I do love this game... or the idea of it at least. I bought it thinking it was going to be a slightly complex 4X game, but a few years on and I've still yet to crack how to play this game. One day I will! Always love watching you play though! I don't fully understand everything going on, but it's relaxing and I'm probably getting some tips via osmosis lol.

If you research fighter Ion Pulse Blasters (Under the Ion Point Defense tech), then your fighters would become a powerful benefit for your capturing strategy. :)

Good explanations. I do think it's important to discuss the Damage at Max Range though, particularly with torpedoes.

I like the ability to set a weapon family with the auto-designer. Now I would really like to see the ability to set civilian ships to prioritize fuel efficiency when it considers the what hyperdrive, reactor, engines, etc. to use.

Actually while choosing weapons for small escorts in distant worlds, a lot of the time you'll actually go with the most beneficial resource cost. Small ships might die, get reproduced, it might be fairly early into the game or such, so resources can actually be the #1 priority.

Curious as to why you designed the special Heavy Escort and Transport but avoided referencing them in the fleet you built?

I had a small stroke trying to understand the planet suitability lol. So it's the race modifier minus fifty, sad that to the planet habitibility and you get the final suitability. For this example 47 + (40 - 50) is 37. You said 37 is really good and anything about 20 will help you thrive. Is there a place that has a list of the final rating value and how that affects life on the planet?

When you hover over the planer suitability on the target planet it will show you the final result(s) for your specie(s).

It's a great game. Already played 500 hours.

The reason it has an average score is because of people who pick it up and then find out they can't play it because their rigs can't support it. Even I struggle to play it on min settings, but I also use a laptop, so that's an L on me - the game itself is fine, and if you enjoy this kind of genre, you most likely will enjoy it too.

Yes, it is one of the best games in recent years. I think too many players approach it as a traditional game rather than a 4X space simulation game.

I really would like them to change the exploration ship AI to survey planets within a system first before asteroids, by default.

@@philoponusvienna Mine are still exploring asteroids before checking all of the planets in the system after the Discovery update...

in that case you should research Resource Scanners so they survey all asteroids in an area instantly@@Trifler500
