Subterrors are still one of the coolest decks design-wise, them flipping being they go underground, other subterrors cannot be specialed unless they are all underground since they are territorial. Warriors whole thing is that when subterror appears he summons himself, using an on field subterror as bait for a larger one. Not to mention all the behemoths have baller fucking art and really fun utility effects along with the coolest card ever made in Final battle

​@@partyrock4144 Subterror succession seems to imply that not the Behemoths can transform but that they come to be through the transformation of some other being. Fiendess being able to control her transformation and maintain her senses in Behemoth-form is an exception: Guru turned into Speleogeist and before that, knowing that his time had come, passed the mantle on to the Nemesis Warrior (possibly even asking to be slain) who goes on to fight the Speleogeist in Final Battle.

@@ashikjaman1940 over half the deck is subterrors, thus it is not an engine at all, it is the CORE COMPONENT of the deck. 3 Fiendess, 1 Archer, 2 Warrior, 3 Guru, 1 Styg, 1 Uma, 1 Volt, 1 Stal, 1 Spel, 1 Ultra, 3 Hidden City, 1 Clash, 2 Final Battle. That's 21 Subterror Cards alone. They only have one Extra Deck Monster, so don't even bring that up. Book is basically Flex Support for the Archetype as a sort of semi removal and play enabler. Subterrors need their field spell to do anything pure, so, terraforming is a required card for the extra consistency. There is only one actual floodgate in the deck, being Gozen Match. IDP is matchup specific, good card, but still, it can be an extremely slow and sometimes even a dead card entirely. The only part of this deck that I would consider ridiculous is the 6 Solemns. Running Two Copies of a Floodgate that ISN'T Mystic Mine is not Floodgate Turbo.

Subterrors are some of my favorite fun decks to play. A lot of people underestimate them because of their bricking potential, but hitting an aleister with a 8k+ boosted speleogeist is one of the most satisfying things you can do in this game

Speleo is such a nice card for the deck. The 6k+ pokes aside, his ability to set up a good field going second is underestimated even among Subterror players.

Apart from me, 1 dude in MD and coder, that Japanese player is the only other person I've seen play subterrors If you don't mind using staples, Maxx C is an honorary subterror, its searchable via succession's 2nd effect. Helps keep this deck alive lol

@@gooley9849 Potentially but it would be a very slow climb if you only plan on playing Pure Subterrors. It can struggle when it comes to consistency because it's really dependent on farming Hidden City and Guru for advantage.

Subterror, Eldlich and True Draco all have there very fun and interactive playstyles, but all of them benefit so hard from all the different floodgates that there sadly is no reason to play any other variant.

You know I thought the behemoths summon effect missed the timing when fiendess is used as cl2. "When a card is flipped over: You can..."

It usually messes up the way you think when you first activate Final Battle or flip up Guru , and then chain Fiendess afterward to another card. Alternatively it happens when you use Gurus effect as a quick effect, then chaining Fiendess to target Guru or the like. Fiendess negates then Guru resolves with no effect, and you have missed your activation window for the Behemoths in hand.

Cool things I learned with subterrors, you can use succession search Maxx-C. Also always max out on final battle, it is searchable but it's not once per turn.

I wouldn’t say I play pure Subterror, but I don’t play a bunch of floodgates. I kinda play Guru and Archer control. I use Floodgate Trap Hole and Quaking Mirror Force along with Guru effect to shuffle everything away with my triple Archer. It’s so fun. I love that card to death.

I swear, my Diamond 1 rank-up like 2 months ago while I played Subterror, was the mirror match. It's like Konami knew. My Subterror deck has a few TCBOOs but nothing beyond that, just good traps like Crackdown and Solemns. I'm even using 1 Nemesis Warrior which has come in clutch to help Guru dodge Herald of Orange Lights back in the day.

There can be only one and Imperial iron wall is very good in this deck. Imperial Iron wall with Lord can set anything and it not be banish after your turn ends. So you could set any continuous trap/spell and keep it on the field. And if you don't have imperial Iron wall you could search it of Lord and it won't banish after the end phase. Also it stops called by and hurts a lot of decks.

As long as you're playing a deck with a fun mirror it's not a huge issue. Unless you're on some super popular meta stuff, I'm sure even the people on Despia have gotten tired of seeing it every other matchup even as they continue to be the reason it happens.

I'm a pure Subterror player, they're better than people assume. I'm super happy Speleogeist was included in the build, even if it wasn't seen. It's the most slept-on Subterror card. Going second and having a 3K name for Fiendess and Guru while getting 2 flip-ups off Hidden City is serious shit. In later turns he can attack for stupid big numbers.

This is the 1st time I’ve ever seen some1 other than my friend play pure subterror. I knew about and faced off against subterrors 100s of times b4 I even heard of guru control. And anytime I dueled guru control I smashed them into pieces bcuz they suck while pure subterror terrifies me, at least when my friend plays them. And btw, his og ver was 60 cards, idk if he ever managed to shrink it down to 40-45 cards.

Subt is super fun, toobad that konami killed it in duel links by nerfing the best skill that could be used with it (masked tribute, return 1 card from your hand to the deck, then play 1 of 2 lv4 lumis/umbra vanila monsters from outside of your deck (it means you dont need to have 1, the game will make 1 for you), you cant sp summon until the end of your opponents turn. (it was only your turn before the nerf)), now we gotta wait for more support.
