Terra hair colour seems to be an interesting compromise between her blonde Amano art and her green haired sprite . Especially noticably next to Zidanes ultra-blonde hair.

her hair is supposed to be dirty blonde color. It is hard to portray without making it look bad. It wasn't something easy to show as sprites, it would look really bad. I think they did a good job recreating it in 3d. They did keep a touch of green, to act as the darker parts of dirty blond hair. I am saying this, cause I remember reading a old magazine article interview that talked about it. The director yoshinori kitase actually wanted her to be this color. He had a neighbor's wife who was from europe or something, and around the time they were coming up with Terra, he said he wanted to use that color. He actually asked the neighbor's wife if she would do some stills for reference. The portrait frame was based on those references. It actually had a lot of influence upon portraits art later on with the sharper line contours. Before FF 6, the team, a lot of SquareSoft hadn't travelled much yet or met westerners, and didn't really know what blond hair colors there were, besides from photos and movies. Kitase wanted to impart some realism, like making someone look european instead of modern western. It didn't work out, so they went with green, but kept the idea that Terra had dirty blonde color hair. The whole point was to do a transition from a darker dirty blond to a brilliant silver blonde when she transformed into her esper form. It is nice they still held on to that and kept her as a blonde in her full 3d debut.

​@@Keiji555 Yeah. I feel like it was just redundant? Like I don't remember the game all too well but what was the point of writing Terra the same way they wrote her in ff6? It was so pointless, and since there are many characters in the game, she didn't get her spotlight for development. They shouldn't have done the same "kefka controlling Terra" trope and went in the path continuing the end of ff6, where she found her meaning and learned what she was fighting for.

As fun as Dissidia is, it is not exactly a good base to judge FF characters. The games mishandled a couple of characters, such as Terra (portrayed as a damsel in distress) and Cloud (turned into an angsty edgelord). Better play the original games to know their true personalities.
