Did a challenge run where after every boss I kill I must use their remembrance weapon (and armor when applicable). Was honestly a fun way to try out all the different weapons!

The reason you struggled against the first boss was because you didn't use mohg's great rune when you were supposed to use all of his equipment obviously

I was just baffled when he started the video and immediately he's at Putrescent. You need to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to do this boss FIRST. This boss is LOCKED behind a door that only opens when you break Miquella's charm, which you do by going to Shadow Keep or Bonny Village. So to reach this boss before any others, you need to skip Relanna, go to shadow keep, then go to literally the opposite side of the map, go all the way through the rather annoying fissure, then reach the boss, all without any Scadutree Fragments!? Like dude is TRYING to give himself a heart attack at this point.

I know a lot of people don't like them but I really find the putrescent knight to be a really satisfying boss fight. Relanna too I think those are my two favorite boss fights in the dlc.

I beat him in one go and I was wondering why people find it hard. His moves are delayed but so easily predictable and dodge able, his delays are very forgiving if you accidentally roll too early only thing is his fire which the hit boxes are just fucking stupid sometimes. But, for the most part jumping toward the flame works.

Looks like a really fun run. Ngl looks like deflect tear can really salvage a lot of decent weapons and turn them into stance breaking monsters in the right hands, at least against most bosses.

Deflecting hardtear, basically if you guard instantly as an attack lands you can block the damage and not lose a lot of stamina

The wondrous physick tear got from the first furnace golem means that you can perfectly block attacks to negate a lot of damage and really mitigate stamina costs of blocking, and it powers up your guard counter immediately delivered after, too. The more attacks you perfectly block in a consecutive chain, the stronger your final guard counter will be I think up to 80% additional damage?

You don't have to kill Messmer. The path to the Rauh region and Romina is off another path in the Shadow Keep. The area with all the living jars and Shaman jar innard monsters leads to the bridge to Rauh.

I played through the dlc for the first time on NG+2, would it be a better/more fun experience to make a new character and go through it?

I did a new one before it came out. Wouldn't hurt to have a save with a new build you never did before for the dlc

I did half of it on a normal character but then I switched to my max NG character and got absolutely beat down until I finally beat it. Went back to the original character and beat most bosses in 1-2 tries. Would definitely say any experience is more fun than a high NG play through.
