Dissidia 012: Duodecim - Exdeath vs. 000 Feral Chaos (Perfect Run)

I suck with Omni-Block's timing, so I just used Exdeath's other blocks instead. I actually have Protect, Shell, and Turn Guard all equipped on the ground for this particular fight. That may sound like overkill, but they each serve their own purpose. Protect Guard blocks Vicious, which is Feral Chaos's most common attack on the ground. However, it's not ideal for blocking Feral Chaos's dash, as if he cancels the dash into Ventus Ire or Deus Iratus, you won't be able to dodge cancel out in time. Turn Guard can't block Vicious, but it can be dodge canceled much earlier than Protect Guard, making it the better choice for blocking Feral Chaos's dash. At 1:36, if I had used Protect Guard instead of Turn Guard, I wouldn't have been able to avoid Deus Iratus in time. Trust me, I've failed several attempts at a perfect run because of that exact mistake.
Shell Guard is mostly there to block Spinter, of course (Turn Guard can block Spew). However, Feral Chaos never used Splinter in this fight for some reason, so it wasn't an issue. I have Omni Block equipped in the air mostly for stopping Via Dolorosa if I'm airborne, but that didn't come up in this run either. Interesting note: Feral Chaos's AI rarely dodge cancels Via Dolorosa, so you can actually catch him with a dodge into Delta Attack fairly often.
In my experience with this fight on the highest difficulty, Feral Chaos pretty much will never attack into your block if you try to block in advance. In order to use Exdeath properly here, you need to activate your block after Feral Chaos already started his attack. Otherwise, he'll consistently use Spew if you use Protect Guard early, or Vicious if you use Shell Guard early.
Or you can just master Omni Block instead. But I'm too lazy to do that (I don't like playing as Exdeath).

Like the only people that were "good" against him were ultimecia and exdeath on large stages. You could play "online" with people locally psp to psp but the most populsr method was a ps3 app called ad hoc party which let you play with people around the world.

how are most people so good in controling exdeath? usually when i use his block it eater lasts too long or to short to catch the enemy's attack, even more, ending up getting hit by the wrong type of attack or even the counter just failing and instead getting a second block fired instead

That reply was 4 months ago. Back then, I didn't play with any Discord characters except Sephiroth, Ultimecia, and Gabranth. Now I've played with all 31 characters and I didn't expect to be as good with Exdeath as I am, that's why I didn't like him. I personally enjoy the Black Hole->Grand Cross combo and Reverse Polarity->Maelstrom combo for large or trap-riddled arena's like the Rift or Ultimecia's Castle.

Mine is Sephiroth. His playstyle just feels so smooth. Golbez also controls really well for me even online, and Prishe is fun if you like smashing peoples' faces in. Gabranth is another character I like a lot, really rewards playing smart.

That is simply because ALL heroes gain what we call. Plot Armor. It buffs the heroes up and/or debuff's the villians without any prior notice and is completely unnoticable. Plot can give heroes the Plot Aura which gives them a massive stat boost, genre savvy-ness and an unlimited Re-Raise should the plot need it. For villians, it gives them the Plot Aura too only this time its -100 to genre savvy-ness and -100 to luck

I thought all of Feral Chaos's attacks are all high priority? (Means they break guard just like Cloud's EX Mode) And ExDeath's anti-melee attack is just a medium priority block? The only ability that I know that can block Feral Chaos's attacks is ExDeath's Omniblock (Which is the highest priority block skill in the game, and can deflect almost all melee attacks and bravery attacks)

Not sure if you ever found an answer to this, but here goes. His damage came from his accessories and multipliers coupled with EX mode. Exdeath's counters after a guard always hit hard, and even if your lowest multiplier is 6.1 at any given time, you're still going to hit like a fucking freight train. Maintaining EX Mode comes from EXP to EX Force. HP attacks give EXP, that ability converts it, and thus he stays in EX mode. It's been quite some time since I played the game, but The level difference usually helps that EXP gain.
