Dispersed Camping near Mt. St. Helens

We get out for a quick overnight camping trip in our Vanagon and explore the blast zone of Mt. St. Helens 41 years after the eruption. It is amazing to see how the area has come back to life after such a devastating event. Stumbling across a beautiful campsite, we cook a great hamburger wrap for dinner and don't get much sleep that night due to a late night visitor.

It was on the east side of the mountain but it’s been a few years so I can’t recall the road name. We just explored a bunch of roads till we found an area we liked. Thanks for watching! Nate

Hey Robin, the lift assist struts make popping the top much easer. If you don't have any, I would highly recommend them. We have the Jack Bombay struts and love them. Yeah there are tons of huckleberry bushes in the Gifford Pinchot and Nancy picked a bunch and made some great huckleberry jam. Get that Westy out there and find places to explore! nate
