I hate that argument. Who chooses to be born? Babies are brought about by the selfishness of their parents. You do not owe your parents SOLEY for raising you, that is the bare minimum required of them for having brought you into this world.

Okay come on now, you're falling into nihilism. This world has PLENTY of redeeming qualities, and just to name ONE the beauty of nature. Many other great qualities of life and the world, in addition to the suffering, but I'm not about to waste time making an exhaustive list.
@svenstevenson22453 жыл бұрын
@@LilJbm1 I never said life wasn't worth living. Only that you by no choice of your own are born into this world at the behest of ones parent's selfishness. You do not owe them for feeding you, clothing you or raising you, fore, that was the bear minimum obligated and expected of them for having you. That is to say those that say you owe your parents for "raising" you can go stuff it. Many a parent out there who fails in the aforementioned even though it ought to be the bare minimum however even when you have good or amazing parents you still really do not owe them anything. Arguably outside if they bought you a car/paid for and college because that is a bit above and beyond however this doesn't sound to be the case in the video makers family. Once he got a job they wanted him to support t hem, not in their old age but RIGHT NOW and to the detriment of his own fiscal status and well being. Parent, sibling, friend, wife, kid, you can go fuck yourself if you want something out of me even when I tell you it would be to my detriment.

I can't even imagine why people are doing that. If you come to someone who isn't religious and spout bs. What do you expect is going to happen? I can respect people wanting to have their own beliefs, but the moment you use those same beliefs as to clarify why I need to act a certain way, I'll straight up laugh at you. If you want me to do something, don't go claiming there is some invisible man in the sky that wishes it so. If I told you I'm not interested in your bs, please leave me alone or I'll start making a mockery out of your whole beliefsystem so you'll stop. Luckily I don't have to deal with these kinds of people very often.
