Oh my God bless you. I've always done displacement maps through a different way and I tried using that method with Arnold for the first time and it just looked insane and I couldn't figure out why because my usual method worked just fine with Maya standard materials. Tried to figure it out for ages...

Thank you, in less than five minutes you helped me get the effect I want, I spent hours of cursing trying to get a bump map to work - to no avail. It seems that bump maps are becoming a thing of the past.

Arnold 5.1 et le displacement Hello in the version 3.0 something changed for the displacement because maintaining my meshs are inflated as ball(balloon) while with the version 2.1.0.3 I have no problem. I find nothing in doc concerning this change

I said lets say I have a plane with 10 width x 10 height subdivisions that's mean the plane is 100 polys right ? so when I go to the Arnold tab like in the video and choose catclark then play with subdivisions there .. is it going to change the poly count for example from 100 to very high poly count ? like in zbrush for example like this one if I want to sculpt it it will be millions of polys .. this is my question .. so I found the answer : no it will change nothing the poly count will stay the same .. and thank to you man ! really !

Hi. As far as I know, you can use a blend or a layer node to attach multiple maps and then link them to the displacement node, with the layer or blend node you can mix and match multiple displacement maps. I hope this helps.

Hi Amiruler , for the other material slots like you mentioned above, you can simply plug them into the channels in the hyper shade.
