Partners in Time is my second favorite game in the Mario & Luigi series. I loved almost every bit of it from start to finish. Even so, I’m not a fan of the art style or some of the Bros. Attacks being cumbersome to pull off consistently even with practice. Charriii’s video on it, however, is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. In fact, despite my disclaimer saying that I don’t hate his content, this is one of the rare cases where I actually do hate it. After this video premieres, I’ll leave a pinned comment in case any of you begin to think that my disclaimer has become false or my anger isn’t justified.

Now that this video has premiered let me make something clear. My anger towards the end of this video, while genuine, is a little over-exaggerated. On it's own, the Elder Princess Shroob rant mildly annoys me, but it's that combined with the other rants that makes me so upset. For the record, it's incredibly rare that I ever hate one of Charriii's videos. In fact, I can only really point out three videos that fall under that category with this being one of them. So those specific videos aside, my disclaimer is still valid.

Fun fact:I had over DOUBLE the amount of experience that Charriii had at the end of the game in STAR HILL for heck’s sake (I kinda sucked at dodging and went through the game as a glass cannon, always investing in power and equipping the muscle slacks and thrilling pants for the rest of the game which made me go back and grind for a bit before every boss just in case) but STILL level 23 is absurdly low

37:10-38:08 He said he would chose to not sin if everyone agrees the boss is hard, not if everyone loves it/if it is popular. The majority of people think Elder Princess Shroob is a good fight…but EVERYONE agrees it’s a hard fight. So Chariii is right.

Charriii's mindset is hard fights = bad fights which as Elder Princess Shroob proves is blatantly false. Every time Charriii has said "F*k this fight!" for a fight being hard, he is very obviously saying that the fight is bad, but Elder Princess Shroob isn't bad. It's a little hard, but bad is the last thing anyone would use to describe it.

I'm about to fight Princess Shroob, and everyone's EXP is in the mid to high 30000s range at the moment (Mario has 35763 EXP, Luigi has 35757 EXP, Baby Mario has 37285 EXP, and Baby Luigi has 37261 EXP), meaning I'm at level 27, and I'm four levels higher than both Charriii5 and Nathaniel Bandy, both of whom are at level 23 (though Charriii5 has Luigi at level 24). Princess Shroob is level 29, Elder Princess Shroob's first phase is level 30, and her second phase is level 31. This means I'm two, three, and four levels below before the respective fights/phases, and I'm considering grinding some more to be on par with at least one of them because I feel like I'm a bit underleveled. Using the level-up progression chart for this game, here's how much EXP is needed for levels 27 to 31. Level 27 (my current level): The adults need 34222 EXP, and the babies need 37174 EXP. Level 28: The adults need 39022 EXP, and the babies need 40954 EXP. Level 29 (Princess Shroob's level): The adults need 42802 EXP, and the babies need 44914 EXP. Level 30 (Elder Princess Shroob's first phase level): The adults need 46762 EXP, and the babies need 49054 EXP. Level 31 (Elder Princess Shroob's second phase level): The adults need 50902 EXP, and the babies need 53374 EXP.

Update: I have finally beaten the game at level 27. I used both the Mix Flower and Trampoline to finish off both Princess Shroob and Elder Princess Shroob, and I showed Shrowser who's boss.

Well, I figured I'd respond to your points on the bosses as people on my discord have noticed something about Charriiis points. What you misunderstood about his points is that he was actually talking almost exclusively about the bosses difficulty, not their quality, and in your KH3 Clip, he kinda brought them up seperately. And I've seen quite a few people say that PITs bosses are hard. Was Charriii underleveled? Yeah but given how most would still agree with his assessments, I'd say his points are fair game. (Basically what I'm saying is that there's a difference between difficulty and quality) As an example, Many consider games like Crash 1, Dark Souls and Cuphead to be great games-but they also consider them to be very hard. Now you could argue my point is somewhat flawed and it admittedly is. But I wouldn't exactly say its wrong either, especially since people would agree with my and Charriiis assessments. I'm not sure if you intentionally ignored that part from the clip you showed cus your were pissed that he was sinning something you personally like at all. Or if you missed that in editing the video. (Tho the formers prolly more plausible if 06 is anything to go by), but I'll just say that make sure your giving out correct information and dont let your personal feelings get in the way. You can't use your opinions, you have to use facts. I've been where you've been in a way as well. I originally wanted to a commentary on Geek Critiques Heroes video. But after awhile I learnt that it was mainly my personal bias speaking and I scrapped the idea (Albeit, this scenario is different from the one here). Basically, my point is dont let your personal feelings blind you. If you want to debate, im up for that.

