I don't hate either of them, I hate their card designers who refuse to place proper limitations for balance. I love the designs, I love the way they work, they just shouldn't work so well for so much. Something like "the effect(s) of non-X card/archetype/type/level/whatever sent to the graveyard by this effect cannot be activated this turn" for mill effects would go a long way.

imo, ishizu is the one that is unfair not the tear itself. One card alone can just have 3-5 interruptions in just one effect like why. Tear package can only have 2 conditional negate, 1 omni negate/shuffle, 1 shuffle, and 1 destroy.

Ths shufflers should have only chosen 1 card to shuffle back, and only if you have Exchange of the Spirit you can choose 5. Also the Millers should prevent the effects of cards you mill from activating unless you have exchange of the spirit in the graveyard

Tearlament is categorically an overpowered archetype. The ishizu retrains shouldn't exist, but to be honest, that doesn't matter, what matters is the deck that loves having shit in graveyard has a million and one ways to get half the deck in there turn one. Tearlament MIRRORS are incredible skill based games where every interaction matters. Tear versus anything else that doesn't just shifter/arc light/dweller them out of the game is a free win unless they get a brick like MBT.

Damage step triggers are usually for attack points and damage manipulation type of effects. There are some other effects that can be triggered during damage step but they are few and far between

It should be able to trigger in the Damage Step. Trigger effects that are triggered by the card itself moving location is one of the valid effects that are allowed to activate in the Damage Step, as far as I know, and Kaleido-Heart would fall in that category if it gets popped by card effect in the Damage Step.

If you're talking about the Tear cards, most of them do, including the in-deck cards. For example, if they activate the effect to fuse, even if you stop it from working in some way; say with shuffling it back into the deck or something, it is still used up for the turn.

I’ve been able to beat a tearlament board many times with spright and other top tier decks. Just gotta board in proper cards that can handle it. I bring both copies of Called by the grave and use cards like D D Crow and Skull Meister and it has been working surprisingly well. I also throw in a couple paleo traps and its quite effective. I still lose more than i win but i’m a shit player and that was already happening to me lol. Plus the tearlament deck itself takes alot of skill to run so i don’t completely fee like an idiot if i lose to it. Rather than before, when your opponent just opens with exodia basically and barey has to think about their combo and just owns your ass because of the luck of the draw or the luck of the die roll. Idk, it feels better to me to lose based on skill rather than luck call me crazy lol.

I haven't played the game for several days because of this deck. Only thing mildly interesting is youtubers playing it, as then there is someone to listen to giving funny commentary. But actually playing against this deck? Horrendous. It's like that scene in A Clockwork Orange, you are forced to just sit there and watch, unable to do anything. I don't care that the mirror is "skillful". I don't want to play a deck that's this sweaty and LOOOONG, I want to play decks that I enjoy...which until the release of the Ishizu cards had been working "fine". But that, and then Tear has just made the game hell. P.S. The Tearlament names are pure nonsense. What the hell even is a "kitkallos"?!

All cards always give advantages even if you use it as "cost" for Tear effect. And They can use spell/trap effect on field and GY in the same turn. Unlike backrow focus deck like Eldlich or Labrynth, you know, you cannot use their field and GY effect in the same turn. Don't forget it not lock you into anything. . A deck that always give advantages in any action, cannot use all effect in same turn, and didn't have any restrictions. It is weirder of someone cannot use this easy deck.

Don't worry you don't have to play Tear. In fact if you wanna climb I suggest not playing Tear. Soooo many people are playing anti-Tear decks specifically it is hard for Tear to climb between them and the other Tear players (which also play anti-Tear Abyss Dweller lol). I'm having an alright time climbing with my beloved Salamangreat deck. If I go first I can set up Abyss Dweller and some negates so it's good if I go first vs Tear, if I go second the Ishizu shufflers hurt a lot though. But it is better vs the other decks that hate Tear too even though a lot of cards good against Tear are good against Salad as well.

thats about what pure runick feels like without floodgates, by the way. floodgateless- low impact floodgate Runick, in THIS meta is even worse than the prior ones. good luck when each shuffler flat out functions like an alternative and possibly better ash blossom against your deck and your opponent can not only rebuild their deck but spits non-destruction removal for fountain. your one grace is sometimes the ishizu millers can work for you somewhat.

Well I think its pretty clear what your opinion on Tear is but I, and I know I'm not alone, am really enjoying a more skillful format where every if not almost every interaction is important. If you can't afford getting the Tear cards I think its understandable to not want to play rn. Anyway they'll kill the deck probably next month, they even made Kitkallos an SR cuz they know they're gonna ban it lol

Tears are not as strong as I thought they would be, i've beaten them 4 out of 4 times with just Umi control.

Almost every deck that can't stop the backrow loses to Umi control, so that don't mean much.

@@zufaredris1659 The real biggest weakness when it comes to Master Duel is that Tear is a very skill intensive deck and the majority of players are casual players. Tear is a control deck that actually has to make a bunch of decisions without being able to sit behind floodgates. It's a great deck, but there's no combo video like there is for Spright for example that sets up the same turn 1 board for everyone easily.

That's really weird since Tear can play under Umi control, the only 1 Non water monster on the field almost does not trigger them since Kitkallos and Kaleido are the only darks that have to be on the field, and not at the same time since Rullkallos is Water too, along with Reinoheart wich is the only Maindeck tear ya actually want to normal summon
