good point, on how far David fell, before he boldly stood up to anyone who insulted the Lord. He called them filthy and uncircumsied and they were, yet now he was "at home" comfortable - this is what happens when you start drifting from God, making allowances even indulgences and later not see the difference between the godly and the worldly. The idea is not to become as the culture is, but to transform the culture to become godly, live for God not gold, and follow Christ.

This is also a great example of God showing David - A double minded man is unstable in all his ways, now David you are at a crossroads make your choice

God was also kind and patient here to show David, you cannot judge a book by its cover, nor your so called friends. That those you think of as friends, just may let you down no matter what side they are on, what they believe in, what color skin or nation they are from, it happens that the only one you can truly trust in to be a friend closer than a brother, is the Lord Jesus Himself. That you can take to the bank.

Amen - God is 1st and foremost, if He is not, we definitely need an immediate heart check, and Holy Spirit infusion flush, change that dirty oil, light your lamp with the oil of Jesus as Lord in your life. Follow Him. Realize what He has done for you.
