While Tear was running around full powered in the TCG, I had a lot of success with Gren Maju stun at locals/regionals. Gren Maju as a deck is pretty cheap to make in MD if I’m not mistaken. Most of the key cards are SR, including cards like summon limit.

It’s a Floowandereeze deck. Doesn’t matter the fact that he runs handtraps because the deck it’s not consistent independent of how many non-engine cards you run it. And the reason is all the consistency good cards to play with flo are limited in some point: Duality at 2, Prosperity at 1 and now Map at 1. Floo will brick more often than none. The deck has a big consistency issue and it’s becoming much worse since they still keep hitting the deck with absolutely no reason at all.

Honestly, that's a good thing. I started playing master duel two months ago and I literally was able to put my life together because this game is awful outside of your daily missions and shit. I also started cleaning my room when my opponent goes for those 10 minute plays, trimmer my hair, maybe take care of my toenails and atop playing if there is no mission for me. I swear, this game is awesome if you know how to phase yourself

They really don't. They just make bagooska if you use shifter, or redoer if you play a lot of traps like macro. The reason they don't have true counterplay is the reason they're one of the best decks of all time. You can't just use ash to end their turn as is often the case with a deck like branded. Even dimensional barrier does nothing because they make links/xyz and just play on your turn.

Something to keep in mind is that every handtrap or anti-handtrap in your opponents hand is one less starter or extender, so if your opponent stunlocks you with 4 handtraps you really only need to set up like 1 interaction to stop the final play in their hand plus whatever they draw.

@@MateFold those kinds of hands are unsurprising considering the most popular decks of the format. Runick has a starter in every spell and Spright turns any 2 level 2 monsters into gigantic. The thing you need to keep in mind is that all of these decks can combo more or less, it depends on how much material they have. Sometimes Spright makes elf, gigantic and cat, other times it's I:P elf pass. Same for runick and how many spells in hand. A deck like shaddoll is fundamentally playing a different game than Spright or other post POTE archetypes. I would recommend ishizu shaddoll if you want to play shaddoll. Schism is a pretty slow card that is dead going 2nd, I would just run an extra board breaker.

My play time has dropped pretty heavily lately just due to the best of one RNG fest this game wants me to engage in. On top of a shuffler that I'm convinced is trying to make your hands more diverse rather than draw based on deck consistency (How many of y'all can tell me stories just this week of hitting your 1/2 garnets in multiple games? Drytrons get a lot of bad rep but they're surprisingly pretty hype if you aren't turbo-ing herald. My favorite one is the Za Warudo (The World) turbo version or the infinite LP gain one.

MD is actually coded so that 60 card palyers always open grass or left arm offering. And the coin toss is rigged for decks that can go first or second. Decks that can only go first always lose the coin toss. Whatever the archetype you are playing will always get you certain matchups.

I play master duel almost daily. Ill have days where im almost breaking the keyboard because I'm getting Maxx C'd 5 games in a row. Ill also have plenty of games where i actually have a lot of fun going back and forth with my opponent, and that makes up for it What actually is most frustrating to me is how often people will just surrender when you start your combo, just because they dont have 3 handtraps. Even in games when i dont start great, i only have to play one card, and they scoop.

hence with every new major meta change i just adjust my earth machines a bit and most of the time school those meta decks.. But it gets really boring when people play 15 minute combos and you have no out or if you do have an out they just surrender. That's where yugioh falls off, the lack of best of 3, games being won off coinflips, and 15-20 minute combos that can either get destroyed with 1-2 cards or counters everything your opponent tries to do. There's no good compromise for fun in yugioh unless you intentionally play lower tier decks.

If it makes you feel any better Coder, I opened a full house (3xMaxx "C" and 2x Keldo) in a duel before. Most other duels it feels like my opponent opens the exact counter to whatever hand I open with. The shuffling algorithm in Master Duel sucks ass. People constantly see these 1 in 1000+ hands?

I have 350 hours in Master Duel. How do I do it? I play low tier trash decks and concede against top tiers if thier hand is god like. This does mean I'm usually hard stuck in gold but every so often I just get to Platinum with some weird deck no one could ever predict. Like I made it to Platinum playing Giant Ballpark. A go 2nd deck, and instead of using the 2k insect beatstick, I used Gokibore. Because all the cards that support insect normal monsters have Gokibore in thier artwork. I wanted to keep it themed.
