Just like in FF12 the dialogue is very well written.

As far as villains go, he's nowhere close to being the strongest in Final Fantasy. But with regard to his motives, the man was not one bred from shallow designs or delusions of grandeur.

Vayne's story in NT can be summed up with: Vayne: "Hello" WoL & Co: "Hi, and goodbye" And that was the cutscene.

He's easily my second favorite Final fantasy villain. Yes he's nowhere near as strong as Kefka or Sephiroth, or popular as those two but he makes up for it with his brain.

He’s my favorite FF villain. Because he’s driven by more of a down to earth ambitions; for the good of all mankind, which he believes should be free from the Gods. And he utilizes everything very strategically too, both the politics and military; arguably I would place him as the smartest FF villain.

@@jefthereaper Not so. The entire cutscene is pure Vayne. He is manipulating Noctis with his every word. He asks a very pointed question, intent on starting a conversation that he would control, but Noctis' companions put a stop to it before Vayne can really do anything.

To be fair, everything after Jecht is for dramatics' sake rather than an actual challenge. It's not fair to compare Yu Yevon to any boss when he's essentially the end of a victory lap and is designed as such. Also, I just realized I have another comment here.
