Madame Web reviews are out and they're absolutely savage. Always the funniest times about when the critics decide they've had enough, even better when they really don't want to admit it. Rolling Stone is agreeing with the fans and still trying to attack them. When they begrudgingly have to admit the fans were right, you KNOW it's bad. Even for Marvel, when people are saying sorry to Morbius and wishing it returned, you're breaking new ground. But what did you think of the reviews? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

@valentinegonsalves732211 ай бұрын
Think about all the shit you could do with the premise of "seeing 10 minutes into the future". There's episodes of cartoons like Ben 10 that make the most of it with basic crap like knowing where objects in the environment are going to end up. Thet idea isn't lame. This is a skill issue. If I wrote Morbius, I'd quietly leave Hollywood and maybe write short stories on the internet. It is wild that the writers landed another gig.

People can dunk on this all they like but it's worth remembering Sony probably don't care. This film is a product of 'we need to hold onto the license' rule of thumb. Licenses can lapse if you don't use them for a certain period of time. Sony's 'villainverse' is literally just them pumping out cheap crap films so they can keep hold of it. The goal isn't to make money, it's to stop other people making money.

0:55 this clip genuinely shocks me. I am currently in a high school film class and even I know what’s wrong here. For those who don’t know, there exists a rule in filmmaking called the 180 rule. Essentially what it boils down to is that if a character is on one side of the screen in one shot, they shouldn’t be on the other side of the screen in the next shot. You either need to position the camera so that the character is on the proper side or add some shots with movement in between to get them to the other side. This is a fucking fundamental rule of filmmaking, one that most people can get right based off of pure instinct, and this production with the backing of fucking MARVEL can’t get it right. Genuinely shameful on the entire production team responsible for this.

To be fair, that's what Peter parker in the comic book also wanted. He just got slapped with a huge dose of reality , which utterly changed him from a rather selfish child to a highly responsible adult. I'm not sure that happened in this movie. It could have. Hell, there was loss that Cassie could have been shown taking the responsibility for to learn from, but the movie kind of ignored the possibilities there .

I know Dakota Johnson looks as plain and dull as her acting and that she was cast in 50 Shades specifically so the 40 year old single cat ladies could believe they were the lead and had a chance w/ Christian Grey. But it really puts it in perspective when you put her side by side w/ her 3 supporting actresses, two of whom I wouldn't call "hot", either. Hope Sydney Sweeney finds more work where she can show off her talent after this dumpster fire.

I thought that the actress playing her mom was flat as hell, then Dakota came on and I realized that she was probably directed to play the part that way to draw attention away from the main character's dull delivery.

Since when were women not represented in movies? Have we gone so far backwards by accelerating so far into the realm of narcissism that to simply exist warrants a claim to be 'powerful'? The whole draw of superheroes and their arc that is built off of sacrifice, responsibility and making the hard choices, is being stripped away by writers and producers who want to insert their warped self perception into their financially failing vanity projects. This obsession with power is f**king bizarre and just speaks to how childish a lot of these 'creatives' are..

@bararobberbaron85911 ай бұрын
Its when you have some seriously great stories, dedicated people and you manage to work out an impressive and fun movie series. Good start, then the company made billions and wants to do it again, but there's been less fantasizing about these characters or scripts already laying around, less time to get excited, but still a few good ideas, so phase 2 goes off pretty well. Fatigue is starting to set in and the idea well has run dry, and phase 3 only makes it to the end on the strength of the first 2 phases. Phase 4 they haven't had any ideas or passionate people for years, and it seems anybody who manages to string a sentence together gets to take part. Not every project is meant to be 60 movies long lol.
@P.Sotirov11 ай бұрын
If it was happening only in MCU i could agree with the fatigue part, but sadly its all over the industry. So no i don't think its about fatigue. its due to chasing trends and hiring ppl that can't write, don't want to stick to the source material and want to self insert in one way or another. This is not what the audience is looking for, thus the flops of so many recent movies. As for the MCU, those recent flops only show that not every side character needs their own movie or tv show.

I saw it last night with my wife while two of my nieces were hiding from a shooter at the Chief's parade. But I didn't know that until later. My expectations couldn't have been lower. But surprisingly, neither one of us hated it. There were plenty of problems with the plot, but Dakota's powers were interesting, they were employed in a creative way, she went through a real character arc to earn her place as a heroine, and - despite the girl power trope - it wasn't woke. She was feminine and fully in her feminine energy. And it is Sony and not Disney. Not saying it was brilliant, but we don't regret seeing it. Definitely better than Mobius, if that counts for anything.

They dont want to get power from men, voluntarily. That would imply that they need men for something. They want to take it by force. To be fair, there is so far as I can see only one image of Sydney Sweeney in the Spidey suit on line. That's a clear failure in the marketing. I know very little about her and haven't seen her in any movie or show but the internet is very clear as to the....assets....she brings to a project. Yet all the advance press show her as a frump. Now, maybe that's for a big reveal. You know the old trope. Frumpy librarian girl takes off her glasses, shakes loose her hair and hey presto, she's a sex kitten. But, and yes this is a shallow observation, given the lousy press in advance one sure way to get some added audience was indeed to get publicity images of Sydney Sweeney (and yes the others) squeezed into as you say, skin tight Spandex.