That doesn't mean much Charrii5 doesn't bother use bros attacks so he's giving himself a extreme difficulty spike for no reason also in the younger princess shroom fight Tony clearly shows that Charrri5 is under level as he was level 23 fighting a boss that's level 31 and also 37:23 and yet he's sinning a boss the community likes. Horray there are clone boss fights MY FAVORITE Junior Shrooboid and Elder Shrooboid (would’ve made more sense if it was reversed btw) and also this game has like one of the best Bowser fights ever and I love how each game where you fight bowser focuses on the games mechanic, this game he teams up with his baby self, bowser inside story he uses his moves that you use when your actually playing as him(makes he wish there was a mario bros fight lol), dream team he using someone in the dream world to power up hes abilities, paper jam he teams up with his paper self, and in superstar saga he uhhhh well does that even count? One thing i don't get, maybe ill do a eww about your eww about charriii5's eww (not really), is actually a fundemental issue with how you've been taking sins. For starters, the good side is you are VERY informative, ive learned a lot about several games that i never would have before. But the downside is you often criticize charriii5 for nitpicking which 9/10 times, is the point of the sins. Charriii5 has stated he doesn't want to label these as reviews, which is why up until recently, he never really factored in gameplay, and moreso logic loops in stories. He takes things that dont do much to mess up the story, and point fun of it. Sure from time to time he gets a bit game review type of rants, but often its because the point sticks out to where a player, who is experiencing the game, is actually frustrated

I too called him out for not using bros items on bosses. I followed a strategy similar to yours. Save all the bros items for bosses. Also, the leetspeak was not "something we put behind us." Partners in Time came out in 2005, so leetspeak would still have been mainstream by then

It’s all good. You had a lot to say. On the note with Origami King’s battles, while I personally haven’t played the game, I’ve heard that battles net you both coins and confetti that you need to fill holes in the environment. Granted, you can get quite a lot of confetti from the overworld, but I’ve heard that in dungeons, it’s a lot scarcer. Doesn’t make the combat good, but at least there’s a little incentive to fight enemies. I do agree with your point on Mario & Luigi. Even without playing most of the Paper Mario games, heck the only I’ve played prior to this comment is Super, I’ve always considered Mario & Luigi to be the superior RPG because it found a combat system that’s fun and found new ways to make it better with every game. Oh, and it actually deserves the title of RPG. The latter three Paper Mario games shouldn’t even be called RPGs at all. Because of this, we got five at the very least good games and two remakes, which granted introduced the worst modes in the series but at least they’re not mandatory, and even though the bros. might be dead now, at least they died with dignity. It’s rare that a series lives and dies without having a single truly bad game. But they pulled it off, and we love them for it. All that said, I’ll cover his Paper Mario videos eventually. I have big plans for next year though; so it’s not going to be anytime soon.

I agree with your side of the whole Elder Princess Shroob fight, but I do have a few issues with your argument. First, that is a LOT of HP, almost double the HP the European and Japanese versions deal with, and considering Japanese games tended to come out in Japan before the Americas, that’s pretty unfair that the United States was forced to have a more difficult version. Second, Bros attacks are treated differently in this game, because instead of Brothers Points, they work like items, meaning you won’t be able to replenish any once it runs out in a fight since there’s no syrup thing in this game. In short Mix Flowers can only be used so much. Third, while I *do* agree that Chariii5 *really* should have done more grinding on enemies a lot more frequently (that’s probably why it took forever for him), even on par level wise, that fight can still take a while. I can’t really blame you for acting angry because it was an act, and Chariii should’ve worded that WAY differently. I have lost my tempter too when someone insults something I really enjoy, like for example the Sun and Moon part of the Pokémon Anime, so I won’t hold that against you, sometimes you need to let it out, I get it. Although…do not ask me how speedrunners beat Elder Princess Shroob because I genuinely have NO CLUE!😅

That was quicker than I thought. I like this game, but other than Paper Jam, it's my least favorite in the series. The game feels too unbalanced (although that could be just me avoiding normal enemy encounters and the real problem is my playstyle doesn't work for this game). And despite my thoughts on the game, Charriii's video was one of his worst. And here's a few things I have to say about your video, and I'm once again not defending Charriii. 4:31: How did he not understand that? 5:06: That was a very smart explanation. I WAS LEVEL 20! And that happened because I didn't fight enemies for half the game. Also, less sins than when Charriii sinned Fawful's speech patterns? 35:31: Even as someone that hates this fight, I agree with you on this. It was my fault that I hated the fight as much as I did because I was Level 20, and even if it was the game's fault, I wouldn't sin it because even though I despise this fight, a lot of people love it. Also, there's the 100 sins I was hoping for. And a closing remark, I'm still annoyed that they barely talked about Shrowser because Shrowser has the biggest story problems of any boss in the series. You're using this logic to every game witch is just backwards. So let me ask you this: Do you think Baldi's Basic is a review? Do you think Hotel Mario is a review? Do you think Zelda CDI games are reviews? Do you think DDLC is a review? Because if your answer is anything but no, you're either insanely delusional, or just plain arrogant and idk which is worse?
