The plaintiff says the defendant is her sister. She claims her sister already owed her money and then stole additional cash from her. She’s suing to get her money back. The defendant admits her sister helped her out when times were tough, but she claims the money was a gift. She also denies stealing any cash.

Children's psychology is very fragile and unpredictable. What may have made me stronger, may make someone else weak when it comes to childhood trauma. The defendant has definitely been through some things and my heart goes out to her. That said, her older sister didn't deserve the treatment she got from her. And that "dad" is horrible. He was quick to mention to the older sister and judge that the defendant stole as a teenager. He conveniently left out the fact that she was stealing money because he wasn't holding the basic essentials for her and buying music equipment instead. He got custody of her when she was 14 and she still ended up in foster care afterwards because he wasn't taking adequate care of her? Smh.

Or maybe she sprinkles her truths with lies. We don't know if he had addiction which would mean he was incapable of taking care of her at the time. Or he was in jail. The older sister seemed to have a good relationship with the dad so I don't know if the situation was really what the little sister said. I would put some stock that the father was bad if the plaintiff didn't choose to have him stand there with her.

Or she was an unruly teen because of the trauma she faced landing her in his custody. Sometimes kids can actually be overwhelming. Teens even go as far as killing their parents if they don't get what they want, it's a developmental and psychological thing. It's not always hopelessly innocent teenager who does everything or if survival. Sometimes it's a train wreck.

That's sister's behavior right there, at the end proved she stole that $1,000. I can pretty much bet Judge Milian said, "Dang it! I messed that one up." It makes the situation confusing because if there were two parents, why was she put into foster care, I wonder what was going on with the mom. But regardless of who had custody, I still believe it is best to have both parents in a child’s life. If this is not possible, the father should be immediately present if the mother failed and vice versa, if the father failed, the mother should be immediately present.

Agreed. I almost started clapping when she said that. My dad raised me alone, and once I turned 18 and started working a steady job, he charged me $100 a month as "Rent". Little did I know he was setting that money aside. He was basically a savings account for me, and I didn't even know! He just wanted me to be responsible and teach me to pay a small "bill". It was a nice surprise when he gave me back all that money when I left for the Navy at 23. He obviously did not have to do that.

I know some kids who live at home and eat out uber eats door dash, eye lashes miles long, packages of exp clothing and bundles are being delivered 🤣 and parents allow this foolery nope we opening bank accnts teaching credit importance and contributing to these parts.. after those things are address you can do all that other stuff!!

How dissapointing to see the disregard and advantage the younger sister took, regarding the patience and concern her sister had for her. It sounds like there is definitely some kind of behavior disorder in her! That- and she WASN'T RAISED RIGHT. Or she could be stuck in emotional arrested development, from being forced to survive in a chaotic, loud, and violent household as a child. Dear humans - we NEED to recognize how we set our precious children up for negative self destructive behavior, by choosing to act out in your home environment. WE are their examples in conflict resolution, love, and morality!! Let your home be a place of safety, peace and refuge AWAY from the rest of the harsh and unjust world, that we must fight against every day.
