While a bit one note in nature, Exdeath does have one thing going for him: he wins in the end. Before anyone says anything, consider this. He wanted to end the world under the claim that it was just going to end anyway. Even his own demise was inevitable. All Bartz, Faris, Lena, Galuf, and Krile succeeded in was prolonging the inevitable. While he's not necessarily interesting, you can't deny his victory. The story did, after all, end.

But is it really a victory that HE can claim? The world ending is an inevitability as old as the universe itself and while he was rooting for it's end, he failed in his mission to hasten it's end. In the end, his influence meant nothing and he was taken down just like any other Almighty Idiot with a nihilistic streak.

@@Ninetails2000 exactly, that's kinda the purpose of many ff MC not falling into nihilism and loosing their connections for the sake of despair or "fate" I think the best ff to show this opposition was ffix with Djidane/Kuja philosophies and everyone vs Darkness wich is like a metaphoric battle

How's he boring if you don't true understand the lore of his character. He's more so a philosophical villain like Pinhead from the Hellraiser films. Think about, he have been around for a very long time and he also one of the most powerful antagonist of the series, so whats so boring about him and his monologue if that's apart of his character. You may not like him that's fine, but I think he is very interesting to me.

To each their own, but you have to admit that at face value, all he's doing is spouting off some generic, omnicidal, nihilistic "Everything is going to die so why bother trying" nonsense. He may have a more dynamic character in his home series, but in Dissidia, it's all boiled down to "We're all going to be sucked into the void anyway so I shall actively not give a single fuck and just stroll around talking about nothing." and maybe a grudge match here and there with Cloud Of Darkness over who's void is the true void even though CoD is literally the physical manifestation of the void while he's just an evil tree that inherited the powers of the void. Thanks to his motivations and perspective on the conflict, he's very distinctly deVOID(Ha.) of character beyond just wanting to burn time until the end of the world.

***** You see that's the problem right there, you didn't analyze his character very close because that's what he did, that what he does, and it's apart of his character. You talking about him spouting some generic onmnicidal nonsense, really sir. Okay then, what about the suicidal maniac in a jester outfit who want destroy everything not because a motivated reason but for the enjoyment of it, you didn't say NOTHING about that, so don't come to me with crap. Remember, Exdeath isn't just some tree, that is only his physical manifestation of his form. He is actually a dark essence of multiple evil spirits and demons form into one inside of the tree of moore, which created him.
