Warner Bros. let Seagal direct On Deadly Ground if he agreed to make Under Siege 2, so it wasn't a total loss. This was obviously another paycheck movie for Michael Caine, but kudos to him for not phoning it in.

I remember when I checking this movie out in the video store when it came, reading the summary on the back cover, and seeing a comment by the critics that said something like On Deadly Ground was the equal to Under Siege. Yeah, right. That movie is still far better than On Deadly Ground.
