Dissidia 012: Duodecim - Laguna vs. 000 Feral Chaos (Perfect Run)

I take back everything I said before about Laguna having a hard time with this fight.

My previous attempt at Laguna's run was one of my most disappointing runs, I personally believe. But today I was soundly whacked by the stick of inspiration, and came up with this combo to neutralize Feral Chaos almost completely. This relies on the fact that since Sticky Bomb does not put the opponent into hitstun until long after it lands, it lets my assist gauge unfreeze after an assist and still sets up an HP attack. And it's not like the AI knows how to dodge Sticky Bomb + Satellite Laser, right?
This tactic, while quite effective against a multitude of AI opponents, is not foolproof. This is just my best run with the tactic. Pay careful attention to whether or not Feral Chaos uses an aerial recovery followed by a dodge after the assist chase. If he does, you're in the clear, and should use Satellite Laser immediately. Otherwise, watch out if he tries to attack you. There are three common ways he can hit you during the short window of time before Sticky Bomb explodes (assuming you're not directly below him). He can land and use Spew, he can (air) dash at you, or he can use Splinter in midair. Be prepared to block/dodge any of these, but note that if you dodge you won't have time to catch Feral Chaos with Satellite Laser. To keep your combo going, call your assist right after the bomb explodes. Thankfully, a lot of Feral Chaos's attacks are really just too slow to get you before the bomb explodes. Oh, and of course Feral Chaos can Assist Change out of the combo and promptly lock your assist with Raid or something, so Battle Hammer really helps the soft lock.
You can try this tactic against normal AI opponents and maybe even human players if you'd like. Against enemies that don't give vastly inflated EXP, you'll want Side By Side, which gives about 70% of a single assist bar with each HP attack you land. Add on EXP to Assist with maybe Excalibur II, and you might be able to get about 1 bar of assist with each Satellite Beam you land. To avoid your opponent going after you before Sticky Bomb explodes, use an assist that lets you land Sticky Bomb before the assist's attack is complete. Remember that your opponent can still avoid Sticky Bomb if they dodge just before it explodes. The idea, then, is to time Satellite Laser so that it lands about half a second after the Sticky Bomb explosion, so that you can punish your opponent if they tried to dodge. I'd imagine the timing for that would be rather strict, though, and I don't profess to have it mattered. It's all just my theory, really.

Laguna is funny and does a lot of bravery damage but his hp attacks r a pain cuz they take to long and the enemy can easily dodge them. But no offense to the people who like him.(opinion) (Opinion).
